Dynamis Shells Funding Weapons

Well apparently if the ENTIRE LS votes on ONE person to upgrade then that person has EARNED the respect of the LS, maybe not earned 700M but the LS as a whole respects him. He didn't earn it, The LS earned it,but they wanted to have somewhere to place that accomplishment, and they chose him/her. In any case I was stating the flaw in Peregrine's Logic. But if you want to talk about "Earning" a relic weapon then say a Dynamis LS had a point list for 5 months, and the person with the most points at the end of the 5 month period is chosen for the relic, then you could say he "techinically" earned it.

If the LS earns it, that doesn't mean that specific person earned it. And respect != earning. If someone I highly respected joined the LS, I wouldn't say he earned anything untill he actually do.

I never said the respect earned him the relic. I said he earned the respect of the LS. And read the rest of my post, I made a suggestion about if you want to "earn" a relic persay. That would be one of the only logical ways you could "earn" it.

Earning is when you do a lot for the LS, and in no way could you "earn" a relic, unless you maybe went with the same Dynamis LS for three years straight, then yes, maybe you earned it. But I don't see anyone doing that.

When are you going to stop acting like you're speaking for everyone Uzor? What linkshell do you do dynamis with, and how do they deal with the issue of ancient currency?

Firestreak said it in the other thread, 95% of the people doing dynamis are in it for the relic armor. Most people don't care about the 1 coins, you're not the "champion of the common Dynamis-dweller," you're just complaining for the sake of complaining. I have no problem having the linkshell support people's relic weapons and based on the amuont of linkshells that are doing that method, obviously I'm not alone. I don't think that it's fair that only the people who can crap out 700+ million gil get a relic. I'd rather get a relic because I have the support of friends than just I farm/camp/craft all day long and make gil.

If you're not a part of the linkshell, then your opinion means squat. If you want a linkshell that runs how you want, try to find one or start your own. Don't just bitch because some established linkshells use a method you don't like. It's not like we're going to go "Damn, Uzor who isn't even in this linkshell doesn't like a completely internal matter that doesn't even effect him, let's change the LS!" I know the option of not joining the linkshell who deals with coins is not appealing, but it's still your choice, stop acting like people are forcing you to join.

Also, why DO you care this much about what other linkshells do with their coins? Are you upgrading by buying all your coins and jealous that others have people supporting them while you're doing it yourself?

And why not? Is that not the point of joining the Dynamis LS? Is it not to stick it out? Thats why I joined mine, one I enjoy and have fun in. It's all about loyalty, this was discussed in another thread. Some people could easily stay in a single LS for 3 years because of their loyalty, while others cant stay for more then 2 days.

When did I say I spoke for everyone? I'm voicing my own oppinion, tvm.

And the bolded part, been there, doen that. :nyam:

And the last part, no. I don't even feel the relic weapons are worth it, so I don't see why I would bother? If someone wants to get a relic weapon, I'm all for it. Props to them, as long as they atleast bought over half of the coins alone.

And to answer your second question, yes. I do like complaining.

Honestly, i think it would be a very rare case where someone who was upgrading relic would depend entirely on the dynamis shell to back them. I know that isn't how it works in loveless/limitless. Rather it is a way to excelerate and support those who wish to upgrade. to depend entirely on a Dynamis shell for upgrade is obviously impracticle, but to use it as a support, maybe to fund ~half of the relic... i think that is a far better use of the coins than having them auto lot.

Something fire brought up on another thread, and i think would be an interesting topic is... stage three is all that is needed to benifit a dynamis shell. It takes far less time to achieve stage three, so what do you think of a shell that would have a goal to do that for most of its members? Starting with Horn/Aegis i'd think and than moving down to the other weapons. '-'

Everyone is so concerned about the coins. Honestly, if someone has the gil it only requires time to find the coins. Having a Dynamis shell to back you up, makes that just so much easier. Great.

Now, I have enough equipment to sell and purchase around 60-70/83 coins that I would need for lv3.

Does that mean I would? No. Not until I see an Attestation.

It just suprises me that a Linkshell will sponsor a member to get a relic weapon, when they haven't even attempted Shadow NMs. Not to mention fragments, where the weapon/shield/instrument has to be totally zerged and killed before it gets bored from a pitifull attempt and warps away.

All in all, I believe relic weapons are a group effort. But only when it involves the Rare/Ex items needed to upgrade. Money should be sold BY the dynamis shell to the upgrader - but perhaps at a discount depending on how the shell agrees.

Well I think it's be hard to be fair getting 1 person a level 4 but you could very easily support several people getting level 3 dynamis weapons simultaneously, based off the small percent of people actually intending to upgrade. Spreading your resources actually benefits the specific Dynamis LS more by getting more people with the weapons that are functional in dynamis.

If you happen to share ties with an HNM LS and want use of level 4 weapons to help kill things outside dynamis, then it's the HNM LS who should provide those coins not the dynamis LS that may have members who are actually rivals outside dynamis.

I.E. you want relic katana to help tanking Fafnir, then whoever will benefit at Fafnir is the one who should use their resources to buy coins for the person.

For my own shell at first I felt all coins should just be let to fall and at the most take the first simply to pay for the run and let all others fall. I was surprised a majority of people involved wouldn't stand for that feeling the LS should develop some sort of system for upgrades to keep members interested. But I felt still going to 1 person alone is wrong. So Kireek I believe was the one who came up with a system I felt was fair.

Basically, 1,000,000 gil per run.

If 1,000,000 gil for the value of all coins combined as far as LS is concerned. Therefore anyone who wants to buy coins can, as long as they show progress that they are honestly upgrading and out to sell coins. So if 5 people are interested in upgrading, and 100 coins drop, that's 10 coins each can buy, and 100k they each pay.

This is a help basically to BOOST people towards their own goals. I can't see someone getting stage 4 off this alone but it's fair and it's enough motivation at least to keep people interested in Dynamis. It's also important that as a Dynamis shell, you are going to have people you know less than others working with you, because of this there will be people who have proved to you their loyalty therefore making them excellent choices for the one to get the weapon, and alternately people who you don't know and therefore have less of a chance to prove their own capability.

If you want to say that you do it to make the shell stronger, and therefore who gets it doesn't matter so much as that you do get it and that it stays, I'll say that the shell may be stronger by taking the gil value of it and buying people needed gear for their jobs most used at the run. Like maybe make sure all RDMs have HQ wind staff and all blm have hq thunder staff and every whm has a nobles. I'm not saying a Dynamis should provide those things, I'm just saying taking all that gil away that could buy those to get 1 guy a level 4 weapon doesn't really make it stronger compared.

But then Dynamis is for Dynamis gear. If people want gil for HQ wind staves they can farm or camp gil NM. If they want nobles they can join a sky LS or buy it like previous.

So being that people are going to want different things from their LS, I find it kind of stupid to expect there to be "one right way" to handle coin distributions. Luckily, most people don't really care. But for those who do, there are many different dynamis LS that all have a somewhat unique system you can look for.

All LS work a different way which is why I don't really like when people try and rank them or decide which is "best," because the best LS for one guy might make another miserable.

Dynamis Currency is in Dynamis so people can upgrade AF2 and Relic Weapons. SE did not introduce Dynamis Currency so people could sell it and help pay for random stuff like HQ Staves and Noble Tunics, that's what your HNM LS's are for.

It used to be that every person would help pay for the Hourglass and coins would be freelot. In this system every person has a chance to make back the money they paid for dynamis and maybe bring a small profit. But please give me a break, is 100k per dynamis run really worth it to you people? That's like a stack of Sole Sushi!

Now the more common system of coin distribution is that coins are sold directly to the relic upgraders in the linkshell at a heavily discounted price from the going Bazaar rate and all non-relic upgraders get to attend Dynamis for FREE, get to lot AF2 for FREE, and also potentially have a chance at winning lots on 100c's (my LS buys this back from the winner for 500k), and other free lot items which can net between 2-200k a piece... for FREE.

So which people are being greedy here, the relic upgraders or the [EDIT] people [/EDIT] that want more and more... and more.

I can't even describe the appreciation I have for members of my Dynamis LS that are helping me accomplish a goal I started over a year ago! This will be the biggest accomplishment I will ever achieve when it's finished and I like to think that all the people that have helped will feel like they were a part of that.

Who is a freeloader? They earn those coins that fall and get sold and pay for Dynamis. You should be offering out blowjobs for having got tons of coins for the price of paying the entrance fee, especially from people who you didn't do runs with, not calling them freeloaders.

Sorry, freeloader is not the right word by definition, find a new word that means "people who recieve items and profit without spending money to recieve them". Actually I suppose we would call that "employment", where you spend time to get money.

Relic upgraders are not profiting though, they are spending their time to get currency to obtain an item in the long run. Just because their spending less money then they would in bazaar's that doesn't mean they are profiting from the dynamis LS like the rest of the members still are even without getting to sell the dynamis coins personally.

I don't see why those that are in dynamis LS's not getting currency would be upset with their situation. Sure they could be making another 50-75k or something per run if all coins dropped to members in a LS that is purely for profit but is it worth it? As a member you have to decide what you want more in the long run, group accomplishment or personal benefits.

I don't play this game for purely for personal achievements anymore, I am happy where I am and just wanna have fun while seeing the people around me accomplish the things they need.

I don't intend to upgrade any weapon, not because I don't think I could afford it but because I don't think it's worth my gil. (Gate of tartarus?)

That being said, I couldn't give less a shit about paying 20k twice a week to enter, and any sponsor who thinks they're doing me a favor can suck a dick.

By doing dynamis I'm giving up my time, which I coudl be using to make gil, exp or do whatever. I'm giving up my only chance to do dynamis, being that there's a 3 day timer, and I can't do dynamis again right after to get coins for ME. I'm also giving up 2 nights of my week, every week, which means sometimes I'm hurting my social life for the benefit of dynamis.

Coins are the property of the people who do it, because that's what they earned. Now, people who want all the coins for themselves will want it greatly. People who don't want coins probably won't mind that much. But at any rate it's a service to the people upgrading and nothing else.

Wait, 100k is nothing, but omg you don't have to 20k to enter, you get in FREE!? Between food tools and reraise, I spend 60k per run easy. 2-4 coins is a nice way to recoup my costs. Lancewood logs, wootz ores, etc drop enough that you'll end up with one every 10 runs or so.

After already being down 10k exp and a hundred hours or so per piece of relic I get, I'd rather not be down a couple million gil too because the coins are going to someone that is leeching off the shell to get a fully upgraded weapon for free. I wouldn't mind being down that gil if it means that several people have been helped in obtaining upgrades, recieving a small portion of their coins from the ls.

Upgraders don't think their doing people a favor by making runs free I can assure you.

Upgraders are the most grateful people in the LS, they say it, they show it, and they post on threads like this and others showing it some more. But people refuse to accept thankfulness and just want coins to sell for themselves.

Yes upgraders realize the LS is helping them, providing a service is what you call it... we are not disagreeing! Why are you arguing, it just seems arguing is the only way to keep complaining for some people.

Wait, who gets coins from their LS's for FREE? I don't know LS's that give coins to upgraders for nothing. Upgraders pay between 5-10k per coin to pay for the run, its not free, they aren't leeching. They are in dynamis for just as long as you doing just as much work and dieing just as much as you, and they spend as much time and money as you.

And theres no way in hell a LS could fund 100% of someones upgrade, it would just take too long. Any upgrader thats far enough along knows this and realizes they will end up buying at least 20%~ of their coins from bazaars along the way.

And I haven't been in a single LS yet that only upgraded ONE person's weapon and refused to upgrade anyone elses. Although I have seen what its like for a LS to try and upgrade too many people at the same time and virtually nothing is accomplished.

If you can consider upgraders leechers, I don't see how AF2 lotters aren't also leechers. I mean I don't need hardly any AF2 pieces anymore for ANY of my 3 jobs. I have lotted on 1 drop in over a month. So aside from helping other people get their AF2, why am I still going to dynamis? Oh right... according to your definition I am leeching dynamis coins.

I posted a response to a post you made calling them freeloaders. That post is edited now. You can agree that what I said is right and you are grateful to them, but questioning my motives or saying my posts don't make sense(also edited out).

Editing is allowed on this board(or all boards now, cause flameboard is gone). But don't simply act as if I'm replying to a post that hadn't been written yet cause it makes my response look like it has no sense without the justification.

Well now if we are talking about an exchange of people sponsoring runs but then not lotting af2 we are talking about something different.

But then by that definition does that mean if you get AF2 before someone else then they are now leeches to you by you not breaking your linkshell now that you have tha af2?

Did I not say that "freeloader is not the right word by definition" and then corrected myself and my original thread?

I don't think this is a discussion anymore lol.
