So uhm...was unsure wether to publicly post this or not, but my dog of the past nine years, Pepper, sortof...well, died yesterday, from being left out in below 40f weather half of the night. Uncle was plastered and I guess felt cold around the middle of the night, and rather than get the spare blanket we left by where he sleeps he decided to close the backdoor, preventing our dogs from being able to come in/out as they wished...two of our dogs were inside, but Pepper had gone outside, and because how she was trained she didn't bark to be let in...even though it was so cold outside...mom hadn't even told me of this occurance til mid-evening when she asked me to check on Pepper (she was pregnant, I'd assumed mom was casually hinting that she'd had her puppies), but...when I went to check on her, it obviously wasn't the case...I can't help but feel that it's a large degree my fault since it's one of few days I didn't hang out with Pepper in the morning, and I dunno what to do...

I felt I should probably let some people know this cause I know some people were worried about me acting oddly ingame, and this'd be why. Sorry I worried people...and I'm sorry Pepper...

*Bad, late edit* Was Tuesday, not yesterday...f-!king NyQuil's made me lose track of time really badly...

Hate to say it, but I feel the same way too...but it really is totally diferenw ehn someone you see every waking day for half your life is just suddenly gone, y'know?

OMG I am so sorry. I don't know what to say. That is horrible. It is even worse that she was pregnant. I'm sorry for this in advance, but your Uncle is DUMB. It is in no way your fault this happened. Did your Uncle know that is that the door was supposed to be open? I am guess from what you say he did, so correct me if I am wrong. I think he needs to be slapped for that. I hate people who are cruel to animals, unless it was very accidental. Most people should know that a dog should not be left out in the cold like that.

It is sad to loose a companion. Probably not a good idea to let all these feelings stay bottled up either. So take your time to reflect on the good moments. Maybe there are services within your city that help with the grieving process of a loved pet. There are also websites that have articles on the issue if that helps (aspca even has an 800 number for it http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pets_petloss)

On a side note, it is always good to have a makeshift dog house or bedding outside just in case. It may not be the warmest place but can probably help if another dog was left out in the cold on accident. http://www.canismajor.com/dog/winter2.html#Housing

Smoke some pot.
...stfu, a lost love one, human or not, is no laughing matter, which pot is implying. Drugs are NO way to deal with emotional pain because it bottles up emotions that you forget when you're high. The only way to get out of this event mentally intact and healthy is just to think about it, mourne, and pass through it the hard way. Im sorry for your loss; my dog which i was best friends with for all his life died of cancer when my parents wouldnt take him to the vet when i told them to, so I can relate how stupidy can cause problems... I wish you the best on getting through this endeavor.

This isn't a funny reply, you should give some respect...

Sorry to hear that you lost your dog out from the cold...

I have a dog too, i had to keep him outside of the house, cuz parent and my grandmom doesnt' want all bunch of fur around the house, etc, I always check my dog make sure he is warm enough and being take care off, now winter almost near, i wish the heater pad we had mainly for pets hope is useful

Damn, thats rough. Losing pets is always hard...my cat was killed by a dog almost exactly a year ago, idk what would happen to us if somthing happened to our dog. Just remember the good times he brought you :P

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

=/ sorry to hear that... i had a similar incident recently where i blamed my self (and still, to a degree, do.)

About 2 mo. ago, my dog age 7 died mysteriously (autopsy found nothing-guess it was a stroke?) that morning i woke up late, so was rushing out the door to go to school.. when i got downstairs to pop in some toast, i smelled poop and urine smell from my dogs room (sleeps in laundry room)- i heard her get up, jingle her collar, and wimper- called out im sorry, i have to go- just didnt have the time to take care of her at that moment. (mom gets up 40 min after i do)

i figured that my mom forgot to take her out before she went to bed, and that my dog just couldn't hold it anylonger...when the call came an hour and a half ish later, i was furious withmyself.. i felt horrible- that i could have been not selfish and gone in to clean up, in which case i would have seen her barely able to move, and rush her to an animal hospital...

but after they did an autopsy and such, they reassured me thoroughly that had i arrived there with her, that they wouldn't have been able to determine it and that she would have died there instead...

i guess what i'm saying is that, even if you feel that somehow it was your fault or that you could have prevented it, it was actually out of your hands.. your uncle was irresponsible and got wasted, ending up causing Pepper's death- unintentional or not..

Sorry for your loss, Take care ; ;

Why will god damn no one take me seriously when I post that? For the last fucking time: I'M BEING SERIOUS.

Also, I'm not saying you should smoke it cause pot makes all your emotions go away, if anything it makes em more. I'm saying it because you'll feel so fuckin good that other shit just doesn't matter as much.

Oh look at that, someone did believe me finally.
Now if you wann flame anyone, flame Ele. Ok? Alcohol is soooo much worse of a drug for you than pot. But enough of that talk, this isn't a drug discussion thread.

Losing my dog would suck uss, I've had the same once since I was ten, so I've never actually lost one, but I would probably rescue my dog out of a burning building before most people. Sucks to be you.

Step 1. Shove it up your ass.
Step 2. Go troll on someone else's bad day, it's not welcome here. I'm sure you're all smiles and giggles when someone close to you was lost to some bullsh-!t cause too, right? F-!king lowlife.
