effect of haste equip on ninja tool recasting

So supposedly for : NI it is 1 second for every 2% haste you have equipped. And : Ichi
3 seconds for every 10%. Now when i equip 10% haste, it knocks 5 seconds off : NI, but when i equip my 20%, it only knocks off 9 seconds. (6 for : Ichi though)

My question is... if I only had 19 % haste or even 18 % would I still get 9 seconds off my
: Ni? Besides the 1-2% being useful only for how fast my swing is then, that makes 18-19% as useful to a ninja.

Yeah not exactly end game discussion.

(100 - 10)% * :45 = :40.5 = 40 (FFXI truncates all this stuff) = 5 seconds off cast
(100 - 20)% * :45 = 36 = 36 (nothing to truncate) = 9 seconds off cast
(100 - 18 )% * :45 = 36.9 = 36 (truncated, 18% haste has same recast as 20% haste for ni)

Of course that's ignoring march and the haste spell. If you never have either of those casted on your ninja then you will get the same ni recast from 18% and 20% haste.

If I am reading it right, the rounding down occurs on the total delay, and not delay reduction (FFXI always rounds down), then taking it to 21% haste will be your next threshold, dropping it another :01 of recast (35.55).


Haste spell = 15% haste-----30.15 vs 29.25 (yes)

Victory MArch= 11% haste (capped with Picc)-----(with haste spell) 25.2 vs 24.3 (yes)

Personal advice (I don't have WAR lvl'd, but I do have BLU lvl'd, which takes recast timers into account alot more, especially when soloing), use w/e haste you can, obviously depending on what you are giving up in that slot.
