Eh.

Yah mandies are naturally pretty resistant. I think the Korrigans are easier than the Puks(Den of Rancor) due to them generally spawning two to three levels lower.

As to charm resistances on plantoids in general, fungies seem to have practically no resistance at all, especially when compared to spiders and crawlers at a comparable level.

It varies a lot even within mob type. For instance, compare charm resistance between sheep, bunnies, tigers, coeurls, and opo-opos(all Beasts).

Ok, mobs > players. Theres nothing that says that this should be untrue. Theres nothing "unfair" about it. Mobs are stronger, it makes things more challenging. Adds variety.

I see nothing wrong with it :P
Having an imbalanced set of stats where your opponent is only stronger because of said stats instead of various abilities and skills is not variety. Mobs are stronger, which makes them more difficult. Ok. Fun? I don't think so. Go read a game design book.

Correct. When reraise is on, you're nigh-invincible and can do the most crazy things and not die. As soon as it wears off it's like losing the wings on a plane.

...this just made my sig, thanks^^.

As to the OP, hang in there and when I hit 75, I'm going to try and get jug burn parties going. I really want to see what Corsair can do for us en-mass.

Back on this JP website I visited, I saw that a lot of Monsters are actually weak to charm, Mandragora included. Only a handful of mobs have Resist Charm (Slimes, Opo-opos, Cactuars, etc...).

I'm sorry, I don't have fun playing kiddy games where all the enemies are as weak or weaker than myself. No challenege = No fun.

Yea, the summons part is what always ticked me off. Fire elemental vs Fire elemental, the mobs will win. And, it may be just me, but the mobs elemental seems to perform better as well. As in casting better spells.

[On an unrleated note, your avatar scares me.]

That makes especially all the online multiplayer games where there is almost no such thing as character stats, or where they can hardly make a difference, kiddy games. And not every offline game is "kiddy" for being a game that doesn't include character stats. A game that is based more off player skill than character skill is not "kiddy", and can be more challenging especially when you are constantly having to adjust to your opponent.

I'm not even sure why you're hounding the character stats thing. I didn't really say anything to the effect that stats are the only thing that make something challenging. I said that in this game the foes are more challenging because they have ridiculously higher stats and that thats not a bad thing.

And in my second post, never did I say mobs have to be weaker in stats for something to be "kiddy." I was referring to the challenge level of a game in general. An enemy that you can easily destroy, regardless of stats, is a "weak enemy." FFXI doesn't happen to have these weak of enemies, and that I said, was a good thing.

I basically agree with what you said, but that type of environment just doesn't exist in this game. Maybe if you didn't take your own meaning out of my posts, you wouldn't need to say anything?

I gamesharked that bitch last week.

I was on BST, which gets considerably less CHR gear than WHM (and I don't have an Osode, so missing 8CHR from that compared to the 2 from Bison)

Also was trying to charm on Thundersday actually, so no, it wouldn't hafto do with increased resistances.

And Tyrath, as I already said, not complaining about how an EM Skeleton Dragoon would more like than not rip a player DRG of any race in half, I'm moreso complaining about how beastmen of (x) job magically get different limiters, best example being how enemy mijin gakure is entire different from the player version.

I should just go back to WoW, crap on FFXI.

I.E. the easier game, lol. Seriously what you "are" and "aren't" comparing are relatively the same thing. Mobs difficulty and strength isn't just measured in its dmg or hp, but ALL of its abilities (including success rate).

Bare in mind, we have one major advantage over all the mobs in this game that they will never truly have... intelligence (well some of us anyway >.>).
This I believe is the major reason why mobs SHOULD out-perform the pc equivalent, simply because if they were equal to us in ability, it would be as boring to lvl as it is in WOW ( I took my warlock to 16 and quit the game, didn't seem right I could solo exp mobs while farming, the game just bored me. From what I understand, it's a purely an end-game based game ).
