So I have decided to level BLM to 75, And currently I don't think I can hit the 320/120 build.

From what gather from relatively easy to get gear be it AH, assault or 4-5 man NM, I can barely hit 120 INT using every slot with as much INT as possible. That would leave next to to room for Ele Skill equips.

If any Elvaan has reached this or come close please let me know what your wearing.

Thanks

Don't bother about 320/120 things, if you suck on accuracy pile on elemental skill, forget int. Merit (16), torque (7), hands (15), body (6) is 320 skill and any 75 BLM can get this easily from AH/AF.

The 320/120 is mostly BS anyway since 2 HnMs will have different INT and elemental resistance.

Assuming Ice-spells i use for skill

Aquilos (+10) Af1+1 hands (+15) Genie weskit (+6) max merits (+16) Base skill 276 = 323 skill

Int

Aquilos (+5) Ixion cape (+5) Prudence torque (+5) Af1+1 hands (+3) Sorc belt (+6) Morrigan legs (+10) Yigit feet (+3) Snowringx2 (+10) Phantom tathlum (+2) = 49

My base int as BLM/RDM is 71, so thats 120

It also leaves me with atleast a fair share of Mab, +21 to be exact.

I havent looked into it in a while but i think this is the best combo you can do, or was last time i played regulary. I also have sorc petasos, merciful cape, nashira crackows, ele torque and so on, but i dont see much use for em.

Granted all of this gear isnt readily avalable for the general public. For thunder (or other spells) You could use a elemental earring and sorc petasos to hit 320 skill and a high int body like errant to hit int. If you have a morrigan you should probably use that either way.

Anyways, its doable but elvaan blm takes a bit more dedication to the job.

Yo Caer i got a question: U know i'm elvaan BLM too,but my base int BLM/RDM is only 66 w/o any merits,how can u have 71 with same character?O.o

With Five INT merits? :)

Now thats dedication.

What Hmkiroko said. Blm was my first job to 75, and all my merits will always be set to cater blm above all.

Well thats what i thought later then^^

ele 324 & thunder spell, 120 int. If you use NQ errant houppeland and HQ errant slops you get the same INT, elemental skill. Granted, you still need a few e-peen pieces.

Not much of that can really be considered e-peen anymore, except the robe, cause retarded frogs are retarded. I prefer ice when possible cause it allows for way more M.ab. I would switch out. I have all that gear - The robe.

I would still try for a more M.ab heavy set.

Jupiters staff, sorc petasos, Genie weskit, ixion cape, bugard strap, Prudence Torque, wizard gloves +1, sorcerers belt ( i have a witch sash i use for rdm, but i wanna remember that bugards strap beat out 3% on wise strap, so it should be the same for belt), Novio and moldavite ear, 2x int rings, morrigans slops, yigit crackows and food.

(Pchan only has +48 int in gear for those that didnt notice.)

292+10+6+15= 323 skill
71+5+1+5+3+6+10+10+3+2+6 = 122 int
6+5+7+3 = 21 M.ab

The AF2 hat is the only e-peen piece is that SS, and you need to combine it with cream puff, as it is the best BLM food currently (+7 INT, HP-10). Everything else is AH-able, and some kinda free like the cape/feet. But like I said that should not be the setup you want to use. The 320/120 thing has nothing to back it up. I'd say load on elemental skill with weskit, torque, AF gloves : those are really cheap, and put you at 320 skill. But with this gear you won't be able to reach you 120 INT you wanted, that's why I mentioned errant body(+1) which is the best body for accuracy assuming dint<10 and put out comparable damage to lolweskit.

I dont see how the AF2 hat would be e-peen with the increased droprate in northlands. Morrigan's robe and slops take's way more effort to get imo. Only you can do that event more often. You could get retardedly lucky on frogs and chariots i suppose and complete it in 3 runs, while in theory you need to complete 5 dynamis runs and get lucky on your 6th to get a hat. But the average robe takes way more effort then a sorc. hat to get. Not to mention how easily you can get stuff in dynamis while practically beeing afk the entire time.

Neither of them are actually hard to get i suppose tho, but i would respect the effort to get a morrigan's robe way more then a sorc hat.

W/e you say, BLM hat, RDM hat are rare piece and pretty hard to get, because xarcabard is the hardest zone, and a realistic LS will not spam it, and most likely you are not the first in your LS after those.

Also frogs don't drops morrigan leg/body.

Sue me, it's quiqirn, (i know i know, not the legs) i dont play much anymore. And every dynamis shell i been in the last 4 years has always just spammed northlands, cause of how uneven the drops where noone ever needed anything in citys. And no, blm and rdm are not rarer then any other northland AF, which arent rare at all. I have gotten 7 xarc af's w/o even really trying. And no, im not counting stuff like drg or sam.

By that i dont mean that morrigan robes are rare either, but alot more so then some xarc Af. The only thing that's still fairly rare on our server is D.rings and AV-items. Except for thew non existant stuff like PW items.

I took you 4 years to get rdm hat, no ? How can you say it's not rare. Same applies to BLm hat, if you just hit 75 BLM, join a dynamis shell today and want it I give you at least 1 year.

I'd say it depends on what you classify as rare or epeen.

I wouldn't say they go hand-in-hand. If you only go by how rare the item is, I'd say the only epeen mage items are Roundel Earring and Aurole (sp?), and possibly AF2+1 items, although that is arguable.

If you go by how good and useful they are, I'd say BLM AF2 hat, RDM AF2 hat, morrigan body+legs, novio, tamas ring, BLM AF1+1 hat etc. are all epeen items. While not rare, are among the best you can get, and thus epeen.

Sure, there's some literally useless items that'd be considered epeen, but I don't think classifying only rare items as epeen items would make the term justice. There's epeen items from both categories, no?

Well, or I suppose you could say the secnd category would be "leet", and not epeen, but what's the point of showoff rare items if they're not useful anyway?

Edit: Besides, if you only go by how "rare" an item is, no item will be epeen eventually as the number of said items increases. This discussion would be good proof of that.

Because since that time, they changed the droprate. It's like saying E.body is rare still, because once upon a time it took people years to get.

Yeah, This isn't the flameboard so I won't name any names. But when you see certain great sword/justice torque wielding drks in ebodies you know its not exactly rare anymore... /sigh

Another question... Does macc effect the resistance rates of a nuke?

So would +1-2 macc be better than a few int?

EDIT : I can't type today
