/rant

do not send me a /t if your pt is Fing full!

Johnnyb > {Hello}
me > hi
waits 5-10 min

me > Can i help you with something...........?
Johhnyb > sorry pt full, thnz bye

this shit should not be happening at this lv. If you send a /t to someone for a pt or something else, that person should be allowed that spot because you asked them.

And I really am annoyed by PT leaders that /t 5-6 RDM or BRD and invite the first that replies...leaving the others out in the rain (although they do get pts...)

This is one of the driving reasons I am thinking of quitting

/rant off
/equip random armor to fend off random thrown things

Well..

There are some bad seeds and some good ones. Just enjoy the game and don't let those kind of things mess with your head. And definatly do not quit the game because of such a small thing. I mean if the fuc*ers wanna do that, screw 'em. Just brush it off and go have some fun somwhere else. :P

well it doesnt look like he really invited you to pt just yet although i can see how you think that is what he was intending to do

actually i didn't know if he wanted to pt or not (he was at a not so great lv to be inviting me), but he 'intended' to do so.

Funny Johnnyb. Hahahahaha

I remember one time where I was EXPing as a Black Mage in Qufim Island...

Nibble (Mithra THF) was there, EXPing as a Ninja.

Of course, everyone got into a /shouting match with Nibble, screaming about how she REFUSES to use "Utsusemi" as a Ninja, because:

1. It's too expensive.
2. Ninjas are Damage Dealers... Not tanks...

(This is what she apparently thought.)

And of course, everyone starts throwing around the new "N" word.....

NOOB.

...

Hahahahaha! Then I guess that Johnnyb was somewhere in the nearby vicinity. So he shouts, "I have a Lv. 75 PLD! I'm not a noob." (Or something to that effect.)

...

Personally, in my humble opinion, just because you're Lv. 75, that doesn't automatically make you NOT a noob, because as we all know, there IS a such thing as a "High Level Noob"... And of course there's "Purchased Accounts".

Most of these "High Level Noobs" usually come in the form of a White Mage, Red Mage, or a Paladin (I'm not dissing all you WHMs, RDMs, and PLDs. So before you start screaming at me, chill out.)

I'm just saying that because of these particular jobs... Mostly Tanks and Mages get to Lv. 75 quicker than everyone else, so the likelihood of having a "High Level Noob" come out of the mix is somewhat increased because they haven't had as much of an immersion as the other players.

...

I'm not saying Johnnyb's a high level noob (I think)... I'd rather you discern that yourselves; I'm simply giving my insight. But all in all, Naly's right. This shit needs to stop.

Heh.

I missed the johnnyb part the first time I read it!

OK so, please keep in mind that there is Johnnyb and Jonnyb, and they are not the same person. Jonnyb is the smarter one. Johnnyb is an idiotic level 50 DRK that can't be bothered with genkai 1.

I partied with Nibble in Valkurm once, she was having a lesbian affair with another mithra (not kidding).

Well, I've heard rumors of Nibble being rather promiscuous... I'm not confirming nor denying that. I'm just repeating what I've been told.

First off, I would like to say that I know Johnnyb and that guy has helped me out alot. in fact, he's probably helped me out more than anyone else in this game. Now nalyubuites, I have nothing against you, I dont even know you, but, no where in that dialog did i even see that johnnyb was intending on inviting you... It is possible that he was gonna ask you something. Hell, he might have clicked on the wrong name in the search dialog. I mean all he said to you was Hello, that shouldnt lead you to believe it was an intended invite. I dont see why you got offended over hello.
Devifoxx, I can tell you that johnnby did not purchase his account. When I first started playing, he was PL as a rdm. I, in return helped him level his Drk, when he got it. Are you sure your talking about Johnnyb? He doesnt have a level 75 Pld. He actually just beat Maat the other day, and is getting his Drk to 75.
Songi, are you calling him an idiot for not helping you? I'm not exactly sure what your problem with him is, but it sux for you cause he really is a good guy. Hell, he might have not wanted to be bothered with you cause he was helping me =).

I must say I'm a little bit guility of this and it has come back to sting me on occasion. After sending 3-4 tells and getting no response (maybe afk) its very tempting to send our the next 2-3 tells all at once instead of waiting several minutes after each. This has lead to getting more than one response and hurts feelings, so I try to avoid it when possible. Yet sometimes you still get in a hurry. I'm guessing the reason he only sent "Hello" was to check if you were afk or not before sending out actual invites to all the people he was checking on first, which makes since but can easily be taken as annoying. Cut them some slack for at least taking the initiative to start the party.

it's clear he was looking for a group member.. but all he said was hello... so you were hopefull for a group and that is understandable since you're a samurai and there's so many of you... but nothing was promised to you.. you weren't invited and you weren't told there was a place for you and then denied said spot in PT so there isn't anything to be pissy about

also i don't see what the problem is with asking multiple people.. if you only ask one at a time and wait for a responce or you could end up missing someone that is wanting a PT and ready to go.. many people have limited time to play and are understandably impatient so taking a long time to build a PT could result in members leaving.. when building a PT i will do what is in the PT's best interest.. and i often do so by sending a "hello" to all people im interested in.. those that respond will get a run down of our plans and current PT makeup.. and the first one of them that says they want to PT gets in

i've often said that far too many people playing the game have thin skins and can't joke around without getting pissy... you don't even have that
you get all worked up over a hello (intentions don't matter) nothing was asked of you and nothing was promised... no promise made = no promise to break = no reason to get pissy... honestly if you get so worked up over an unvoiced intention and consider quiting the game... YOU NEED TO QUIT

read from the bottom up for evidence he was looking for a member.

read the first line i wrote.. i never said he wasn't looking for a member.. in fact i agreed with you and said that was why you got the "hello"

and if you have to "go through" anything in a game, YOU NEED TO QUIT

Johnnyb, aside from his lousy grammar and condescending attitude, ran away with a friend of mine's gear after he let him borrow it for garrison. He was sore because we didn't get anything good.

When I receive a random hello in the game, I would appreciate a follow up response as to why you're initiating the conversation. I have NEVER received tells from people just to say hey, what's up?

I've received tells commenting on my name, asking for help, or to party.

The fact of the matter is, we can't PROVE that johnnyb was looking for a party, but I'd like to make an educated guess as to what happened.

He put out tons of /t "player" Hello and then picked the first person who responded that looked ideal, was negotiating what the party was, where it was, etc and then formed the party. When people inquire after the 5-10 minutes, the party is obviously full.

How many hellos has anyone ever sent that were just, oh, look, here's a person in another zone, maybe I'll just say Hi to them without any other motive. This would exclude if the person is on your friends list. I'm talking about randomly starting up conversations with people you don't know for just no reason. Either way, it seemed Johnnyb would have an intention to message you.

Ahhh Johnnyb, I remember him well, I refered to him way back when in the dunes as a "tourist" (I have so many aspects of my life that directly tie-in to Fight Club its sick)

Definition (FFXI):

Tourist: A random pt member that claims he has to log, disbands, and joins the pt right next to you.

Doesnt make him a bad guy, but it does make him a unique case in game hilarity ^^
