simple question.

do they increase the amount of kick attacks, or simply increase the damage done by a kick attack

i believe its the latter, but would like to ask to be certain. thanks.

Increases their base damage by 30 or so I think, has no effect on how often it activates. Also believe it doesn't work on WSes, if that matters any.

Yes, dune boots, kung foo shoes and wulong shoes only increase the damage done by kicks. Melee hose, Bahamut's Hose and Strike subligar are what increases the kick attack chance.
