Spring Breeeeeeeeeeeak. Get caught up in in!
I'm home for spring break and have gotten mighty distracted by some part time work and home stuff. I'm just going to do some random art and give you all something meatier in the next couple of days. Enjoy!

This was my first project for Graphic Novel class where we had to talk about our most embaressing moment. While I'm not sure this was true I did indeed light my dad on fire.

This was is from a Full Metal Alchemist comic that is in limbo right now. I have a lot of comics already penned out with stick figures and text waiting for a chance to shine but I get overwhelmed with school projects and don't finish them.

In closing, just a picture of my DS. Behold it's clunkiness in all it's glory then avert your eyes in shame, envying it and only urning for your DS to achieve such greatness.

I feel sleepy.

I seemed to drop off the side of the earth there. I kinda got caught up with spring break and getting a Macbook (oh noez!) and i dont have much art on it at the moment.
I don't have that meaty post i promised ready but expect it soon. So let's hop into the Delorean and head back to 2004 to see some early FFXI sketches from a young pimply Elpon.

The Sig collection

Since I'm in a nostalgic mood as of lately I thought it would be cool to show off the various sigs I've done. Now I just say that I'm not going to be taking sig requests at the moment and I have a feeling if I did I would not get them done. So enjoy, I'm very proud of all these sigs and I am happy to see a few of them still floating around QCDN.

Pas's sig is an interesting phenomenon. The style of it was a happy accident and I have not really been able to recreate it since. If ever I get back into sigs I would love to do them in this style.

This is the beginning of a side project I'm doing. It's just something I wanted to do outside of school projects. I'll also be documenting the progress to give you a behind the scenes look at how I make these.

Ha yeah, it started out as a joke but that eventually became my signature. I wasn't able to add myself to all of them but if you spot a sig with a taru in a red cap it was probably me.

That was just a start and I completed a whole page just based on that little part. I put the image into a gif to show the progress. I messed up on looping the image so if you miss the whole thing just reload or go to the image source.

Why yes, yes I am. This is a three part piece I'm doing. Each layer could be considered it's own work but I'm layering them. They are all going to be colored with the same color scheme in my monkey piece (gradient on gradient).

Huh, forgot I didn't post this before. Well it will have the same effect but less obvious.

Here is the second piece that I'm putting on top of the one i just showed you.

There is going to be a third layer from the street sort of imitating the city scrape. The back to layers will not have regular lines and they will be all color.

Haha that's a fun interpretation. I was trying to imitate tree roots and I came out sort of like those barrel full of monkies shapes.

Crazy end of the semester stuff has kept me away so I don't have much to offer at the moment. Here is a comic i did for a class last semester.

Note: Panels are in pairs [][]
If you havn't noticed, the running theme of all my works is "unfinished". IEaBWaP was supposed a long comic that was going to have a few stories but I ended up only with time for this. This will be colored eventually. Summer will bring plenty of time to play catch up with all my work.

Oh yeah I do get that alot and I'm a huge Gorrilaz fan. The art style of the Gorrilaz is definitely inspiration. I hope though to develop it more and create my own thing. For example I really like the look of the characters with no pupils but I've seen plenty of people attempt this and I just makes the characters look like they lack expression.
I hope to show off some post semester work in the coming weeks. I have an children's book to make (yay final project!) so if I'm not dead from exhaustion I'll post some of that.
