Dynamis and Limbus Get a Makeover! (04/08/2008)

i did it on thf when it was hard. like year after sea released idk but was rly early. and yeah optimal job setups and ell our fights were kinda fucked up we did fights even w/o tanks and never lost though we lost on Omega that we had to bring a tank and on 8-2 that we did it like 20 times and the last try we decided to make a dif setup and do tweo runs or so idk bad memory :P

/em is slightly afraid of Amidamaru''s signature

hmm maybe i'll get lucky before i have to go to basic lol

the blue af makes me think of the rdm af, more refined and more professional

looks like the best of them all, hope the stats reflect that way as well

CoP, at least when I did it, was far from "easy". Most people took multiple tries to complete the harder missions near the end, getting through certain missions was considered near-impossible without the optimal job setup, and it was not uncommon to hear about people trying literally dozens of attempts at particularly difficult fights.

For myself it was aggravating having people basically tell me to level another job to 75 before attempting it, since PLD was generally considered to be dead weight in the vast majority of CoP. Screw those people btw, I did it on PLD anyway.

Zilart was easy, at least by the time we got it here, since the majority of that content wasn't really engineered with level 75's in mind. CoP was, and while the combination of better average gear and higher average merits coupled with a lowered difficulty on several fights have definitely made it easier than it was, it's still not the sort of ridiculous walkthrough that the ZM were.

Our tank has been 100% PLD the entire way through Promathia - even in the Promies. So he's right there with you lol.

OT: I like the look of COR AF2; it'd make me want to actually level it.

Well not quite, pld through COP is a lot better now than it was when COP first came out.

I hear you, he only did the original 3 promies as PLD pre-update though, despite a lot of "PLD can't tank the 30-cap promies".

I never fully understood that axiom. I mean sure, it can apply for a few things, but in real life, most people celebrate the accomplishment more than the journey (or they celebrate both equally).

I mean, if I'm hungry and I get food, I'm going to be happier about getting the food into my stomach than the trip to the grocers.

Yah, but that's only assuming nothing happened note worthy on said trip... But, what if your tummy was rumblin' and you headed off to the store and was met with the sight of your new found love of your life in the produce section... and started out with 'Hello'.. followed with, are those fresh grapes in your hand?'.... and you both just got this gleam in your eyes... and knew at that moment they were the one...

Or you stumbled on a hundred dollar bill between the bread isle and the meat department..

You'll miss out on the journey if you just walk in, grab something from the deli, and abruptly walk out with your food in hand like any other trip to the market.

Kinda compare that to those who just get run through missions without putting forth any effort. Or compared to like when I did Limit Breaks verses those who do them now. When I did the limit break in Xarabard we went with an alliance + and had to turn people away. Now you grab a few people and bam u go back to leveling up until your next one.

At long last, the highly anticipated relic gear sets of the blue mage, corsair, and puppetmaster jobs are here! Rounding out the standard 5-piece sets, the more recently added back and waist items will also be added to September's version update. Players with these jobs can now look forward to obtaining the ingredient items required to temper their artifact and relic gear with even greater enhancements!

Gotta find a 6 man team to low man dynamis yes, since my dynamis ls doesn't want me anymore.

They didn't mention AF+1, but I assume they are there too for the new Jobs.

For the simple minded... Whats in bold specifies AF and Relic +1 upgrades...

On another note, I'm excited that they're adding relic to AU jobs and it wouldn't ruin the storyline considering Dynamis is whatever Diabolos wants it to be.

I think he means as long as other jobs can't use the same weapon?

Cop was a challenge when i did it you lost exp points in the boss fights and that damn airship fight with omega/ultima was a pain in the neck. I also recall one of the promys was a lot harder was it holla maybe?

Anyone who thinks cop was a walk in the park is looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses. :)

I think you're mistaking accoplishments & human needs. XD

Let me try to say it like this,
It's the hard work, tears, blood, and all that stuff that makes you stronger; Not the actual victory. (Unless you're talking EXP >.> Another story completly)
Sure, it doesn't apply to EVERYTHING, but what does in this day in age?

1. Relics are still not easy to come by, considering everything required to fully upgrade. Average every day morons will still not flock to relic ownership.

2. Average every day morons already own relics.

yes about time, means that limbus will not be a money loss again.

LOL who are the every day morons who already own relics =3

Eh, no, I'm not. I'm just over-simplifying the concept of "accomplishment pleasure." There's the pleasure you can get from the satisfaction of a need - hunger, thirst, using the restroom, etc. There's also the pleasure you can get from the satisfaction of a want - a new luxury car, a vacation, a relic weapon, etc.

Yes, the journey does give good experiences, memories and probably even companionship. But the journey doesn't preclude the destination. IF the destination didn't have importance then we'd all just be wandering transients with no where to go.

my major problem with this statement is that some players who can't be "diehard" players because of real life scheduling conflicts lose out on doing these events in order to obtain these "out of reach" items, so by default i should be considered a gimp because i can't be on the game for 15 hours a day all week to do said events to obtain said gear right?

Do you complain in sports when someone has an advantage over you based on money or time? If someone practices more than you and becomes better than you, do you suggest that's unfair? If a co-worker puts more time into the job and gets a better raise, do you think that's unfair? Or if they got a promotion and you didn't, is that suddenly unfair? Those who put more time into something deserve more out of it, that's plain and simple fact of life.

Gimp is a matter of perspective. No one requires you to have a dynamis relic, it's a luxury 99% of the player base cannot and should not afford. It's a weapon meant solely to burn time for those who can afford to burn massive amounts of time and money. The reduction in price is not so everyone can get a relic, it's meant to relieve the burden on those trying to enter dynamis. If you think this will increase relics in existance, I think you're quite mistaken. With increased drop rate, people will have less need for dynamis and end sooner thus meaning less coins in the system overall.

LOL who are the every day morons who already own relics =3

Haha, as much as you and some others want me to name names, this isn't the FB. I'm not here to start a shit storm over it. It wouldn't change the fact that there are some relic owners out there that are actually some of the worst players, save complete noobs (but that's not fair to pick on them). Perhaps, believing they'll find badassery within relic ownership, sinking years into obtaining one, and continuing onward down the path of suck. This story is sadly common. As I told a friend that PMed me earlier today about naming someone specific for laughs...There are enough to name and it wouldn't be fair to just name one.

I know I know, didnt want ya gettin in trouble for namin names LOL. But yeah having a relic is great and all, but i honestly think its more for bragging rights than anything else. I mean look at it, most of us make do with the weapons and armor we have and do just fine.

Why would you want to brag that you spend over a year of your life doing the same event twice a week...?
