So we were doing CoP 4-2, and it was time to kill the professor.

I suggested clearing Fomor hate, as the guide on ffxiclopedia had suggested. Dristen started XDing and swearing up and down that fomors would aggro no matter what your fomor hate is, and that ffxiclopedia and all the people's testimonies on allakhazam were wrong.

This would be fine, I guess...until he started calling me an idiot to his social, and being an all-around douche--i know this because someone from his social, who was not there, told me about it some time later.

Dristen, I can understand you disagreeing, god knows allakhazam and even ffxiclopedia have been wrong, but you didn't have to be such a dick about it.

I remembered when doing 2-5 one of my friends walked right into the library. Not one Fomor aggroed him. He never killed a fomor before. How I laughed as I rushed in to save him and aggroed everything and died a horrible death.
 
I dont know a single person that doesnt talk behind peoples back in their social ls, its what ls's are for. Dristen is a cool guy, we all do it.

I think i've talked about you in my social lol, the time you camped right on top of my pt in garliege citadel. Just gives you somethin to talk about i guess.

I kinda disagree here. It's not what a Social LS is for. Now, if he had known fr a fact that someone was completely wrong, and they wouldn't budge on the subject it might be appropriate to vent to your Social, but not to call people names behind their, you never know, it could get back to em.

IMO, if ya got something to say to someone, say it. The cmment doesn't have t be rude, but in the end could be more prductive then creating slander.
 
Fomors do not, in fact, aggro at all (low HP, sound, resting, what have you) if you have no fomor hate. If Resauchamet in the safehold says you have a "fairly good head start", then so long as you're not in party/zone for a fomor kill between checking with him and reaching Sacrarium, the Sacrarium fomors won't aggro there either.

Honestly the better question is, why on earth are you doing a CoP run with someone so blatantly ignorant that they actually think they know better than 2.5+ years of reasonably common knowledge? I can't imagine that degree of intelligence is a remotely useful asset to CoP ...

(As for the social LS bit, everyone in the LS either didn't have the guts to tell him he was wrong, was too ignorant themselves to *know* he was wrong, or wasn't on. Either that, or someone did tell him off but you didn't hear about it. I know if someone spouts something flat-out wrong like that in my social, I smack them upside the head and correct them.)

Does this apply to the ones in Aht Urgan area, or do they have a totally different system?
 
Different system , Fomor in Toau will aggro Sound and blood. (I aggro them before by sound and blood, killed 0 fomors back then)
 
That explains why he disagreed then. He said that he had never seen a fomor before until Aht Urhgan, and he got aggroed by one there.

I said that those fomors could be different fomors from the Sacrarium ones, and they had a laugh about that. He said something like Hecteyes in Den of Rancor are the same as Hecteyes elsewhere, or something like that.

The Aht Urghan fomor, and Tavnazian fomor (notincluding the rest of the mindartian fomor) are very different... The fomor in Mindartia were soldiers/people that died... The reason they dont attack you is because theyre your friend, or 'ally'... And will not attack until you begin to betray them..

The ones in Aht Urghan will attack you anyway because youre a foreign person, and the war that took place was between humanoids, so they cant tell the difference.

But I've hated Dristen since I first met him he is a irespectable(sp) douche. You have no idea how quiet my old LS is when hes blisted.

If he had never seen a fomor until ToAU then he bought his acct because you have to pass a shitload of them to get through Phomonia Aq.

Not necessarily. He could have been one of those idiots who got their ToAU ferry pass, went and explored the area, encountered a fomor then continued with CoP.

But I am still inclined to agree with you.
