Dynamis and Limbus Get a Makeover! (04/08/2008)

what i mean is since when they introduced limbus , it was huge step in right way , short , fun and challenging then dynamis *ya i know they are easy now*
but my point is we still going to use the same old strategy we use now

Most of the relic gear is just a recollor of the gear, these won't be any different.
I mean why put in a completely new design?

Anyway, for the Limbus prices going down I'm pretty happy.
And I'm sure that our people going for relic weapons will be equally pleased with the Dynamis entry fee going in half.

yes, I am rather happy about the lowered price myself, but with that said, its gonna make it that much cheaper for all the people who have wanted to do a relic, but couldnt afford it. One main thing everyone is missing, even if currency prices drop by half, thats still a shit load of gill!

oh yea, more gimps getting relic weapons now....

oh yea, cause somethings in this game are only allowed for a certain kind of people aren't they? :nono:

this statement is fucking ignorant

That cor relic..., I was expecting something similar to Luzaf's armor....not captain crunch XD
Blu looks the best imo.

As for the dynamis fee, does this mean currency will drop in price too?

Remember when Peacock charm was confrimed as a drop in Under Observation?
Same reaction, and why? Because they were pissed they had to put more work into getting their own item. Possibly why he's saying this ..., too fucking bad I suppose.

This is kind of like when they lowered how much experience it took to get from the 50s to the 75s. Old time players where pissed, saying stuff like "Great, ever noob has a 75."
I've been playing sense day 2 of the PS2 USA release, and I am glad leveling my SMN has taken less EXP then my BLM. XD

On the topic: Good news for me: Perhaps the dream of a stage 5 relic g. katana isn't thatfar fetched & Yay for new people in Dynamis pricing. The new AF will bring some new faces to the hurting Dynamis groups. Bad News: Will I have to stay till I get BLU AF2?! /cry

I think you guys are a little off. Some items really should be only obtained by the most diehard of players. No matter how much you think everything in the game should be accessible by all and to some extent it really is, certain items really do need to be out of reach for many others. If all items in this game turn into common drops accessible by all, they lose their value and the accomplishments themselves holds little meaning.

You'll be surprised by the number of people owning or upgrading a relic and sucking at this game. Dynamis relic just requires money, not skill. But meh.

Maybe it will be worth getting a 6 man team and farm bastok for coins& wootz now!

I think you're missing the point, Lavi. Nobody giving rebuttal to mdk is saying that Relic Weapons will be obtainable by the general population. Hell, how much of the general population does Dynamis? Even with a lowered fee, and if attendance overall increases, sure - we might see an increase of relic weapons. But I highly doubt that Joe Shit the Ragman will be concerned entirely with fast-tracking a relic weapon when he won't even farm to either a) sponsor runs for Attestations, b) buy currency from bazaar sellers, or c) form his own shell to get his own relic weapon.

You people have a lot more respect for the average player than I ever did. Even with gear the cheapest it's been since the game came out at least half the people I see still gimp it up at all times. It's not like this is going to benefit the average player. It's going to be a godsend for pyramid schemes like Limitless though.

You're right about the fact that relics only require money (and a little northlands spamming), but I disagree with the skill part. If you're able to amass this much gil in today's economy without reliance on high-ticket drops in a short enough timeframe that you don't become hopeless about getting a relic, then you have skill in at least one part of this game. And I would safely assume that most people upgrading a relic are doing it for their DD job which, let's be honest here, requires minimal skill. PLDs upgrading Aegis and BRDs working on Gjallarhorn are a different story since those jobs require a bit more coordination.

If a player is in this situation where they can gather the necessary gil for a relic, I'm also under the assumption that their gear is maxed as far as sellable gear is concerned. I would probably cry and apologize for contradicting you mdk if I happen to run across a full-time af thf with a mandau. Hopefully the playerbase is not THAT dumb...

This is true.

Actually, I have to somewhat disagree with the relic statement. People that obtained their relic weapons by, say, sponsoring their LS's Dynamis runs, I believe, will be rather pissed off. As now, when they will not only increase drop rate (whether or not this also applies to coins we'll have to wait and see), they also cut the cost to do Dynamis in half. This pretty much halves the value of their relic weapons, and halves the effort put in to obtaining them.

People that bought all the coins themselves will also be rather pissed off I believe, as the cost of coins will likely be reduced, while economy stays pretty much the same. Whether or not this changes in the future remains to be seen.

Carste you don't need skill to buy gil to afford a relic =p.

Well, arguments about relic aside, I find this update to be extremely exciting. I can't wait for it to come out! Our LS Bank just literally doubled in value, lol. This is great. No one is really coming away from this update notice with the realization that SE pretty much finally listened to us by lowering Dynamis cost. I think this will be extremely beneficial to all shells currently doing Dynamis.

Like 50 mil is something an avarage player can get on a whim, while still having to farm the attestations and fragments..

Right...

The price lowering has been requested by the community for years now, and yes Relics will become just a little bit more common.
But they will not be available to the general population THAT easy.

Maybe it will be worth getting a 6 man team and farm bastok for coins& wootz now!

I doubt even with the lowering of price you'll be able to get more then the cost to enter Dynamis with those numbers.
Lower entry will definitely mean lower selling prices for both the wootz and the bynes.
An avarage of 2 bynes per mob, and one wootz per 10~15 mobs if you're lucky.
Oh and maybe even a 100 here and there, but expect to lose money.
