Ok, my Dynamis LS (GrandTheftChoco) are doing Dynamis - Xarcabard sometimes in the begining of June, so naturally, I had to write a strategy for it. Thing is, I have never done Dynamis - Xarcabard myself. So as a result, I'll post the strategy I wrote here so that those more knowledgable than me on the subject can post and comment on it.

Mainly, I want comments on what won't work, what I should change, tips on things that will make it easier etc. Anyway, here goes.

This is a work in progress and can be changed!

Items needed: Reraise Hairpin/Reraise Gorget, Poison Pots, Echo Drops, Eye Drops (melees only)

Also, here's a tip I found that we might want to try out:

After quite a bit of experimentation, my LS found a better way to deal with the platform NM's in dynamis-xarcabard, so time to share!

In Dynamis-Xarcabard, if you have about 7 BLM (6 might be too little incase of resist), you can snipe eyes clean off the platforms, which pop the NMs without any aggro.

What I do is : I target an eye, then call a time, have the blms use IV spell on it. 7 Nukes should still kill the eye even if you get resists, we did this with 6 people once, it had 1% HP and the snipe failed.

Why would you snipe the eyes?
Here is why : When you snipe the eyes, they will pop the NM with 0 aggro on anyone, aslong as you did this correctly. So if done properly, you should have 3x NM up with no hate on anyone (mobs that have pets wont summon untill aggrod ). This leaves you with only 3 mobs to kill rather than 6, so if you're short on tanks , this is great.

Back when I was first playing around with this method, what we'd do is have the blms aga3 all the eyes on the platform, while yes, this worked, it was evil. The NM's would usually spawn with their 2hours up, and have taken some damage (usually NM would spawn with 80%-90% HP), and with alot of hate on the BLMS, which is horrible especially on the MNK demon NM.

Have fun, hope this helps.
First off, always stay to the walls unless otherwise stated, and PLEASE do try to avoid any aggro possible.

Anyway, the first blue line indicates RNG pull. They will walk up to the end of the bone thingy alone (everyoen else stay at camp), then walk down the blue line and barrage + EES + sidewinder etc. the stone that's there when eyes are not looking. Once the stoen is dead, they run back up to the bone thingy and die there. Once mobs are dead, WHM goes up to raise them.

After that, follow the the green line up to where the pink line starts. From here, BLMes run down to the eyes, and -ga them with times nukes. If they all don't die, feel free to kite them around the ramp, but be sure you kill them. RDMes can help with killing the eyes. Once the eyes are dead, nuke the stone dead.

Now, keep following the green line up to the second pink line. Stay there, and do not walk anywhere near the Teleport - Vahzl crystal. puller goes down and pulls the three eyes down there and brings them back to camp. For now, handle the eyes like stones, meaning stone vokers voke an eye each, and BLMes nuke the eyes. Remember that eyes have Magic Barrier, so do not nuke them when they put it on. Instead, cast Dia on them untill they stop resisting, and start nuking again.

Once all mobs are dead, go down and kill the 30 min extention. Once that is down, stick close to the wall and walk around the ramp thingy, and camp i nfront of it. Here, BLMes will go up and -ga the eyes with timed nukes. If they don't die in time, the stone vokers will chose a NM each (WAR RDM BRD NM's) and kite them up and down the hill. BLMes will need to kite the stones, while killing them, and PLD takes a NM and starts killing it together with the other melees.

Once the NM's are dead, walk south untill you get to next pink line. Camp here, and repeat the times -ga nuke process. kiters take an NM each, and kite them around the stone. PLD will take an NM. Remember to kill them in this order; BST -> pet -> WHM -> MNK.

Once they are dead, walk south to next stage. BLMes timed-nuke the eyes, kiters take a NM each and kite it around the stone (BE CAREFULL NOT TO KITE THEM TOO FAR NORTH OR THIRD STAGE WILL LINK!). This time, the kill order is BLM -> DRK -> NIN.

Walk north and follow the wall, timed-nuke the stones, and kite the NM's around the rock (BE CAREFULL NOT TO KITE THEM TOO FAR NORTH OR THIRD STAGE WILL LINK!). Kill order is SMN -> PLD -> THF. For this, we need an extra kiter to voke the SMN once slept. Preferably a NIN who can create hate by using enfeebling ninjutsu. Move south to the earlier camp, and tank it there if it wakes up before SMN is awake.

After this, walk north and kill the stone behnd camp. Timed-nuke the stones, and kill them in the following order; DRG -> SAM -> RNG.

Walk up and kill the 30 min extantion, then stop at the green line. For this, everyone need to be ready. The THF will run up with utsu, flee and perfect dodge up. He will run up and aggro all the eyes, then proceed suicide pulling them down the ramp (as shown on the map) and dies in a corner. The others (following shortly thereafter) will run and hide at the area marked "Wait here". Once the train have passed, everyone run down the ramp and and kills the dragons in the order shown on the map. Also, to make it easier, PLD's and melees stay below "ramp" area, while mages stay above. That way they will avoid the AoE damage from Body Slam.

Once the marked dragons are dead, its time to kill Ying and Yang. For this, you take one kiter to kite the second one around the area below camp, around the glowing field. PLD vokes the second dragon, and everyone fight it. At 5% (IMPORTANT! DO NOT GET IT BELOW 5%!), the PLD starts kiting it, and the second kiter brings his dragon back to camp. Now, everyone proceeds to kill the second dragon, and gets it down to 5%, no more (IMPORTANT!). At this point, first tank brings his dragon back to camp, and the BLMes synch-nuke them to kill them both simultaneously (if they don't die within 30 sec of eachother, they will reraise).

Once they are dead, Dynamis Lord will pop. Now, melees rest up to get TP, and everyoen buffs up and gets reraise up. Once ready, puller goes to pull him.

For this, you bring him to the red area marked TANKS. Everyone lets the tanks get some hate, and then the melees moves in and uses all of their WS's and 2-hours. BLMes starts to nuke, and once melees have used their 2-hours and WS's, they run back to the green area marked "MELEES" and starts resting up and build TP again.

Also, if you didn't understand that by now, mages stand in the blue area marked "MAGES". This way, the only people who will take hate from Dynamis Lord's AoE attacks are the tanks (and melees when they move in to WS). Also, when melees move in, 2 RDMes will chainspell + stun Dynamis Lord to minimize the damage melees take.

The way I was thinking of fighting him, was to have the PLD move in and voke. The melees goes in to WS + 2-hour, and 2 RDMes chainspell + stun him.

Once the 30 sec is up, the PLD uses invincible, and melees goes back to sleep for TP. This is the part I don't know what to do with, sleep to 300% TP (roughly 3 min), or just 100% (roughly a min)? 3 min is most likely too long time for the tank to tank without dieing, so let's say 1 min (maybe less, depends on how fast melees can build TP.

Anyway, once melees have TP, they move in to WS again, during which 2 other RDMes chainspell stun.

During all this time the other tanks are building hate from afar, and when a PLD dies, another one moves in to invincible. Also, BLMes nuke from afar and stun when they can.

The other choice we have, which I don't know if we can do due to lack of chainspell stunners and BLMes, is to have RDMes chainspell + stun in sets, and everyone go all out.

First, 2 RDMes chainspell + stun him at the same time, while everyoen goes in and all out on him, melees WS, eat a wing, WS again, BLMes nuke like crazy, PLD's invincible and flashes and do everything they can to keep hate... And once the 2 RDMes are doen chainspell + stunning him, 2 others use it.

With 6 RDMes, that gives us roughly 1,5 min to kill him, which might be enough, I don't know though as I haven't tried him before.

Either way, second strategy is the one almost everyone uses, but first strategy is also used by some other Dynamis LS across all servers. Don't know if its exactly like that, but something like it. First one will deffinently be harder then the second one though, so best would be to try second strategy first, see how it goes, and maybe try second one out too to some other time if first one doesn't work, to see which one works best for us.
don't mind my painting skills <.<; I can't even paint a round circle irl, lol

those are pretty maps :P where'd you find em? O.o

End-Game Discussion is that way. ----->

But anyway, the strategy looks mostly right to me, but you might find it easier to split your shell in half for Ying/Yang, and just have the group that gets theirs down to 5-10% first, disengage & kite.

Originally, I found them on some japanese website when I first started my LS and searching for maps, at which point I saved them to my PC.

Nowadays, they're also here:

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/

I love those maps, because they are by far the mot detailed ones out there.

Also, a general question, is it possible to use the ledges for fighting Vanguard Dragons, similar to how you fight Dynamis Lord, in order to minimize damage taken by mages? From what I heard Body Slam can do up to 1k damage, which could easily wipe out the entire Black Mage party =/

Edit: no one have any comments? <.<; I really want to know if this one will work or not...

Wish I could help Uzor, but I just recently joined up with you so don't really know that much about the northlands dynamis :( sorry

ok, thanks. Good to know you can use the ledges for them ^^

It's a better idea to use the first ledge for the vanguard dragons, you know, the one before the actual climb to the castle. The pulls are pretty short, and all of the BLM can nuke them to death pretty easily(and fast!)

edit: this isn't smart for ying and yang though

Go with the second strat. We beat him in about 40-50 seconds with 58 people on the run. We only had 5 rdm/drks. You have 45 people but you also get up to 1 min 30 seconds, which should be enough if everyone goes completely all out.

I honestly dont like the idea of melees sleeping and letting Dynamis Lord be on attack mode for 2-6 mins....He oblivion Smashes = You die. He calls out Ying and Yang again = annoying, He multiples = you probably die. Just take him out ASAP and you should do fine unless the stunning messes up.

Ok, I'll go with second strategy, and if he's not dead by then I'll have the melees sleep up to 100TP again.

Lol, nono. If hes not dead by then you will probably die. Or you can have people zombie up and keep nuking him. Either way, if you cant kill him in 1.5 mins with 45 people....you need to ungimp some people ><

Did you beat him first try? :P

I don't expect us winning first try, but I'll be damned if I give up without putting up a fight :P

The first time we chainspell stunned him yes. The first time we fought him we didnt think we'd get there so no one had rdm/drk, sleeping pots, icarus wings, etc.

Come expecting to beat him. We surprised ourselves by reaching him with time to spare and weren't prepared to fight him. Even then we nearly got him. So it is very possible if you come expecting to fight him.

Chainspell is 1 min, not 30 seconds. Around the time the second set of RDMs chainspell comes to an end, Yin and Yang comes back. The one time I did Dynamis lord, he died just as Yin and Yang came running back.

The more blms, the easyer it is.

chainspell is 30 seconds lenght, Mariox.. O.o atleast.. always has been for me

ONly real RDM would know that though.

hmm.. it could be a minute.. my clock fails a lot on my computer >.> I need to find a stop watch.

Yeah Chainspell is 1 min according to Mystery tour...I didnt even know that >_> You have 3 mins of stuns then
