Hi guys . . .

I've recently branched out into tabletop gaming a bit. D20 stuff. A few of my friends from home got into it too, but the problem is, they're all over the country during the "school year" months. It occurred to me that what we still might try is internet gaming.

I'm not talking WoW or FFXI. I want to see if we can get Tabletop gaming to work via online correspondence. The world I view this being played through is from Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber novels . . . basically a set of two royal families whose lines are interconnected, one of which lives at the interdimensional center of order, the other at the interdimensional center of chaos. Zelazny's concept basically dictates that order emanates from the Pattern, and chaos from the Logrus (both symbols), and they radiate out from these two points, creating "shadow" dimensions, including, for example, the one in which Earth lies. The nobility from either point can walk among these shadow worlds, which get more chaotic and violent as you approach the chaos point, and more golden-age renaissance as you approach the order point. I think these shadow dimensions are a great concept for internet slow-gaming, as it makes sense that the different "cities" we live in would represent these shadows.

Well. This idea hit me fairly recently, so I am here asking for help getting it off the ground. All suggestions are welcome. If anyone can think of an arbitrary way, for example, that we could simulate dice-rolling online, that would be great. Other suggestions as to how we might set up a system for accruing "power" would also be of interest.

So far, it's an idea, nothing more. Let me know if you have any thoughts, and if there seems to be interest, I may keep posting as I go!

Also, if anyone is an Amber fan and might be interested in playing if it can get off the ground, let me know that too!

Cheers!
