Editing

Sorry you feel that way, however, since the Flameboard more often than not features heated discussions, I wouldn't want people to go back later and edit all the flames they have brought forward.

See this post: EDIT doesn't work in this forum

Who cares if they do or not? Obviously people will see when they do by simply reading the post as well as that nifty little "last edited on x x x" tag at the bottom.

People make typos and mistakes, its just going to fill up your DB with tons of unneeded posts because people either forgot something or felt like they really could explain something better, which in turn will slow down the board.

I do.

"Last edited on" doesn't do any good if the content in question is gone already. The point of the flameboard is to be able to let out frustrations and whatnot, the point is not that you can come back after you cooled down and delete all the rants you wrote. If you feel that you can explain something better then you are welcome to post another reply to the thread. Seeing that the Flameboard is the most active section of QCDN I doubt many see the "no edit' as a slow-down.

I am not worried about DB size, and the server QCDN is hosted on is well below 30% average load, thus performance is not an issue.

I do appreciate the comments, but the "no edit" on the Flameboard is a well established policy and I see no reason to change it.

Yeah the flameboard is meant for what you say will stay. Editing would just make a confusing mess for those of us who read each post. Almost like a messed up book with the pages in the wrong order.
