Elitists never learn, do they?

I'm not gonna look up the post to quote it but

Bramd does have a HNMLS and Ridill > Ebody but having both is no joke.
Stacking Ridill with Ebody and a good amount of ACC gear will let you use meat without sacrficing too much acc. Meritting 5 agg 5 berserk to keep ACC & DOT high will help this a lot too as DA can't proc over multi hit weapons and you can get brutal earrings now.

i've been messing around with my suppanomimi for about 30 minutes, wearing it, taking it off, and judging the TP reduction

Maneater/Seiryu's Sword

Without Suppa:
Every round of attacks returns 12% TP

With Suppa:
I get two different amounts of TP per attack round, 11% & 12%. Each round of attacks goes back and forth between 11%, and 12%, which leads me to conclude that with this weapon setup, I'm losing 1% TP every other round of attacks (or .5% lost per attack round)

being the max TP% per attack round (pre-suppa) was 12%, this means I'm losing 4.16% of my TP per attack round (correct my math if wrong, plz)

however, being that Suppanomimi reduces Delay (When Dual-wielding) by 5%,
my attack speed increases by 5%, but TP gain decreases by 4.16%, giving the slight edge to Suppanomimi

(edit: Suppanomimi Dual Wield Delay information can be found here)

Here's my latest parse I just got out of this Party...

Enemy: Decorative Weapon

Seveath -- WAR/NIN [Hedgehog Pie]
Average Damage: 1107.39
Average Percent: 22.78
Average Accuracy: 80.19

Decidence -- NIN/WAR [Sole Sushi]
Average Damage: 1505.97
Average Percent: 31.09
Average Accuracy: 95.48

Hid -- WAR/NIN [Sole Sushi]
Average Damage: 1158.72
Average Percent: 23.84
Average Accuracy: 96.33

Zelocke -- WAR/NIN [Squid Sushi]
Average Damage: 1173.53
Average Percent: 24.17
Average Accuracy: 94.34

Thought it might be a decent comparison since people using different foods.

no offense, but a parse by itself doesn't mean shit

what gear were they wearing? did they spam WS @ 100-110%? did they do stupid shit like using Rampage when the mob has 2% HP left? not going to name any names but a couple of the wars in that parse I have personally examined before, and their gear was not very impressive compared to what I have, or any other WAR's that I personally respect as understanding their job (Jamal, Olsmulga to name a couple)

it's easier to bling a NIN out than it is to bling a WAR out (Ridill & E.Body are a bajillion times harder to get than an Osode/D.Body/AF2/whatever else you can think of for NIN)

next time you merit Deci, see if I'm online, my gear isn't the absolute best but it's not shitty either, I have a nice haste build (19% not counting DWII) and capped combat skill/warrior merits

would like to see where I land in one of your parses :)

ninja editing my post:

highest damaging war was using squid sushi in that parse, and came out with almost 1200 damage per fight

thats says a lot right there :|

Look at the screenshot of average damage per swing and average damage per weapon skill, you should be able to know basically where you would fit in based on those. None of the WAR's used Mighty Strikes during any of the party. Seveath was the only one that used a Rampage when the mob was at low health (notice his lowest WS damage), we were actually working well together at not wasting a WS to a low health mob.

PS: Are you including Suppanomimi in that 19% Haste?

yes, suppanomimi is included in my haste setup (when I list my haste build, I list all gear that increases my attack speed), I don't list job traits or haste spell/song (obviously)

Also I just feel I should note that the difference between Squid Sushi and Sole Sushi isn't so huge like you guys make it sound.

Because DWeapons have quite low VIT (a Aura Statue has between 68-71 VIT so let's estimate a Weapon has 60 which may even be a bit high) which
means you only need 108 STR to hit the max fSTR which is calculated with this chart http://pamama.hp.infoseek.co.jp/FF11kensyou/kensyou5-03-10-31.html

Now assuming he already breaks the fSTR cap and has 13 fSTR then the only other thing more STR is affecting in the Rampages is his WSC calculation.

Assume he has 108 STR using Squid and 113 using Sole (that extra 5 STR is useless for fSTR at this point) his WSC calculations would then be...

(50 + 13 + 53.12) * 0.5 = 58.06 * PDIF
(50 + 13 + 55.61) * 0.5 = 59.30 * PDIF

*50 is the base damage of mainhand weapon

Now you ask what PDIF is. Well its the difference between your ATK and the enemies DEF. Let's just say the enemies DEF is 420 for argument's sake as this has been a general estimate for DWeapons (420-440). The WAR's ATK with Berserk up is 525 with Squid and 527 with Sole let's say. PDIF then equals 1.25 for both (Look food made absolutely no difference in the most important part of this calculation).

58.06 * 1.25 = 72.57
59.30 * 1.25 = 74.12

So per hit of a Rampage the difference in damage in this experiment is only 1.55 damage. Keep in mind this doesn't include critical chance and the enemies VIT and DEF are hypothetical and could differ slightly. Sure Sole Sushi is better, but you guys make it sound like Food makes or breaks you.

+18% Equip
+5% Suppa
+30% DWIII
+20% Haste Spell

73% haste to my weapons in a normal situation. Which equals 1.02 seconds delay on my weapons. And if I'm lucky and get March x2 then I hit 93% and have 0.26 second delay which when Double Attacks come into play is almost like a persistent Hundred Fists. This is why I love Bards =)

The reason I parse so high I expect is a combination of high DoT from Haste and Accuracy equipment and a full 8 equipment slot gear swap for Weapon Skills that give me STR 109, DEX 107, and ATK 423 (528 w/ Berserk) which I believe rivals most well equipped WAR's. Throw in maxed merits in Katana and Critical Hits (I haven't Merited STR yet although thats next) and months of aquiring and testing different setups and I believe I put in the work necessary to get these results.

i used to wear dusk gloves, but I didnt like having my attack go sub-400 with a haste build

+14% Equip
+5% Suppa
+15% DWII
+20% Haste Spell

54% haste is what I'd be looking at under optimal circumstances (discounting a bard), which would put my mainhand weapon at 2.1 seconds and offhand at 1.8 seconds (with a 50% Double Attack Rate, being Joyeuse)

edit: and yeah, most (i'd say about 8/10) wars I merit with don't macro in any gear on rampage, that I've been able to see, this is why I <3 windower, i've got 5 gear swaps on Rampage, including Soil Gorget

I thought you only attack as fast as your slowest delay?

you mean 1.8 (being the lowest of the two weapons, after haste) x 2?

No I mean, I thought if you are dual wielding two weapons with different delays that your attack speed will be clamped to your largest delay. Like if you Dual Wield a 400 delay weapon and a 200 delay weapon you will have 400 delay, not 200 delay, and not 300 delay. Ive never tested it I just figured that this is how it would work since you can't swing at different delays in 1 attack.

PS: I made a typo above when I said DWIII was 30%, I meant DWIV.

dual weild
add both up and thats your delay
with dual 1 u take 10% of that total delay of
D2 +5 more on
d3 +5 more
d4 +5 more

and any "encahce dul weild" means +5% take off total delay
with haste thats 10% more taken off and the brd song is 10% again
so thats alot and thats why a nin is a DD post 65 as all the dual weild
