I never liked it to much but it's raising such a stink now that there have been talks of ressurecting it. I think some guy is working on a "official" private server backed by EA, is it? Anyway, I'll look for the source later and post it.

Myself, Trippyhippy, Kyp, Fluffers, Zhyk(doesn't play anymore) and Kaete all came over to FFXI from this game. We liked it, we got to the top of it shortly before they took it down. Good game overall I thought.

There's some people working on opening it again, they have an emulated version of it on the site but you can't do much with it yet. Kyp has been working with them a lot, I'll make him post the links when he gets home from work today.

Edit: And from what I know, EA is not giving anyone any support on this idea at all. As a matter of fact, when you open up the emulator, on the bottom of the screen where in the original version it said "Electronic Arts Presents" I think, it now reads "Screw Electronic Arts" or "Electronic Arts Sucks" or something to that effect.

We were on the Andromeda server. Trippy, Kyp and Fluffers all used the same names, I was Muneca and Kaete was Canessa(Hope I spelled that right or she might slap me around >.>) RadicalDreamers 4tw!

It does exist, but it's kept mostly quiet to attempt to avoid attention from EA so they don't try to stifle it. Though as no money stands to be gained really, and the code for the server client is all owned privately by someone other than EA, legally there is no recourse for them as we all bought a license to the game software of the game they shut down.

I was also on Andromeda server. Name was (Admiral) Apathiezunachust..something like that lol. My final days I was in Acorp's LS. I think his other name was katzuya. I remember he was playing FFXI beta at the time or planning on getting into it. I wonder what happened to him.
I was a good friend of lsbii as well. The guy pumped out those dragon 100% missiles launchers like there was no tomorrow. Too bad he got nerfed, haha..

If you guys remember or played the end game, the name Zethren comes from that final fish boss guy at the Tada O gate, Zethren Ti
Did Static or anyone ever take him down? I took a break for a couple of months and when I came back the game was going to be put down.

We killed "The Dark One" over in Xipe Totec once. We got the Device that is Build Device Skill +0.1%. Some other neat shit as well.

I was a Jenquai defender, not whole unlike a blm in this game. I'd like to play it agani real bad now that I actually understand the concept of Tank/healer/DD/suport roles in "Parties" or "Formations".

My comp could handle it a lot better now too.

I think it was Kaete that found a place online where you could order a Die Cast Replica of your ship. Someone had asked me about that but I never could find it myself.

I had a whole total of like 10hrs on it via Z's PC shortly before it's demise.

To this day it makes me a sad panda. I tried Eve after XI to maybe see if i could recapture the same magic but alas, no dice. Space truckin' wasen't nearly as entertaining to me there as on E&B, oddly enough.

Oh you guys completed that set to pop the jelly mob? Thats great. EA really screwed up the pop item drops from Oni for a long time they didn't even drop them.

later nerfed it to +.1%, before it used to be +1. Lsbii was the first one to get it and the only one while it was still 1%. Mainly because Onis stopped dropping the items. Guy was so filthy rich and all he did was craft and pump out 100% Dragons.

Later on they made an addition to the Red dragon base. New area in there I think. You guys ever get to take down that blender looking mob thing and other mobs in that area?

Oh and did they ever open that gate that was in that final area. I remember you had to travel a long long distance to get to it. There was no real base in that station it was still under construction. Not even a NPC to sell items to. There was a gate there still under construction. Forgot the name of the area


There was so much more content left in that game. Really sucks they closed it down.

The final "Ti" Dropped "Heart Of The Dark One" best reactor in the game, hands down, no exceptions, I cannot remember the stats though. It also dropped "Eye Of The Dark One" a badass Beam. I never even saw one of these in action so I could only take people's word for it's awesomeness.

None of us messed with the red dragons, it was much better to build up your faction with them and be allowed into Pirate's Cove or Buccaneer's Den or whatever it was called. There were some seriously badass red dragons in that zone, but they were all green to you so it didn't matter. I know of one time where a bunch of people stormed the mothership thingy that was in that zone. That'll destroy all your faction instantly but I heard there was some amazing loot to be had on that raid.

I had max RD faction, I never attacked the RD Base. It would've instantly made me enemies and unable to enter Blackbeard's Wake

Yes we got in on this for two runs, the build enhance device was dropped and also a reactor that was pretty awesome. Remember winning it by lottery but don't remember the effect. I gave it to Kaete. It was a super-reactor think it was Jenquai only.

If you were really friendly you were supposed to be able to zone inside of it.. but as it was never up much more than 10 minutes after a server reset, I didn't find out.

They opened an area for the V'rix near the end of the time I was playing. Some hidden sector that you had to reach through a new gate that was built.

Also there was the Roc area that they opened for higher leveled folks.

ok Zi weapons I remember them. So it must have been taken down while I was still playing. I think that Static's leader, JW, had one of those items.

What I meant about new mobs was indeed inside Pirate's Cove(one you get to after using the pirate gates). They added new mobs there(non Red dragn type). There was this one hard mob, which people nick named chopper or blender or somethng like that. Hehe

Seriously - I still remember both A-Corp and Static to this day. Remember Slarth anyone? Man, he was the worst. As was a certain leader named Qritt. I could say I miss the game, but I dont miss those players at all.

I do miss what the game had. It didnt seem to have any drama, unlike FF does. This game is fulla drama - whereas it seemed people floating in space had very little to complain about...

...except maybe those god damn Red Dragons... but then I met Kyp who remedied all of that. So yeah. Peaceful, serene, no drama - EA should restore it. I should sue them for disrupting my peaceful Jenquai Explorer balance of nature. Could you imagine the headlines?

I was really looking forward to the 3 new classes they were going to put in. A terran explorer type, then I think it was like they were going to split the trader's abilities up between the 2 other races. One would be able to build components, one would be able to heal.

I loved E&B. I also tried eve but going from rock to rock just wasn't as entertaining. Probably because bastards would come and blow my ship up in eve whereas E&B i could just drift and only had to watch out for mobs in areas i probably shouldn't be in.

I also played andromeda lol, name was hadeswrath (who is my mule on FFXi now).

Great to see some familiar names in this thread, wondered where all of you went. Glad that most of you seem to have stuck together. I left E&B and went to SWG, made jedi and then went to City of Heroes. Nice enough game, but never made the friends that I made in E&B.

I have tried a few others, though nothing serious. I am currently into WoW and have a few lvl 70 characters on the Cenarius server. Would love to hear from some of you, even you Kaete, anyone that knows me, knows that I bear no ill will to anyone. If I did something to offend you or tick you off, lay it on me.
