"Swiper no swiping... swifer NO SWIPING.... SWIFER NO SWIPING!"

At an early children learn more than one language better than they would at an older age. So I believe that Dora the Explorer is a great show for children to watch because she speaks Spanish and helps their little minds grow. Just my opinion.

I like Dora, only because it makes my gift shopping for my niece easy.

Is it just me or is this one of the worst fucking shows on tv right now for children? Not just that, but I cannot fathom actually sitting with a child watching this.

I used to hate Spongebob with a passion for similar reasons, but it seems the writers took note of the fact that their intended audience had grown to include teenagers and added a little more wit to the plotlines.

Back to Dora....
There is nothing really educational about this show at all. It is just creating a wave a children that will think it is appropriate to yell at inanimate objects like those crazy bums you see on the streets covered in their own urine (an erie similarity). And what is the deal? Is she mexican or something, last I checked I didn't want to totally fuck my kid in the dome with 2 different languages going at once when they are first learning english.

It pisses me off to wake up because of this shit, I was having a nice nap, then this shoutfest turns on. Another thing I noticed is that Dora does not actually talk, she yells. Every fucking thing, is just yelling.

And the little songs..... CRAP utter CRAP! Fraggle Rock was retarded when I was a kid, but it was better than this shit. The quality of children's TV programs has fallen. I just want my ambiguously gay childrens programs back on the air. Something that I can fall asleep to and not be woken up by.

Just do what i do, ignore it

SWIPER NO SWIPING!!

Yeah i have also felt the horror that is Dora. Is it a good educational tool? Yeah it is. However there are severl annoying things about it. For example, they ask you to find something in her bag for her. You open it up and he says "What do dora and boots need to climb the mountain?" Then my younger cousin would scream "THE ROPE!!" Then he points to the boat and says "The boat?" and she goes "NOOOOOOOOOO THE ROPE THE ROPPEEE!!!!" And im sittin there cringing as she is screaming. They really need to stop treating the kids like idiots. They dont need to repeat the 3 steps to the chocolate mountain 20 times. I REALIZE I NEED TO GO THROUGH THE FUCKING BLUE BUSH STFU ALREADY!

I miss all the cool shows that used to be on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network like Dexter's Lab and Courage the Cowardly Dog, and the older Cartoon Cartoon Fridays(this was the name before it was just called Fridays)

I don't mind the education value, but they mess some crap up (isn't Mui Bient[sp?] "very good", not "great"? *shrug)

The thing that gets me is the bullcrap self-satisfaction they shove to your kids.
"Which one of these should we use to keep out of the rain?"
a. Red shoe
b. Umbrella
c. Baseball
d. Blue shoe

Then they throw out that your kid chose the right one, even if /she's a little slow and thinks the red shoe deflects blue rain, and gets 2-10 minutes of "You're great! We did it! Yay!"

Only good thing to come out of that show is Swiper and the big red cock......er..chicken.

Pfft the answer is the shoes! Put em on and run the hell inside :)

I'm still waiting for the episode where Dora has to deliver the magic balloons to America, so she pulls out map and it tells her she has to cross the river, avoid the border guards, and deliver her magic balloons before they pop.
I think that would be great. She could even get a New friend called Pedro the Mule, who can hold the magic balloons for her.

Yes, I’m going to hell…

Children shouldn't watch Television with very few exceptions. National Geographic, TLC, PBS, and maybe some Cartoons as like a special treat on the weekends.

Being entertained all the time makes you stupid. They should learn how to entertain theirself.

Too many parents use the TV as a babysitter. I didn't even have a television in my home the first 8 years of my life. I didn't have Cable till I got a job and paid for it my damn self. That was due to me being poor moreso than my parents not allowing it. But still, it think it made me smarter than I would have been If I had been subjected to the "telesitter" all my life.
