You guys should seriously try out /SAM again, not only because of new abilities, but because of Zanshin being reduced to obtainable through subjob. This means your Wyvern would have Store TP, and Zanshin for when it misses.

That'd also require actually wearing it when not in town, which I don't think I've ever seen a drg do.

Asssalt Jerkin is better

You don't have to do that. You only have to wear it when you call your wyvern and when you zone for it to work.

You're assuming Assault Jerkin will be as beneficial given two handed haste, accuracy, and stength bonuses now.

The accuracy is pretty paltry as is, and will the benefit of Store TP increasing Breath Damage, and Zanshin increasing DoT outweigh the Attack+ for you?

Thats why things get tested, to answer questions like this.

Oh, I thought you had to wear it when you used the subjob ability to give them the effect.

Store TP fair enough but it has store TP

DRG/SAM

/equipe af2 body
/callpet
/equipe assalat jerkin

the pet will have zanshin and store TP

when you do a JA etc go into your af body so your pet gets it as well

Does the wyvern actually get all subjob traits though? I was led to believe it was only 1 trait per sub given to the wyvern.

Erm, I'm pretty sure Wyverns don't have Store TP naturally. They were given Subtle Blow. Entirely opposite effect.

Easiest way to find out would be BST sub. 37 would net you 3 killer effects and a resist slow or two, obviously the resist slow wouldn't be part of the test.

Naw, Wyvern doesn't get the Subjob active abilities, they only get the job traits.

From my understanding, they do. Subbing WAR gives them both Attack Bonus and Double Attack, so I assume they get Defense Bonus too.

IThis would actually be a good test. Could force Blackpearl to lvl BST sometime and tell him to test it xD

oh good my wyvern might parse 2.6% instead of 2.5%!

These kinds of complexities, on top of the fact that we dont get many pts, Ive resorted to subbing Blu to duo with. It would, however be nice to copy cocoon to my wyvern whenever he gets hate. That would just be nice lol. DRG Solo/Duo ftw

The real question is can I find a PT where I can use something other than /nin without being a mp sponge. /sam with third eye should be more defensive than /war, maybe if I'm carefull I'll be able to make it work.

and ya wyvern gets like 50-70% acc(without AF hands) so Zanshin will help it a lot.

heres a possibility. drg/brd, some people will dissagree but when me and a fellow drg thought about it, its actually a good idea when u dont have a brd in the pt. just pop on a buff, may it be minuet or madrigal, stack atk and acc gear, and just do as much dmg as u can, and when u get to 50% hp or less, pop a threnody and ur wyvern will cure u if u macro in ur AF helm. self-efficient, not too mp spungish, and a good support sub if u have a smn or rdm instead of brd in the pt. Use what you can

With BRD sub the healing breath trigger is 33% HP. (value with AF Helm on)

what she said, also if I'm not mistaken it will only heal you, not PT members, with brd sub (whm rdm or blm subs heal at 1/2 hp for any PT member with AF helm)

Also healing people at 50% of their max hp is not very safe for most exp mobs.

Thanks for the advice, non-DRGs, but we'll take it from here.

/SAM will become as good for DRG as it will become for any other job that can use a two handed weapon.

In other words, I get the feeling /WAR will still be better.

Oh and Jakey - sup 3min super jump

Edit: Also, wyvern damage is pretty static. Good use of Empathy does more for it than Wyrm Mail.

sup taking hate every fight cause you outparse everyone in the PT

otherwise I agree with you but still hard to judge /sam untill the update finishes
