Ironically, leaving Quetz and joining a shell where I could literally get anything I wanted (up to and including a relic weapon) has pretty much killed my desire to do endgame. I've fought/tanked every monster I ever really wanted to, killed all of them but AV, and had a lot of fun, but I think I'm just about ready to retire from FFXI entirely.
That and my computer ate itself a couple weeks back and since we just moved I still can't find my damn discs to reinstall.
I miss the old days, when there was a ton of stuff I had never done and endgame was a new experience for me. I've been playing some WoW, but honestly, the average WoW player makes me want to fire tactical nuclear missiles at Blizzard's servers. WoW may be a technically superior game in some ways, but on average I find the player base to be vastly inferior to FFXI.
