Hey all, About 4 months ago I put my DRG on hold. It's 46 and I felt like I couldn't afford any of the equipment that was coming up. I can't afford a walkurs mask .

I need some advice. I haven't touched my main since months before the update and leveling all these jobs with other dragoons in the party have got me itching to deal damage again.

What peices of equipment should I be wearing now/be wearing in the future till 50? How do you suggest making money without THF leveled(16 WW)

Well, if you have a Brig, good for you. You're fine. As for head, anything with either high def, or + to a stat. I'm still wearing my Merc. Capt. HEadgear until I, too, cann afford a Walk/Valk mask. Though I do have an LS member on my other server camping walk for me, as I'm (Too weak) to camp him. I'll pay him back, of course.

Anyway, as for legs, I'm still using my Bastokan Subligar at 46, as well as Battle Gloves. I picked up a Swordbelt, and a Tilt Belt, and still use my Brave Belt. Weapon? I think the Behourd Lance will be your best friend for a while. Feet? Well, I'm not sure how to replace my Savage Gaiters for any other race, but again, anything with +ATK or STR will be your best friend. If not, go for a higher DEF so you can take a hit better than a glass vase.

Stricly for exp ptys, you wont have to worry about DEF as you shouldnt be getting hit in the first place....if you are...the tank is doing his job that well, seeing how High Jump should keep your hate from being too extreme. Accuracy and DEX is very important....more so if your elvaan. STR is really great for your WS's and having more Attack the better.

Like Dath said, Brig is gonna be a must have for your body piece. Legs and feet arent gonna be that great for awhile but get the best you can get. Dont worry about sacrificing DEF for great stats. If you have a piece of equip that has awesome stats....hold on to it. Dont let your DEF get too ridicously low though....cause you will always end up getting hit now and then, its enevitable. You dont wont to be taken down in just three or four hits.

If your pulling, just trade equip for better def equip then switch back once tank has control of the mob.

I'm using the Elvaan RSE pants right now as a lvl 50 drg. Seem to work well.
Also using Volan's Greaves but you'll have to camp the NM if you want those. Unless you have an extra 500+k gil lieing around.

(I think >.>) Behourd (Sexy cheap lance tbh) Swordsmans belt, occasionaly tilt depending on mood or situation, Brigadine (got it back when it was 8k ) Ram Mantle (need to upgrade it really) Spike Necklace, and Tathlums (For shits n giggles) and I am a lvl47 DRG,

I agree with most things said brig for body walkure/valkerie mask for head, beetle earring+1s STR rings if you using sole sushi is probably good, life belt is nice. then depending on what race you can get RSE and stuff. look for att. STR. acc. and DEX. Mithril lance or whatever it was called is good at 48. you'll probably need snipers if you want penta thrust to do much against IT but it SCs so bad I almost never used it in partys.

I do have to disagree somewhat with what's been said about def. I recomend making an equipment macro so you can put on some defense/+enmety when lining up SATA since that's one of the main goals of a drg. also comes in very handy if the tank somehow dies so you don't just get totally owned. most of the time though you want max damage gear.

This is a great guide, I'm sure it will come in handy.

Also, you don't need the most ubber equipment to lvl a job. I try to get the best that I can, without going insane from farming, and other gil making ventures. At some point you just have to say, " I'm not going to spend months saving, and trying to be the inflation on the hauby." and simply use the next best thing.

Anyone that has any sense of recreation in this game will understand why you don't have a freaking 10mil gil piece of equipment.

Thanks guys, appreciate all the help!!! Yes I have a brigandine, not the +1 but I have yet to see one of those on a person) One more thing, right now I have about +14 dex, what should I be using for food? I've got mithkabobs right now but should I carry some sole sushi?

Pre-72 Just stick to Acc+ and Att+ for equip, an optional STR+ equip set for WS, and use sushi to hit accurately, sole sushi preferably. Also listen to the others regarding equipment and weapons, etc. Hopefully you can tweak your DRG to your liking.

w/e i'll make a useful post i geuss....at ALL lvls stick with full acc and macro in str for ws's....i gain tp only second to sam. and can still pump out big numbers in ws's.

edit: btw i use my str set for soloing and farming simply from the better defense and more power.

I've also never been made fun of as a dragoon, not seriously at least.

ya you usually will do that in all pt's but omfg i get teased everyday for being drg...we arnt really all that useful endgame cept for spirits within and opening light or darkness.
