You killed everything but the boss before engaging him, and yet he still had the Cure move?

The solo pop that wanders around the room is believed to lock the NM's invincibility move (in this case, the Cure one). If you killed that pop and he still had it... oh snap.

We killed that too, we had someone on the lookout running around trying to find it, when he did, we slept everything on us and focused on the pops (it died in like 5 seconds) no noticeable effect on the run at all.

I take it his Cure move couldn't be stunned?

It can actually, but with an estimated 100k hp or something crazy, take quite a few chain stunners to make it work. Normal stunning wouldn't work, because it does it so much, you wouldn't beat it cause of recast timers

edit: the real trick is figuring out the cause of it, I'm leaning towards JA's triggering it, but not sure since it was only once we've fought the marid.

Well guys, we had the 7 doomed mobs, and we cleared them with ease. We only had 14 people, but 6 of them were BLMs. We had the Marid boss as well, and he seems to have about 100k hp. He uses that heal move about every 10-15 seconds, and even with 6 BLMs we only got it to 80% (someone then missed a stun, and it healed 7k hp, for 7%, so 100k hp is about right), -however- here's the kicker. My last stun of the run (after maybe... 50 total stuns) was -resisted-!

That being said, there has to be -some- sort of trick to disable his healing move, or something! Think about it, with 100k HP... and after ~50 stuns it resists a stun, and you consider he uses that healing move every 12 seconds(5x a minute) that's dealing 100k dmg over 10 minutes, without missing a single stun. 10kdmg per minute?

It was fun, though!

The random mob also never spawned on our run.

Throw some Ridills and KC Drks at it. Should do the trick.

Either that or I missed it in the very early stages, which I find hard to believe, unless it spawned/dissapeared in a manner of seconds.

I was runnin around watchin for it the whole time. didn't see a thing :(

You're problem was you took Duncan with you. /comfort. :(

Why you gotta go there taru? :nono:

Cause it is the truth. It may just be 1 room but you would find a ways to get lost!!

Anyone find anything more about the random mob?

It basically spams the move if you have melees on it, and stun seems to start resisting once you get it past a certain hp% possibly.

NAh, it's not a certain %, because when my stun got resisted it was back up to 93%, whe nwe had it all the way down to 78% and were still landing stuns.

What kind of melee's? Fast hitting, TP-feeding hounds?

Most mobs don't spam their 100%+ TP move until they get below 25% hp. These NMs might use them immediately after breaking 100%. They get 5% (I think?) per nuke. Add in mass melee TP feeding, Necrosis could have a strong point to consider (the one about melee's on it).

That's true, but we only actually had... 5 melee I think. MNK WAR NIN DRG... and something else.

We had 5 BLMs but they were so focused on stunning we didn't nuke that much. He never used any tp move other than Proboscis shower, we never saw a single Djigga.

10% per nuke.

And mobs don't use abilities soon as they get 100% TP untill they reach below 25%. Considering mobs, even in merit parties, get 100% TP within a couple of seconds. TP usage is time and HP restricted.

Some mobs, however, don't have the same restrictions, and some just have reduced restrictions. Mainly bosses, HNM's etc. Like this boss. The only move he have is the self-heal move, and he spams it regardless, with or without TP.

There is most likely a way to lock it, however. People just haven't figured out how. A group on bluegartr managed to lock his TP spammage for like 30 seconds.

So far I have gathered that RNG and BLM can do nice dmg to the most of the bosses. Anyone lose who had plenty of time for boss?

We did, we had like 16 minutes left when we engaged boss, and got it as low as 78% with only 14 people.. but the Marid's heal spam is rediculous. There -must- be some way to lock it. I have yet to read about anyone on any of the forums beating the Marid boss.

Nyzul weapons?
