End-Game Item E-Peen Rating!

Well ideally people are supposed to take both into consideration since the whole point of e-peening is to do crazy high damage in parses, lol. But not everyone has to share my criteria. I posted explaining my ratings and how I got them in relation to my criteria listed in the op in my voting post. Thus why I gave haidate a 5 since it's stupidly common but when it comes to going out and meleeing you aren't going to find much better for several jobs to put on that slot while tping.

Too many melee items and not enough mage gear.

The problem with a lot of these items is they've been around a long long time so many have lost their appeal or the reality of how impossible to obtain it is has taken hold of many players. Even with Einherjar which still remains difficult even though it's only been a short time, I doubt many will see themselves with these unless something drastic occurs. Perseus's Harpe and Kraken rate low for me because you don't even need an end game shell, you just need a small group of friends. Plus you see a lot of kraken's in the hands of idiots these days.

BB is fairly common or purchased. Dalmatica is worthless and there is better for almost every job that can use it plus it's puke green. Divisor ring isn't hard to get, you can get a small group for it, just rare. Haidate is common but still the best piece. Hauteclaire is probably the only thing that's amazing simply because it's new and rare as well as the best piece available.

it's also nice for BLM if you are standing around and not resting -- however morrigan's and sorc's coat do the same thing.

And that's why they are useless. Morrigan's is far better for both jobs and give usefull stats. Although you can use it for convert or max MP on BLM, it's not worthwhile in my opinion. You can get different A abjs which will do the same thing and for convert all you need is a the highest HP with a 1:1 ratio of MP to HP to get the max out of convert. For BLM, Sorcerer's coat provides at least some useful stats and Morrigan gives a lot more (although I can't remember anything besides the +8 INT off the top of my head).

The only job that could argue for it maybe BRD in my opinion since they might lack auto refresh options besides vermy which takes 2 slots, but then again, I don't know what they can and cannot equip at the moment.

lets evaluate. you say morrigans is better than dalmatica for RDM? how? its called macros. you get 50 more mp on dalm, the same refresh effect... you *should not* be enfeebling in morrigans robe in most cases, so you'd be *macro'ing* it out for this if you know what you are doing :P hence, its not any better for RDM. unless you want to be a lolmelee rdm.

and as i stated above with BLM, that dalm wasnt that special, but was nice. dalm = sorc coat < morrigans

I am at work so a lot of pictures don't load for me for some annoying reason. Needless to say, I have no idea what you put and the stats of Morrigan's. My point which I think flew right by you, was that you don't need Dalmatica to get max MP. The only time besides when you first start any party, max MP is useless. After that, the only time "max MP" becomes a concern is convert. However, the max MP and max MP for a convert are two entirely seperate things. To make the most out of convert, you need to get 1:1 HP to MP and maximize the two at the same time. You can do this fairly well without a dalmatica since all of the A. abjurations will provide you with the same 50 HP to MP, just without the auto refresh and the months spent camping for it.

"fairly well" and "useless" are not the same. hate to tell you. max mp is useless after initially using it, but you are trying to tell me that morrigans robe is better for RDM when its not, unless you are going to be meleeing. max mp or not, its still a provided additional stat that morrigans robe *does not* have.

morrigans is also not the easiest thing to obtain, so i wouldnt make it out to be "walk in the park" compared to receiving a dalmatica.

It's an idle piece, it does not need to be used for Convert. I also don't understand why nearly everyone overlooks the MDB+5 which trumps every other body equipment to idle with. It's a very situational piece this way, I think soloing RDM's use it best. For monsters that cannot be stunned or silenced and cast Firaga III; I'd say no other piece compares.

Not to mention dalmatica has resist paralyze! But yeah, dalm is pretty much a 98% of the time-piece for me on brd, only swap it out for a sec at the beginning of song-casts, then swap it right back.

And its also the perfect idle-piece on blm. People argue that morrigans is better, but a larger part of the time i would probably prefer to nuke in my genie, cause most things i fight requires a decent chunk of elemental magic.

So to me, morrigans would probably be used the same way dalmatica is used today, only it wouldnt provide me with a free blink, part of reraise or other buffs.

Most ppl that says dalmatica is worthless, never owned one. Granted its not an end all, be all piece, but its far from worthless.

And yeah, the magic defense bonus is a great added perk to.

Don't forget the conversion factor if you have a sorc ring. Less pieces of gear needed for the removal of hp. Also the extra mp for buffs before a solo fight.

Peace,
Shmed

Added Wave Two. You can keep voting for Wave One if you haven't already. Everything above this post has already been counted so if you edit those posts or whatever the votes won't be reflected. Sticking to mostly (h)nm, sky, and assault again with one sea item. Going to branch out more in Wave Three to salvage and limbus and possibly dynamis depending on how many I pick from the first two, lol.

Wave Two:
Crimson Cuisses (5)
Kirin's not nearly the formidable foe he once was.
Defending Ring (10)
Drop Rate of a Ridill on a King...and used correctly can turn lolprd into PLD
Hecatomb Cap (6)
Fairly common Faffy drop, but nothing close to it for Head WS Gear.
Herald's Gaiters (8 ) Would be 10 except for the fact they're dropab..err sellable
Ice Gauntlets (1)
Was this a mistake?
Koenig Cuirass (8 ) Sex Factor alone brings it to 8. Many alternatives nowadays though
Novia Earring (7)
Sha'ir Manteel (7)
10 if it was crafted from a Vrtra Kill, but the ability to get ingredients elsewhere drops it slightly
Speed Belt (9) End all be all of waist equip besides the Sash
Vivian Ring (8 )Rarity alone brings this up here

These are TUFF! Ice Guantlets are a good solo/PVP piece, but I can't really justify seeing them here...but they did warrant a good times thread by someone...If I wasn't drowned by 500 other good times threads by the same person, I might actually take a closer look.

Wasn't a mistake, trying to put 1-2 "surprise" items on each list, to get people thinking. They have their place, and I want to know what people think about them.

If its a scale of difficulty I don't think anything can rate higher then a 9 that's not a relic weapon.

Well, depends on what you consider difficult.

Time and Money sinks aren't difficult, which a lot of people usually use to refer to when talking about how hard it is to upgrade a relic weapon.

Getting the fragment is the hardest part of the quest, really. Attestation second, mostly due to (likely) having to fight multiple times until your specific one drops.

Everything else can literally be completed with having only stepped in to Dynamis once, virtually solo.

Crimson Cuisses (6)
They're common enough being from Kirin, but they're still a top piece for all the jobs that can wear them, and PLD gets alot of power out of them when kiting

Defending Ring (10)
The One Ring, nothing else need be said.

Hecatomb Cap (7)
Common enough drop from the NM you likely do the most, but it's the best WS headpiece for all the jobs that can wear it.

Herald's Gaiters (7)
Good for keeping up with kiting tanks, and for getting to fafnir that much quicker. Fairly rare, seeing as they aren't a 100% drop and can only pop twice a week (usualy) per server.

Ice Gauntlets (3)
Easy enough to get, and not gamebreaking at 75

Koenig Cuirass (7) Not spectacular, but really rare and the best piece when enmity isn't an issue.

Novia Earring (6)
Not that great, but really rare

Sha'ir Manteel (7) Much more common after the introduction of BV2, but still top-grade BRD Body

Speed Belt (8)
Uncommon and amazing, but the introduction of the R/EX piece brings this one down a little

Vivian Ring (9)
Hard drop, and best MP ring period.
