Just throwin this out there:

If you could have any two one handed relic weapons to dual wield what would they be?

Post your choices based on job limitations then based on no job limitations.

The only one that can work with job limitations is RDM doing Excalibur and Mandau.

and Excalibur & Aegis

Thats what Rooi has (but proably has no Real life)

There are others like relic horn and dagger for bard or Great Katana and bow for SAM. But those are not dual wielded weapons which kinda limits the use on damage. RDM is the only job which can dual wield two weapons at the same time (SAM can use two weapons, but using a bow effects the use of GK or vice versa).

Yeah, the question clearly states dual wield. Not which jobs can equip multiple relics.

RDM Excal Mandau has got to rock.

Excal Aegis should make a PLD well nigh invincible.

Wouldn't the aegis alone do that? I don't remember anything that excaliber has that would improve survivability; although a Hauteclaire would.

Thats what I thought but Iv been told that Company Sword is better.

Yeah, Aegis contributes most to that survivability, but Excal would certainly help you dispatch a mob faster. However, I've heard rumors that you get a few seconds of invincible after using Knights of the Round. I doubt it though.

Excal has 12.62 dps + Additional Effect of 25% of current HP damage + Hidden Effect of occasionally doing 2.5x normal damage.

Company Sword (in full party) has 12.72 dps

Considering Company Sword is infinitely easier to get though...

I would dual weild Gjallarhorn and Aegis.
And yes, I do know how to play a flute with one hand.

Excalibur would help with the old keeping hate thing, additional effect: 300 or more has gotta help on that front, while the shield block on aegis must be a wet dream for most paladins.

But yes, red mage is the only job that can wield two relics, although, I'd love to see a THF/NIN go Mandau/Mandau if that's possible. The damage would be insane.

The additional effect dmg from Excalibur dont give any hate sadly.

Mandau+lv4 Relic is possible, and there are a few people that do like that.
I've seen 1 thf and 1 nin with full relic in main and lv4 relic in off, for the base dmg.

Yall have to remeber Excalibur has a Hidden efect: INvincible that kicks in randomly to nulify damage

So yes Excalabur adds a bit of Defenseive capability to a PLD albe-it random and unable to be counted on in a pinch situation

Hafto admit, I've not once heard about Excalibur doing that.

I really doubt there is any truth in this statement.
If it was infact so, I dont see a reason why every PLD that has this sword really regrets getting it.

I have, although I'm not entirely sure it's true. The first NA to ever get Excalibur across all servers reported that occasionally (read: very rarely), he'd take 0 damage shortly after having used the WS. However, after that people haven't reported anything of the like. Although I suppose it is possible that it gives a weak phalanx effect (with no icon) shortly after...

I'd dual wield Relic Penis and Excalibur. That way I'd have 13 knights to help me "wield" my relic penis.

I never fail to be impressed by the fact that a straight guy manages to say gayer things than I...
