The problem is you haven't forgotton how challenging it is, nor how much effort actually went into it. There is the possibility that said poster was walked right through it, though.

I breezed through the Windurst rank missions, and nailed Rank 10 before I hit 70. Do I feel Rank 10 is any less of an accomplishment than Promathia? No. Why? Because it wasn't just me, it was a group effort, and establishing myself with said group made the victories feel, well, more victorious.

Dynamis, barring Windurst, has been a huge success for the shell I run with. We've got a good core group, and we've pulled off a lot of stuff that I wouldn't think was possible otherwise. I don't feel that any win in Dynamis - X is any less than any other because of this.

For the most part, CoP hasn't been particularly difficult for our group either. In fact, thus far the only issue we ran into was at 6-4, and we even overcame that.

Varying degrees of difficulty do not, rather should not, detract from any sense of accomplishment on anything.

In an extreme attempt to get back on topic, I haven't heard anyone speaking of how this will "devalue" AF+1 or Homam/Nashira, and if I've missed it, I'm sorry.

People will now be able to afford the 30k entrance fee.

1 word, WOOT!

oh and PS sell all your dyna/limbus currency now!

I am so glad of the price reduction! It was making me so sad when I came back and my coins were worth less than the cost to enter limbus on some runs. Trumped with making money being all the harder I won't feel so bad on a bad limbus run.

As far as dynamis, this might be a good time for me to start looking for a shell. ^.^

I think the drop rate on coins in dynamis would have to be pretty large to see a change of price. In the end its all supply and demand. Has to be more supply than demand for the price to change, and once that does that 500k price tag will mirror the 1mil one because a lot of people fund their runs via coins, right? Guess in the end some shells will benifit more to the price change than others in the long run. I'd say it'd take at least another two years before it trickles down to the adverage joe getting relic weapons, and by that time you'd have to hope people still have an interest in doing dynamis.

Wait.
(CoP)
VS
(Relic)
lawl

So, crafting/farming and grinding the same 2 dynamis zones for weeks on end to fund a relic is more of an accomplishment than working with a team to get through a rewarding storyline?

These are no doubt different achievements, but a player should feel a huge sense of accomplishment for completing both. If you don't, then you're not even enjoying the game and have no real reason to play.

Here's how m$ weighs the two accomplishments:
Relic = 40 pts,
CoP = 40 pts,
Therefore, Relic = CoP.
And everyone knows what microsoft has to say is law.

Personally I had a hard time with some CoP fights ( pre nerf), but that was just cause people didn't buy their medecine, didn't read about the bc etc... Once we kicked our whm and replaced him, we got sea in no time lol.

Afterwards, did you give yourself a deserving pat on the back or did you just say "bored. what's next on my checklist."?

fixed.

I think I burst into tears during one mission because it just didnt seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel until one of my buddies intervined and set up a dream team.

Then the long stretches... where you were up til the wee hours of the morning... just to get passed a mission. I was so exhausted when I finally got sea... that I just tabbed through the cs and logged off right there surrounded by all the neon colors. Following with beating cop at like 5 am or something when it was 'okay.. one last try...'

CoP, at least when I did it, was far from "easy". Most people took multiple tries to complete the harder missions near the end, getting through certain missions was considered near-impossible without the optimal job setup, and it was not uncommon to hear about people trying literally dozens of attempts at particularly difficult fights.

For myself it was aggravating having people basically tell me to level another job to 75 before attempting it, since PLD was generally considered to be dead weight in the vast majority of CoP. Screw those people btw, I did it on PLD anyway.

Zilart was easy, at least by the time we got it here, since the majority of that content wasn't really engineered with level 75's in mind. CoP was, and while the combination of better average gear and higher average merits coupled with a lowered difficulty on several fights have definitely made it easier than it was, it's still not the sort of ridiculous walkthrough that the ZM were.

It's the journey, no the accoplishment.

Can't wait to see the new drop rates. Crazy how limbus price is getting reduced

It's the journey, not the accomplishment.

I never fully understood that axiom. I mean sure, it can apply for a few things, but in real life, most people celebrate the accomplishment more than the journey (or they celebrate both equally).

I mean, if I'm hungry and I get food, I'm going to be happier about getting the food into my stomach than the trip to the grocers.

i love reading the doomsday posts of people every time an update appears. it gives me a laugh every time.

in any case. i'm happy about this update. nuf said.

eating isn't an accomplishment, its a requirement <.<;

A better analogy would be your birthday. When its your birthday you celebrate you managed to survive another year, even though you might have hated the journey there. Then when you die, others celebrate (or mourn, depends on who you are and who they are, and how you chose to look at it) that you got game over.

Because let's face it, if there truly is a heaven, people wouldn't mourn, they would celebrate and cheer that you managed to accomplish something they won't in their entire lifetime. And on that note, there's only 2 documented countries in the entire world where you celebrate people's deaths and smile and laugh during the ceremony. And its for an entire other reason, namely that sadness makes people more prone to diseases, and your friend or family members would not like you to get sick. So you honor them by smiling and laughing in order to live a more healthy life.
