Elitemage and a Boyhada Party

Would it be more Prompt to be Leetmageorz instead of Eleitemage? I mean if he's gonna be a noob, minuswell name himself like a Noob.

As for gil sellers not generating any new money, that straight up bullcrap. Two words for you. ARCHER RING

On topic: I remember once being assured by this guy every member had 2 hours before getting me to come to Boyagda Tree. I eat a JackOLatern. 5 seconds later, someone says they're leaving in 10 minutes.

I was pissed from then on because I knew he lied to me straight up to get me there.

Certain gilsellers are generating new gil in the economy. It's not the Archer rings ones though, that truly is "straight up bullcrap".

The gilsellers that are generating "new gil" by selling to NPC, as opposed to recycling current gil, are the fishbots in Yughott Grotto. Go check them out, they have a nice racket- the new fishing system doesn't incur fatigue for fishing items, so they stand there all day getting rusty caps, rusty picks, and silver rings. They have 2 manned accounts there as well- one who cleans up the rustys for sale to an NPC and desynths the rings into ingots, the other who runs back and forth, buying crystals and selling the ingots at AH, and selling the cleaned rustys at NPC. And before you say "Oh no, they nerfed rusty fishing, you must be full of shit" check this out:

High end, a stack of light crystals is currently 6K. That's 500 gil per synth. Sales to an NPC on:
Padded Cap, about 850-900 gil
Strong Cap, about 3500 gil
War Pick, about 3200 gil

Oh yes, there's also a guy Lloo in Bastok Mines, who's cleaning rustys 24/7 by the Mog House entrance. I don't know where his suppliers are though, they aren't as conspicuous as the bots in Yughott.

I wish SE nerf selling back to NPC even more :( (they did that in the last update)

Yes, I have noticed these. It is Rthewrtr's crew.

You really are an idiot.

Thank you. NEW money, is gil that was not already in the market. Therefore, if a "gilseller" sells a ring on the AH, it is not creating new gil, it is simply recycling old gil. NEW gil is money dropped off gobs or items sold to NPC's as well as quests and such. Inflation comes from more NEW money coming into a market the OLD money going out. People buying NPC items and such LOWER the amount of gil in the market. The reason for inflation is that there are more people selling items to NPC than buying from them. The ways that money is taken OUT of the market are too few and far between. Dynamis is the only one I can think of that makes a significant dent at 1 million an orb. Oh yeah, fricking gold earring for Ranger AF is another 120k....

But way to make a great point...

Fae

Well, don't forget that the AH fees and sushi can take a pretty decent dent out of the game's economy, given enough time.

Yes, I did just say sushi. Why? Ground wasabi. The only known way to get it is from NPCs (either Norg or the Tenshodo), and it's about 2k per jar. And it's used in every sushi recepie. And one synth of sushi doesn't make much - about 2-4 servings, depending on what kind of sushi.

But I've gotten off topic. What SE needs to do isn't necesarially nerf NPC buy prices, it's add more gilsinks to the game. The sushi example I just gave is one good thing. If SE adds more NPC-only items - preferrably consumables - that are highly desired and highly priced, I think we'll see gil being drained somewhat quickly. Although, to make sure crafters are still needed, the new consumables should be crafted from items that are only bought from NPCs

So the other day I was in a party as my war. I changed jobs to my pld so I wouldn't get aggro walking through sea serpent grotto (note that I'm in the party at this point so /sea displays me as being in a party). I get to the nomad moogle there and Elitemage asks me to join a party. WTF? I tell him "I'm in one idiot." because seriously... wtf? Who asks someone to join a party WHEN THEY'RE IN ONE?! He says something along the lines of "Jackasses like you are the type who won't make it far in this game." This coming from someone who's rank one (Because quests are boring and he doesn't need an airship pass because teleport and chocoing is faster... wtf?) and asks people to join parties who are in parties. -.- Just glad to know other people think he's mentally unstable too.

He does fit his title. I partied with him in the tree.... and he ws quite agitated.

He hates Paladins because he thinks nobody can do the job properly. Correction, he hates all NA paladins.

He comes off as a know-it-all. Knowing this, knowing that..... but not the I really want to take this guy's advice know it all. This is just my experience with him.

As for actual play. When he was playing bard with us, he was quite militant about the positions which is understandable. I think he kept all his songs on us. When he left though, for some reason, I'm not thinking of a graceful farewell. Anyways, just wanted to say he didn't do anything extradinarily bad with my encounter with him.

I remember he was shouting in Jeuno for something, I laughed my ass off at the time. I remember his name, but not the shout. Damn booze.

only time I've ever seen this guy was when he was in a party with mystangel...

they seemed to be getting along well... need I say more?

I remember one time he was a BLM I think, maybe RDM but he was spamming nukes nonstop and would end off every fight with as close to 0 MP as possilbe. I was playing WAR and he would NOT stop telling me how to tank cause I was an idiot and doing it wrong, according to him. He sure didn't make it easy to tank chaincasting but I did not lose hate to him once that entire time. When I got back to jueno after the pt ended i see him shouting that I'm a horrible tank and wouldn't take advice on how to do my job better. WTF! All of the stuff he wouldn't stop telling me to do was wrong anyway, he's obviously never played a tanking job before. I don't see why he hates me so much, seriously he came through that pt without a scratch on him. If I was doing something stupid, playing badly, losing hate to him on every fight or poorly equipped then yeah, he'd have a right to complain but seriously, he had absolutely nothing to complain about.

and on the subject of leaving without notice, sometimes emergencies or other things happen where you'll have to leave without notice, and I understand that, life happens, but seriously, how many times is that REALLY going to happen? I don't really ask for much, just like 30 mins, enough time for a replacement to be found and get on his/her way, but some people are just inconsiderate, selfish asses.

I don't understand the differnce between NEW gil or OLD gil. The only NEW gil is gil obtained, such by farming, questing, missions, NM's, vendors, etc. All gil obtained is NEW gil. Stop making up new lterms. Gil sellers are always making new gil.

Oh yeah, almost forogt, Eat shit and die Firestreak.

Ok.... Lemme see if I can explain this.

Say you have a bowl of milk with 10 guys swimming around in the milk (you can call the milk the market) waiting for you to poor some coco puffs in. These guys use the coco puffs for trading barter, services between each other etc....

Since your the one pouring the coco puffs your an NPC. Now since they want you to pour in some coco puffs you tell them you want them to do some quests, go mine some stuff, or go kill stuff for you in return, they do it and you give them some coco puffs. This is "new gil" that enters the market (or milk) or in this case "coco puffs paid by NPC's".

Pretty soon these guys doing all this stuff becomes pretty rich. Their wealth accumulates, and the total gil (coco pufs) between all these guys become rather large. The passing of the gil (coco pufs) between each other is the "old gil", its old because its gil (coco pufs) that already was in the market (milk).

Pretty soon these guys become so rich they start paying each other HUGE sums of "old gil" to each other for services and such because they want it first, the wanna be the baddest, the wanna get chicks etc etc...... This is Called INflation. The way you decrease inflation is to get rid of some of the "old gil" in the pool so that everybody has less to spend ridicoulously.

This is where the Auction house fees and NPC selling things come in. Because you are an NPC and they want to buy from you they give you some coco puffs and then the "old gil" leaves the bowl, thus the pool of old gil becomes smaller. And people have less opportunity to spend foolishlly.

HOpefully that made sense so I don't have to write another crazy ass fuckin story like that cuz i'm bored at home on a day off an dunno what the fuck to do.

lol.

Money and Gil is infinite, will always be generating. Because you take and recieve is like -1+1. All gil made and all money made is new. Until you can explain to me in a proven economic fact, of what this old and new gil really is, then stop making up words.

Ok well I tried dude, really did. Anyway to work on your current statment, where do you think gil is generated from? I mean where is all the XTRA gil coming from in the market?

The AH merely passes the gil from person to person, and takes some in fees. The gil must come from someplace. But where?

The Jueno mint?

In other words how do you get gil that did not previously belong to someone else. If you can figure that part out, you have your "new gil".
