Dynamis Northland/Outland droprate observations

Beaucedine is a better area for comparison. Most groups kill a lot of normal mobs there I think...

Xarca is a little hard to compare, as some groups really only target the time extensions, NMs and then Shadow Lord. If you aren't killing a lot of normal mobs, then you won't see the big numbers of AF in Xarca.

Well....

Dynamis Buburimu today for the statistics.

One, no I am not joking, ONE AF-1 and beastmaster to boot......

Normal pre-update avarage 2 AF-1 and 2 accessoires.

* The drop rate of relic armor in Dynamis has been adjusted. Rates for the following areas in particular have been increased:
Dynamis – Beaucedine / Dynamis – Xarcabard / Dynamis – Valkurm / Dynamis – Buburimu / Dynamis – Qufim / Dynamis - Tavnazia

It's because I didn't die XD

Dynamis - Beaucedine today with Virtuous:

RDM x3, BLU x1, COR x1, BLM x1, WHM x2, 100C x2. We had two RDM drops and a 100C within 20 minutes.

Note: and 4 AF drops in one treasure pool at one point.

Also on that note that Diabllos said we had Rdm and Blu drop off the same mob which shocked our whole shell and some confusion for a little bit but all in all was the first Glacier run that iv seen that many relics drop in the very begining had like 3 rdms drop within the first 30 mins of the run. All in all was a great run after the update and if this is a sign of things to come maybe we'll finally get PLD to drop in glacier for once ._. and smn.

Yep was like city drops+1.
Funny when rdm and blu dropped off 1 mob too.
Dynamis just become happy times.

Edit -after all the data collected as cortney said it seems only NORMAL mobs have had there drop rates changed. Maybe we will see some changed plans on how to farm dynamis Xarc now.

I'm not a leader in my Dynamis shell btw I just happen to be one of those in my shell that uses QCDN so I wanted to post the info for Invictus from last night.

5 AF from Xara
BLU (first thing to drop from the mobs before the NM's)
2 SAM (one dropped from NM and was only NM drop)
DRG
THF
100c

Our average is probably is the 1~3 range. I'm sure we had a rare run back when that got more than 5 but we have also had several runs with 0 or 1 AF and it's usually something like BST or DRK.

Yeah. I'm planning a slight change in strategy for our next Xarcas in response to this (unless today's maintenance is changing any of it).

Perhaps more time raw-farming before the first NMs, or even completely ignoring the NMs and just taking a pure-farming route if these drops really are substantially better...

Little confused. In reference to Xarcabard, did only the regular mobs get a drop rate increase? Or more of an increase over the NM? Or does the speed in killing regular mobs make it more effective now even if the drop are a lower percentage?

Regular mobs got an increased drop rate.

NMs still have a higher drop rate than normal mobs, but NM drop rates don't seem to have changed.

There are a lot more regular mobs than NM, so more AF drops from them than from NMs. This has always been the case, provided you actually kill the normal mobs, and don't just pick the time extensions and NMs on the way to DL.

Yes, but I think you're missing the question I was getting at. There are a lot more normal mobs and most LS will kill normal mobs because they have more than enough time to kill NMs with plenty left over. Enough so that they can kill a large amount of normal mobs really considering there are only 12 or 15 NMs and 100's of normal mobs. However, they still kill the NMs because the drop rate on them was much higher.

With this update; however, is it more beneficial from a time spent versus drops recieved to spend it killing regular mobs rather than "waste" it on NM?

Well, you'd still have to bump off the NMs for certain other purposes if you're going for such things, donchaknow. Plus for any LS with experience dealing with the NMs, taking care of three beefy things (plus occasional pet) you know about is probably going to be a lot less death-prone than a gigantic unfamiliar pull.

Well you didn't ask that!

There isn't a simple answer, and it would depend on how fast a Linkshell can kill the NMs vs the normal mobs. I'd always target the NMs, because of their higher drop rate, but if a Linkshell has trouble with them, then they could feasibly ignore the NMs. I just couldn't leave a NM with a 10%ish chance of dropping a RDM hat or THF gloves just sitting there...

I do understand and I realize that you may need to kill for DL or extensions (not sure on latter), but as I'm sure you're well aware, NMs are quite a bit more difficult to deal with. They have much higher HP, hit a heck of a lot harder even on PLD and attack a whole lot faster not to mention are completely immune to sleep. Its a toss up as to whether killing NMs or reasonably large groups is harder in my opinion.

I thought I did. Regardless, if you spend an hour killing NMs for 1 drop and spend an hour killing regular mobs for 2 drops, perhaps spending the entire 2 hours killing regular mobs is more beneficial. Which makes me wonder if people should ignore NMs when possible even if they can target specific drops and just go for more drops in general.

Just finished doing Dynamis Xarcabard tonight.^^

Normal Average drops: like... 1-4 if we're lucky lol
Tonight's drops: 11 relics and one 100c.

Relics that dropped:
PLDx2 -one dropped off NM
SAMx3 -normal mobs
BST -normal mobs
WHMx2 -one dropped off NM
NIN -dropped off NM
SMN -dropped off NM
DRK -normal mobs

There was an increase in drop rates indeed. :)

Limitless did Xarcabard tonight, got the following:

BLU
DRG x2 (one from NM)
BST
WHM x2
SMN
100 coin (off DL, no Shadow items)

Not huge like I've seen reports of, but pretty decent I think, considering we killed DL too (who gives no extension, so less time for farming).

Insurrection:

Xarcabard:
WAR, THF, NIN, CORx2, BST, DRG, 1x 100 Byne
Avarage pre-update 2~3

first 4 AFs dropped from the first NM camp, normal demons.
We didn't kill any NMs today.
