It's fooking awesome! Omg, seriously though this game is scary as hell, literally. The music, great! Perfect action-packed and scary music that fits this games atmosphere.

I'm not sure how far along I am.. but if you've played any of it yet. Im at the part where you have to meet up with the Alpha squad. So far, I think I'm in love with this game, its like playing an action/horror movie. I've been tempted to scream/shout several times.

Visually this game is amazing, unfortunately i can only play it on the medium settings.. yet even though its on the medium settings this game is completely a visual treat. I only wish I had as uber a video card as I thought i had. People look realistic, speak believably, sound realistic (good voice acting! -If you've played it, i swear one of the guys you can talk to at the beginning of the game sounds like Spike from Cowboy Bebop- )

Final Verdict: This game lives up to (if not surpasses) expectations so far, and that is great!

i loved the first 2. actually have the the second on my comp right now. haven't played 3 yet but i'm gonna buy it soon. it looks insane

Not sure if it is just me, but the dark setting makes the gfx look ok, but not great by any means. I am done with the Alpha Labs 1-4 and all I can say is that it is super repetitive, and not scary at all, I mean I was scared playing Farcry in some of the levels, but D3 just doesn't do it for me.

I am dissapointed in the sound, using 5.1 channel it is far less impressive than Farcry's sound. I am playing with max advanced settings, no AA, vsync on, 1024x768, medium gfx.

If I had to choose again I would not get it, the gfx are nice, but the total lack of variety, and the suck ass multiplayer levels get two thumbs down from me. If you haven't yet, go and get Farcry and be happier for it.

farcry is an awesome game from start to finish. the gameplay is there and the gfx and sound are amazing. the A.I. is surprisingly advanced. i enjoyed
getting spotted under a hut on the beach and then shooting up through the boards to silence them. the expansive areas were most impressive and
quite fun to explore...........then i got ffxi...................................... lol

ill probably get doom tonite and load it up after i get lvl 22 on my thf ^^

this game is quite good ^^ its a total system pig so... beware!!

the only complaint i have so far is the darkness :( im starting to get used to scanning a room w/ flashlight b4 i enter, but the fireball tossing hellhounds
pop out too quick and my little pea shooter is hardly a match for them.
(out of shotgun ammo).

doom3 has managed to jump me out of my chair 3x so far, O.O
it is scary........ T.T

and the graphics, wow. all i can say.

See.. I told you it was scary. Sculli is just a big desensitized poopy head. :P

Comes with age, I am just not easily scared anymore, have seen some scary shit in game and in real life, and D3 is simply not all that scary.

All I can say is HOT DAMN!

this game continues to rock my socks off . . . took it through it's first paces last night and yeah . . . I'm a huge fan.

Stupid imps . . . so fast . . . but then again all those sorts of arguments end pretty fast with some shotgun shells in the face

... and on the subject of scare, go play American McGee's Alice, and you will know scary!

Alice?

the only thing scary about Alice is the controls.

But the sound track rocks . . .

I know I know . . . I'm a sucker for former NIN members . . . well . . . except for that ass-band Filter :?

Ouch . . . the diagnosis is the onboard video and I'm sure that it's choking on the DX9 extentions the game uses, or a lack of VRAM

and there you have my diagnosis.

I'm using AMD Athlon XP2400+ (@2GHz), 512 DDR Ram, and GeForce FX5600 (128 ddr) and I can sneak by running the game at 800x600 and high detail

and even then there's slowdown in places.

Can we say system pig?

Hmm...

I think I'll just get it for Xbox when it comes out. I tried the Far Cry demo, I didn't care for it. The only other new game Ive got for my PC is Painkiller, which really reminds me of classic Doom. As for the suck-ass multiplayer... I know I suck, but I don't like playing multiplayer FPS's (except for Perfect Dark.) I did like Halo's single player campaign.

Just got Doom 3 today. Pretty cool, very scary game. =D Even before I ever got to kill a single zombie, i was already on the edge, just waiting for something to pop out at me. Was really fun, until my comp started bogging down so much as to make it unplayable, lol. This game might finally force me into getting the mem upgrade i've been telling myself to get for so long now.

For those who have noth bought it yet I am going to borrow something to sum my thoughts up better than I could in so few words:

"The first hour of the game is fantastic, but after the 6-8 following hours of slogging through high-tech-factory environment after high-tech-factory environment, things really start to drag. I've had to force myself to continue after that, and things picked up a bit later on but not nearly enough. The process of "walk into room, monsters spawn, kill monsters, more monsters spawn, get keycard, open door" was tired and dead in 1997, so why are we seeing it now in 2004? Far Cry had 100 times the depth of this."

GFX are awesome, gameplay is marginal, no interactivity at all, environment doesn't respond to player, and multiplayer makes me want to return the game if I could.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!
You mean you didn't get shits and giggles out of walking up to a pop can and punching it across the room?!? What more interactivity do you need? Kept me entertained for a good 5 minutes, at least!

I say it has the best damn 'minigame' ever! Super Turkey Puncher 3! w00t! What more interactivity do you need. rofl
