I play on 360, but i wanted to Install FFXI and all the expansions on PC. Is there anyway i can download em online w.o having to buy a PC version of each?

D2D has to be paid, Torrents? I guess i gotta learn how

Not hard, I don't think we're allowed to discuss torrents on this forum. But there are guides all over the internet on how to use torrents.

Doesn't that 5 dollar demo disk have all the expansions on it?

You can't download it legally but if you go to like a gamestop you can get an incredibly cheap disc that IIRC installs all the expansions. It's dirt cheap because it doesn't include the free month, lol.

Or find a friend who is willing to zip/rar up his ffxi folder and transfer it to your pc (ie on a lan, or internet if he/she has a somewhat decent connection). Currently it comes down to about 8-9GB I believe.

After that there are a number of ways to generate the needed registry keys, and dll's registered to get ffxi detected by PoL. (PoL itself you can download from playonline.com , they have one up there for the vista comptability, but it works fine on XP). The advantage to this is you'll be skipping the whole patching process (except for 1 file check) as your friends ffxi folders will already be up to date.

I've done the above method without problems to my laptop and back, between xp, vista and vista64.

Currently FFXI, with all the expansion packs, is 9.37 GBs (or 43,757 files). The Windower forum pages has a thread that tells you how to copy your FFXI directory from PC to PC without installing. I'll try to find the thread tomorrow when I'm awake enough.

go get the trial disc from gamestop, it had a price drop and is now $3. It includes playonline, tetra master, and all expansion installs except for WotG on one disc.

Even if you download it or borrow it, you should have this disc for backups. I have 8 million different copies of this game and still bought a trial disc for that sole purpose.

I have yet to see any ffxi related material in what is supposed to go as 'pc shops' overhere sadly. WTB your gamestop ;)
