First of all congratulations to our party! I think that we are the first on the server to get there! Jentheultimate (52 PLD), Mark (75 BST), Pincarl (75 THF), Tyvek (75 RDM), Craven, (75 RDM), Silrye (75 BLM), and Justarius(75 BLM). It did take 4 hours, be prepared for a headache. Make sure to use your sneak/invise as there is a lot that agro's even to the 75s of the party.

***It is highly recommened to have a thf or a lot of lamian fang keys, you will go through about 6 (??) iron gates****

(On map 1 of Arrapago Reef) From the 1st gate to the COR CS in AR go straight north. Unlock the 2 gate. Hug the left wall going NW in direction until you get to A on the map at http://ffxi-atlas.com/nav/?act=show&id=arrapago-reef .

**At this point even though you don't zone you are now on map 2 of AR.

(On map 2 of Arrapago Reef) You are going to go to point C on the map 2. So follow the right wall till you get to a place to go two directions at G-8. Go left across the ship and hug the right wall (the west wall) until you get to F-10. Here there will be a little room to the right. Dont go in there but past it. At G-10/11 there will be a little room to the left... same thing go past it.

** Side note if you take a right at the split at G-8 I believe that this will take you to g-5 and the way to the Ilrusi Atoll staging area.

(On map 3 of Arrapago Reef) To startwith, your ultimate desitnation on this map is F-6. If you find an easier way, please post it. Ok this is the hardest part and where we had several deaths. In this part, there are Nix Sontress's that are TRUE SITE, so be prepared. But if you follow the right route, i don't think you should run into them. When you enter you are in J-9. If you stay to the right you will come to a spot that is blocked by a drop-off. Go back until you can go right again. Stay right until you get to another place that you are blocked from getting on a ship (should be H-9). turning around again, follow to the right. You will come to a locked door. Go through the door and to the right. There will be another door. Go through and take a hard left. You will enter a tunnel. Beware there are two imps, but you are close to the zone so it is possible to zone them.

(Caedarva Mire) You will zone in to CM on map 2, Dvucca Isle. You are at G-6. Sneak and Invis should be enough to get you through. Go south over several drop-offs. You will zone into AR again.

(On map 5 of Arrapago Reef) this a straight walk through huggin the right wall.

(Caedarva Mire) You are back to map 2 of CM. The staging area is at I-9. You will go through a very short tunnel. ** I don't remember the exact directions, but it should be pretty linear.

I believe that the info in this post is fairly accurate. But it did take us 4 hours, so if there are little errors, please forgive me. Rate me up if it helps you!

Yeah when i trekked there by myself i got to the First locked door you mention about on the 3rd map of the reef. I had to stop there because I didn't have a key. But it seems you can pick one up in C. Mre early before getting to A. Reef.

you guys weren't the first but grats all the same that's a long ass staging point

I got there last night with some people, although I honestly can't tell you how. Only thing I know is that once you get to the ship for the COR quest, just head generally NW. We ran into several gates along the way, but I think we only had to use 2 keys. Most were either unlocked or we were able to unlock them just by being on the right side.

A way of doing this by only passing 1 locked gate.

I attuned myself to this staging point tonight, with only my good friend Seteyu as 68 PLD/WHM to back me up (I went as 74 WAR/NIN). It took us quite some time, and after the startling discoverey that Lamia agro to sight, I lost 1600 exp and spent 30 minutes with my face in the mud waiting for HP aggro mobs to be cleared. A stressful journey to say the least. Anyway, here's my way:

Before you begin, insist that the group be small. Too large of a group would be hell to keep sneaked and invised would slow you down a lot, unless you have so much firepower that you can mow down aggroed mobs without any trouble. If this is not the case, try to form a party of less than 4 members, preferably with the ability to cast their own non-detection spells.

Beginning from the town of Nashmau, you will want to exit from either the north or east gates into Caedarva Mire and continue north to the Arrapago Reef zone. The route is shown below. Not that once the route enters the clearing at (J-8), Imps will be present and are True Sight aggro. Watch out.

Once you enter Arrapago Reef, you will encounter mainly sound aggro monsters, being primarily undead. However, Lamia are sight aggro monsters. Jhun (doomed type) are sound aggro, but have the special property of falling asleep during daylight, so they will not aggro from 6:00 to 20:00. This area is also highly populated by Imps and again, being true sight aggro mobs, take great caution around them. There is one locked gate you will have to open. This gate (circled in green) is the first you will encounter. Me and Seteyu were lucky enough to pass through this gate when another group opened it, but otherwise you will require a Lamia Fang Key to open it, dropped by any Lamia type monster (so far as I know). I will leave obtaining that to other people to talk about... I've never tried myself. There is a 2nd gate very soon after the first, but no key is required for it. The path you must follow to get through Arrapago Reef takes you to a remote area of Caedarva Mire, inaccessible by any other path. This is the route:

At this point, you will enter a second map within Arrapago Reef. At point C, the zone into Caedarva Mire, there is another Iron Gate but it again requires no key to open. Once you enter it, head due west and follow the path to the zone. The path to follow is this:

Now that you are back into Caedarva Mire, you're very close to the Staging Point. This sections of Caedarva is populated by Lamia, Imps, Doomed and all the same familiar mobs as Arrapago Reef. Don't let your guard drop just because the area feels safer. The route to the Staging Point is marked on the map, but it is not entirely accurate. Remember to keep to the left wall. You will reach a cave tunnel. Continue on the left wall after exiting it and you will eventually meet the Staging Point.

I hope this guide helps anyone hoping to become attuned this exceedingly difficult and annoying Staging Point. Thank you to Khali for laying out the vague directions I had to get there at all. And of course thanks to my valiant paladin Seteyu for keeping me sneaked for 2 hours. ^^;;

If there are any issues with being able to view the images, let me know. I'm still a bit new to image hosting as far as messageboards are concerned.

devi you left out a map >.> you need the 3rd map. Reaching Point C on the 2nd map takes you to the third map... the third map has locked gates.

That was a pain in the ass to get to. Me and a group did it a couple days ago and even tried the Assault Mission there. The 82,000 points drew us in lol Needless to say we failed and still have no idea how to do it.

on the third map you just go south and you'll reach the gate with no need of a key and zone :D

Wow, I was close to getting this staging point while looking for the one int he Reef ><

Only need 1 key to get there, that door before COR ???. Hardest part is getting past the area with 4 imps.

Solution for IMPs in that area!

Bring plenty of Silent Oils....and go PLD/THF!

IF they aggro you.....you can Flee! If they somehow bind you and you get lucky enough not to get cut down by magic....Invincible....then Flee once bind wears off!!

lol

I never ran into any other locked gate. Only the one I listed. I did run through a short section of map 3, but all you have to do is run due west and follow the tunnel, and you don't run into any locked gates before zoning into Caedarva Mire.

do the lamia's in C. Mire drop fang keys also?
