The new game being teased by Koei Tecmo -- the one with the flowers? Um, yeah, it's actually about punching people: As predicted, the game's been revealed by Famitsu as Fist of the North Star Musou (officially, just Hokuto Musou, or North Star Musou) combining Koei's populous Dynasty Warriors series with the venerable manga series, and it's the smartest thing Koei has ever done with the Warriors series since the original idea.

The Fist of the North Star franchise follows a martial artist named Kenshiro who wanders around a post-apocalypse Earth, using his "Hokuto Shinken" style to fight gangsters that prey on hapless innocents. Why is this series so perfect for Warriors? Because it's a well-known universe in which it's perfectly believable for one guy to beat up a couple hundred enemies with his bare fists. This license will not require much adapting in the transition to a Warriors game.

Hokuto Musou, according to the magazine, will be out sometime next year on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Honestly, it's FIST OF THE NORTH STAR. It's already crap, how much worse can they make it?

Crap that forms part of my childhood, mind you, but it's still awful. XD

I'd basically call it "So bad it's good", so I have got some hopes for this game.

It'll be cheesy as hell, yet fucking awesome!!!
It'll be Repetitive, yet so much fun!!!
It'll be mindless violence and murder of petty biker thugs, and it will be so wonderful!!!

Oh, and someone on Joystiq said it best:

"You are already imported."
 
Meh. They'll probably just give everyone spears and ruin the game.

It's still a Mosou game, and those tend to be... average to terrible.

Uh.. Okay. Um.. Well I thought the screenshots looked promising. But this early gameplay footage looks pretty run of the mill, and not even that great considering they're using the Dynasty Warriors engine. I kinda don't care about this now. :/ Quite frankly that gameplay trailer looked like utter crap, stuff that's been done many times before without anything making it really stand out. The only thing that is giving this game credit atm is the name 'Fist of the North Star'. But.. really, I've seen that anime. It really wasn't that great for a 'classic'.
 
The game looks pretty much terrible from that video.
 
Personally I think this game looks dumb as hell, and I'm a pretty big DW/SW fan. I'd much rather have Koei workin on a upgraded SW for 360/PS3 or DW. And on a side note they need to stop making stupid fuckin games for the wii.
 
Really really bad way to do a good idea.

Give it over to CAPCOM, change it to a God Hand style beat-em-up, and I'll buy ten copies.

Fuck, make it twenty copies.
