DVD-RW WoTG installation problem

I finally got around to grabbing the expansion today, and when I put the disc in the tray to install, it fails to recognize that there is any disc in there at all. I have never had a problem installing, and if I recall, ToAU was a DVD-only disc, and I have never had a problem installing that one. What am I doing wrong? Help appreciated.
 
Did you recently reformat and forget to install your DVD drive?
 
Yes, my drivers are installed. I did just format my hard drive not too long ago, but I'm pretty sure I installed everything I needed to. I'm using a NEC 3550a if that helps at all, but I've been trying to download/troubleshoot things for two hours now with no success. I've also considered just finding a WoTG torrent since I have the new code right here, but that won't solve my problem for the long term.
 
the torrent might still have some peopl seeding it although i just stopped seeding the eu torrent this morning.
 
Try playing a DVD movie. If that works, than it's not your drivers.
 
For it to read a DVD disc?
 
Reading files off a disc and decoding a movie are different things. Neither requires a special driver, but you do need DVD codecs installed to play movies.

Psh, so you can steal it and sell it on the Black market for $4.39 like you did with my ToAU disk? I don't think soooo~!

Ok, but in all seriousness, I'm more upset with the fact that my drive isn't recognizing DVD's more than not being able to install. I can successfully play a DVD movie, so I don't know wtf the problem is. I'm gonna download the ISO file tonight, but its annoying to have to keep doing this.
