I cant get on to ffxi, everytime i get ready to zone when i log on it shuts down full screen and says it has to shut down anyone know how i can fix this?

In all seriousness, I haven't heard anything about that kind of problem before; hopefully you can get it fixed. Might want to try customer support.

What is "it"? Are you getting POL messages saying FFXI has to close, or a Windows Error Report window saying "POL has caused an exception error yadda yadda yadda and needs to be shut down"?

Windows error. You use Windower? If so, try running just the normal non-windowed Playonline thing from the start menu. I've had Windower cause this problem a couple times before.

Check to see if you have the program spysweeper. That program has caused problems for me and my brother's computers both.

Do you use windower in full screen? It can still cause the probelm if its in full mode.

ive had a corrupted zone dat in the past, scan your FFXI files with POL.. that may be your prob.

if so, your gonna have to reinstall the game.. or get the dat from someone else.

Eor I've had this problem before, i dont have a very good computer. Normally, i can get it to stop saying this by pushing ctrl alt del and ending your explorer.exe. You can open programs via the task manager box ie Playonline. I'm not very well versed in computers and i dont know why this helps, but you may want to try it just so you can get ingame.

I've had this problem. I was zoning out of San D'Oria MH and my PC locked up. I crash booted. Came back, and any zone I had been in at all for that session was unaccessable (They were deleted apparently). I did a scan, found the files that were missing or corrupt, replaced them - and thank god they worked.

(I had a friend move me to lower jeuno so I could log in)

I've had this problem once , I had to reinstal Direct X. ver(current version which is? i dont remember lol),but 8 is what comes with FFXI install disc
