I've posted one of these before, sometime last summer, but the guys at www.thespeedgamers.com are at it again with another Mother marathon.

Last time it was to raise awareness to NoA about Mother fans, but this year it'll be to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Charity. Differences from last year will be solely on focusing on the game and the charity, rather than harassing Nintendo and the marathon will be 72 hours as opposed to 50 (they didn't finish Mother 3 last year).

Anyways, I figured I would throw a shout out to everyone if you're interested in it, it should be starting at 7 EST. Also, as a side note, there will be a Metal Gear marathon on June 19th (72 hours) and a Final Fantasy marathon on July 17th (One week), if anyone is interested.

I'm deffo watching these again, these mother remixs are sweet too :p

Nice, I love the Mother series and this is for a great cause.
Now I think I'll do my own Mother marathon as well, hurray for Mother 3 in English.

The marathon was amazing. I missed their play-through of the 2nd half of Mother 1, Earthbound (Mother 2), and the first half of Mother 3 since I was out for the day, but everything else was fantastic. They were able to complete Mother 1-3, and start #2 again (got to the end of #2 and are still playing it right now), however the most impressive thing is the amount of money they were able to raise.

Originally going into this they were shooting for $6,000 for the breast cancer donation, but as of now (9:53 EST), they raised $10,451 total, an impressive feat for a 3-day marathon. Also, for any other curious people, they announced that their secret marathon (after Metal Gear and Final Fantasy) is going to be Mega Man and they do plan to do Earthbound/Mother again next year.

Yee yee.

RPGs are so spectacularly boring to watch other people play. Probably in part because they aren't exactly thrilling to play in the first place, since you're only there for the story. Awesome job the the fund raising though.

It's the chat/commentary that's fun, it's a shame that they're almost done.
This is Upbound we're talking about, I just figured I'd give them a shout.
It's not RPG with swords and dragons that can fly, it's about a boy, his bat, his hat, and a pack with a leftover fry.

Enough with that though. These guys have been around for a while, it's more a community thing rather than a watching them play the game.

Also Mother is the type of RPG that after a while of playing/watching you're so astonished by how random it is you wonder what's going to happen next, and if you're high or wasted then it's a completely different story :p
