Hey guys,
I've been making some papercrafts lately and I thought I'd share one I finished recently. I made the DRK AF helm, the Chaos Burgeonet. I am not taking any credit for making the papercraft pattern, I just found the pattern online and made it. Here are some pics, sorry if they are kinda big, I took them with my iPhone:
Here's the first step, cutting out the pieces.
Then you fold up the pieces and get them glued together. (This piece is the other horn)
Almost done...
Here's the finished model.
Here's another angle.
The pattern I followed said that it was life-sized, but I guess my head is too big because there's no way in hell that it would ever fit me. But it did fit my 5 year old son:
He's about to bust out a 2k Spinning Slash.
Steve is one of those Dark Knights that prefer a Greatsword over a Scythe lol.
If anyone is unfamiliar with papercrafting, or if anyone wants to make their own, check in this spoiler for more info:
Thanks for checking out my papercraft helmet, it looks pretty sweet on my desk. I have a bunch of other papercrafts that I have made too, but they aren't FFXI related, so I didn't bother to post them.
Take it easy!

Spoiler:
In order to make your own papercrafts, you need to get some stuff together first.
1. Get some nice sturdy cardstock paper. I got mine from Target in the office section. The thicker the better. You can use regular printer paper, but your models will be flimsy.
2. Go out and buy an X-acto blade hobby knife, a self-healing cutting mat, and some normal white Elmer's glue. You can get this stuff from any arts and crafts store.
3. Download and install the program Pepakura. All you need is the 'viewer' to open up .pdo files, and you can see a 3d model of your papercraft, and you can open it up to see where all the parts go and all that. Then just print them off and you are good to go.
4. To make FFXI papercrafts, I suggest going to this dude named Kaizo's page. He's got tons of awesome FFXI papercraft designs you can download and make. He's got all the AF helmets from all the jobs, a life-size mandragora, airships, moogles, and lots of other stuff. There's a guy out there named GoblinGuy too, and he makes really good ones too. I also get models from 4chan in the /po/ section, but that site has lots of 'questionable' stuff on it, so don't go there at work lol.
5. Print the patterns off, cut them out, fold them up correctly, then glue the pieces together. I squirt a blob of glue out on a scrap piece of cardstock, and I use a toothpick to 'paint' it on the tabs. If glue gets on the printed sections, it'll look crappy.
In no time, you'll have a sweet papercraft collection.
