Driver's Licence

I'm confused how driving is that hard where people can fail their tests that bad. I aced my test the first time at age 16 and the test wasn't just some "Drive around the block" type deal. It was driving, turning, parking, parallel parking, K turns, and so much more. The test I had was about 20 minutes too, not some 5 minute job like I hear so often about other places. I don't know if it's a NY State thing or just the place I went, but we take driving seriously here.

I guess I did have a real good teacher. My dad is a UPS driver and can fit his UPS truck into places most people can't even park their regular cars in lol

20 MINUTE TEST!!!! IS THAT IT. Jesus christ.

lol I figured that was long. I guess for the States it is. No idea about you foreigners :D lol

Grats on the upgrade Genk. Now you can drink and drive!

The 401 was alright, it was the Queensway in Ottawa that used to freak me the hell out. It seemed like that stretch from Bank St to the Rideau Centre was hell.

Have you drove through Montreal yet?!?! Effin crazies out that way, not-to-mention the highways are in horrible shape, there are no shoulders and the lanes are made for K-cars, tiny!!

Good old G Classes.

I hate driving in the GTA sooo much. The 401 is a disaster between Mississauga and Whitby.

401 from 400 to Avenue. Awesome.

I didnt know so many people here knew what the 401 was o.O. I felt like the only one in Ontario who played lol.

I got cut off the other day by some asshat in an SUV, He wouldnt let me merge, which forced me to slam on my brakes and pull in behind him.. Then we both proceeded to race down the Gardnier trying to cut each other off. I pulled back after about 20 seconds lol.

Toronto driving makes you strong.. Well, makes you drive insane anyways.

I would just like to say... its spelled "License" :p that is all

Woops!

Drive on it again! And come visit when you do. I have beer that needs to be drank.

Its not that its hard, the G2 can be taken when your 16-17, so your still fresh to driving. Its when you have to take the G is when you need to break all your bad habits and drive like your Drivin Ms.Daisy. I tend to drive with my knees when lighting a smoke and changing the radio, or driving with one hand and fishing for CD's in my back seat.

Lol Ive seen some UPS drivers pull off some crazy shit when they park. Saw one do a flying skid across my shipping department when he was running a little late.

I know!! So many inconsiderate Dbags in TO.

And yes there are many canucks that play, many from the GTA. I have met a couple who have since quit but we still hang out go to dinner and such!

It's unfortunate the many ppl lack the intelligence (or maybe just the logic) to realize that racing to avoid allowing someone to merge or cut infront of someone else saves them MAYBE 20 seconds, in the meantime taking many ppls lives into their own hands. You know what.. we should BURN THEM ALL!!! RAWR THEY FAIL AT LIFE (angst)

Ive raced to get to work on time, but I figure that if I was flying through traffic and hit someone, id be a hell of a lot later dealing with cops / ambulance, than if I just took the normal routes at normal speed.

It's just not worth it you know :) Think of the pile up on the 400 yesterday.. what upwards of 40-50 cars? AND traffic was driving slow.

One of the ladies at work mentioned the "snow squalls" on the 400 on yesterday. Said upwards of 100+ cars involved, 2 Main accidents of 30 cars each. They closed the 400 after that lol. People need to seriously learn how to drive. My sister once said "Once the first snow falls, everyone forgets how to drive"

That's more true than you know. I see it every year. One of two things happen, you get the dangerously cautious drivers that do more bad than good "riding the breaks" or the overly confident drivers that forget what black ice is and take out a shit load of drivers on the road with one cut of their wheel.

Omg, yeah so that 100 car pile up on the 400 made the stupid 401 backed up all the way to Oshawa. I didn't hit smooth sailing until...eh I'd say just before the DVP turn off.

I live in Kawartha Lakes area but during the week I live in Mississauga to go to school, because I sure as hell am not living in Toronto, especially Rexdale area.

I used to go up to Bobcaygeon every summer for my fishing / campboozing funtimes :)

The thing is that the weather wasn't that horrible, it was just really cold out. Glad I live north of the 401, don't have to deal with much traffic until the summer when people go north on the 400 to the cottages.

Maybe we should post pics of our cars so we know who NOT to chase down on the 401? lol

LMAO problem with mine... is it looks like every other Sales Rep on the raod :) Black Ford Tarus SE... with the brunette behind the wheel. PLUS.. I'm such a pleasant driver no one would chase me down (I'd likely park my car and jump out to pay you a visit)

"Oh I am ever so sorry, I seem to have cut you off, perhaps we should have a sit down and discuss how I have wronged you. No? Oh that is quite alright, if you would be so kind as for me to continue on my way, I have to be going"

Mine usually deals with a quick outburst of profanity, then I light a smoke and call you an ass.

Lol the Tarus.. Those come standard in your salary package when you get promoted to sales rep dont they? :)

Congratulations <3

Heh, yeah. That is how I learned to drive. Very precise maneuvers like that one.

I miss hearing all the good bands on the way home too. In the states, you don't hear bands like Matthew Good Band and Tragically Hip. Sorry, your post reminded me of that.

Oh, and you guys think the 401 is bad? Well, it is, but get this. I-75 through downtown Atlanta through the I-85 merge in snowy weather... with Mexicans who have never seen snow before, let alone drive in it!!!

Don't forget Sam Roberts!! I used to listen to Copperhead Road on the way up taking back roads.
