Heres is what i want to do.
Since I have a Video Card Capable of dual Screen display (ATI Radeon 256 X700 pro) i was wondering if it was possible to display FFXI on one screen and then display the Windows Desktop on the other. So if i playing afk and have some down time i can work on school work or play a NES emulator on the other screen.

My question is is this possible? and will FFXI let it be displayed like that? Since i can't hook it up right now due to the fact that im broke and cant afford the RF adaptor. I thought id ask and see if anyone else has tried this.

Yes, with two screens this should be possible.

Just "Identify" the screens, set the one you want the game to run on
as the 1(primary) and it should work.

Getting late here though, but I'll try it out tomorrow.

It doesn't work unless you run Windower(To which, why would you need two monitors?) I've tried it before. FFXI still thinks it's being yanked out of full screen. Excellent job Square-Enix.

If i run the windower to Just have it on the one screen Will SE bust me for using it? I dont wanna cheat. i just want to be able to multi task with my computer.

And i really dont wanna get my Account revoke for using a 3rd party program

Just use it, theres no way they can possibly tell if you are unless you say something about it. It's illegal for them to run any sort of system scanning to see what process you're running.

It's kinda bullshit anyway that they made the game like that. If you have a PC most of the time you don't want to use it just for games and want to do other things at the same time. People using hax, and bots are scum though.

Well, I got it to "work"...
Through the tv-output I have a projector installed.
I got ffxi to run in there, but as soon as I moved the mouse
outside the game-frame, I got tossed out. :x

Seems like the only option is using a windower.
(I have no good site's to give you in this matter.)

Basically all the hook on the ffxi screen does is check to see if that's the window in focus, aka the one being actively used. If you lose focus on the FFXI window, you will be booted. There's a complicated way around it without using windower, but it involves self-emulating on your pc and requires a lot of customization. Basically, use the windower.

Where might i find a windower? I'm not sure were to even start to look for one

windower dont work with intel vid cards {sigh}
guess I got to buy a new card
