End-Game Item E-Peen Rating!

Vampiric claws are the only hand to hand weapons in the game that are not blunt damage, and they're the only ones that Monk can use with drain HP too. They're a huge pain to get(just getting people to go to the Aqueducts, kill the NM and then get the drop); so they're pretty rare. They're something only a serious monk would want, which is why all the non-monks are giving them 1's and 2's.

Duelist's Chapeau: Pretty much the best relic to come out of dynamis.

Ebisu Fishing Rod: Outside of relic weapons (and arguably harder depending on your bad luck), the hardest thing to get in the game. What e-peen is all about, not to mention it's an incredibly good fishing rod.

Homam Gambieras: Pretty good, acc and haste. Can't go wrong there. Better than Dusk Ledelsens in my opinion.

Homam Manopolas: Beautiful for pld and not so bad for anyone else who can equip.

Morrigan's Robe: Still very rare so bonus points for that, also a pretty fucking hot piece of equip stat-wise. Not much negative about this thing.

Nashira Manteel: Never really understood the appeal in this thing, aren't there better items? Very noticeable from a distance and not super common so gets points for that.

Nashira Seraweels: Maybe other mages can give more enlightenment, but to me this looks like the only piece of Nashira gear that's really worth owning.

Usukane Sune-Ate: Holy crap are these things awesome. To me probably the best thing you can get at all from salvage for any job.

Valor Surcoat: A signature piece for plds. Instantly recognizable, moderately rare, and very nice stats.

Vampiric Claws: I'm not 100% sure on the rarity or drop rate (I fought Tres Duendes 3 times to get my pair and a few times after and they didn't drop again), but the beauty of these is to allow a monk to do slashing damage, and this is the only h2h equip where that's possible. Oh, and the added effect pretty much never procs, if anyone was wondering.

Yea Ebisu is honestly harder than Maat cap lol.

Requirement: Need to have broken Lu shang once I think (aka need to be able to catch a ryuugu titan!), 78+ fishing to start the quest (need a GP key item), 88+ to actually have a chance to catch the required fish (GP key item too), and 95+ to catch the fish reliably with the 2 fishing rings. Fishing is the only thing you cannot PL in this game; even for maat cap you could pl your jobs to 65.

I'm 87.7 fishing w/o the 88 key item obviously, and cannot put Gugrusaurus below 60% with both fishing rings LOL.

Other suggestions for wave four:

Strider's Boots
Maat's cap
X's knife

Don't get you wrong? you're the one who said it "doesn't really show off the LS ability." In the same paragraph you go from saying it is an LS accomplishment, but then say, "it's an individual acomplishment.[sic]" Did you mean that it is ALSO an individual accomplishment? Sorry, but I already said I never argued contrary so you can stop arguing against straw man concepts. You can also assume all you want, but you'd be wrong, and you can stop going on and on about your unsolicited strategies and drop rate percentages when when the original question as to why there aren't that many Morrigan Bodies was a rhetorical device to show that the group has to be as dedicated as the individuals. Just because a particular area or certain NM can be low manned or soloed, doesn't really mean anything about a completed piece being individual effort rather than a group effort when other people are putting effort along with you.

For that matter how can you say that salvage is an individual accomplishment when drops in dynamis can be just as rare and you're saying its a group effort? Xarc NMs can be done with a small group of individuals as well, and cities can be farmed well with fewer than 6 with a knowledgeable puller.

As I stated before, whether the individual is very dedicated or not doesn't matter if the group can get lucky on certain sets. Its not a good indicator of relative individual dedication when compared with objective time/money spent by the group/individual.

And being able to farm anything as a group and show consistent effort in completing an event is an LS ability. It doesn't matter how dedicated as an individual you are, because you're not gonna get that last piece drop without other people's help. 95% end game in FF is relatively easy in terms of strategy, it is only difficult because it is so repetitive and drop percentages are often bullshit. Being able to deal with that repetition and still get stuff done is one way a LS shows they are skillful.
I said it was a group effort. But that it is, however, more an individual accomplishment then a group effort. Dynamis is a large-scale battle. You do not, however, need several different pieces just to upgrade one piece. Limbus AF+1 is somewhat of an individual accomplishment as well.

Thing is, you're more dependant on every other individual in Salvage, then you are in Dynamis. If one person dies, another one can replace them easily. The same can not be said in Salvage. It also requires more dedication to accomplish something in Salvage then in Dynamis. Dynamis drops are also nowhere as rare, either. If drop rate on the 35 items and AF2 are both 10%, there's a MUCH larger chance to get AF2 in Dynamis, since every mob drops it. In comparison, you only have 1 chance per run of obtaining the item you desire in Salvage. So instead of 100 chances per run, you have one chance per run.

You said its a rethorical question. However, your rethorical question is wrong due to your flawed reasoning. Aditionally, what is it I'm "assuming" that you claim to be wrong? That you've never done Salvage? And what are these "unsolicited strategies" you're talking about? Not ocne in this thread have I talked about strategies. I simply asked why people have been giving Morrigan such a low rating.

Wouldn't they be 1s and 2s though, if they're actually useful? I always figured the whole "e-peen" thing was basically usefulness vs just showing off having it? i.e. HQ WFeet/Legs are virtually pointless, but HQ Hands have a reasonably better use than the NQ? Even if the HQ is rarer on some of the pieces, it does virtually nothing more at -all-, so that in itself shouldn't make them really all that great to show off to begin with.

*edit* Sorry, I see what you mean, was only really getting half of the picture. Yeah, Vampiric Claws are great, but they're also not terribly rare - the NM is almost always up and two decent BSTs can duo it with food, and it drops something lke 33% of the time. Hell, if you need some I can hop on tonight and help ya. =P

epeen means hard to get for me. not necessarily usefull; for example BLM with A body or ebisu rod arent worth the troouble , but makes u epeen.

Useless but rare isn't brag worthy at all.

Wave Two:
Crimson Cuisses (10) It's always good to run faster than what is after you.* ^^
Defending Ring (9)
Hecatomb Cap (6)
Herald's Gaiters (10) *See Crimson Cuisses
Ice Gauntlets (5)
Koenig Cuirass (8 )
Novia Earring (7)
Sha'ir Manteel (8 )
Speed Belt (10) Skaw doesn't have one! XD
Vivian Ring (10) Very Rare because it's on the way to Fafnir and if you've been doing end-game for a long time you know what I mean...

Wave Three:
Duelist's Chapeau (10) RDM finishes looking for what to wear in his head after getting this.
Ebisu Fishing Rod (7)
Homam Gambieras (9)
Homam Manopolas (9)
Morrigan's Robe (8 ) To be useful you need the whole set, so I won't give it a 10. ; ;
Nashira Manteel (7)
Nashira Seraweels (7)
Usukane Sune-Ate (10) O.O
Valor Surcoat (6)
Vampiric Claws (10)

Morrigan's Robe (8 ) To be useful you need the whole set, so I won't give it a 10. ; ;

How so? it beats out any body for rdm and blm, and arguably blu.

I was thinking about the "Magic Atk. Bonus" Enhancement when you have the set. It has Magic Atk. Bonus +5 sure, but still to use that entirely I would have to get the whole set. BLM can have a more useful Iquira/Genie Weskit easier too. RDM can get a Dalmatica faster than this item too.

If I could have one I would surely have one. But for my BLU I would go with Homam 1st. It gives me HP+ MP+ and ACC+15 plus Triple ATK. ^^

Wave Three:
Duelist's Chapeau (10) THE two most important things for a RDM period, Enfeebling skill, and Refresh. Stackable refresh on top of that. There are very few pieces that Dynamis offeres now that are really worth that much trouble.

Ebisu Fishing Rod (10) I like to fish, and this Relic fishing pole would be frigging sweet.

Homam Gambieras (5) Stupid good, but not too hard to get. Dificulty lay in the lotting rules.

Homam Manopolas (5) See above.

Morrigan's Robe (10 ) I can't think of a better body fort eh jobs that can wear it. It also takes the efforst of a rather skilled group and some serious financial backing to accomplish.

Nashira Manteel (5) It's flashy, but kinda useless. Lavish and shows you can kill Ultima. But could also be considered a "Throw Away Item" that really drops the value of it.

Nashira Seraweels (6) Same as the two homam pieces stated above, but an extra point for Ultima being a little bitch.

Usukane Sune-Ate (10) Every job that can wear this benefit from it in a particularly noticeable way. Lucky 7's are the best feet period. They woulda been a 9, but man... They just topped it off with the deuce on haste for good measure.

Valor Surcoat (8 ) Good, Functional. E-Peen? Maybe on a strictly asthetic level. The only reason this piece gets a notch lower than Duelist Chapeau, or say Assassin's Armlets, is that there's a severe difference in numbers for people waiting for them.

Vampiric Claws (6) These are neato, but contrairy to arguement, thay are super easy to get, you just need to get a small group of people to not be lazy for once to get em.

Most everything is common or could be common if people did the actual events. Dynamis has been around awhile, Salvage has been too, but not enough do it regularly. Limbus is easy and you can do Omega almost once a week if not every 3rd run and Ultima can be done every other week with decent groups. Vampiric Claws are nice, probably should be more items like this that allow jobs to still be useful in various situations, but still, not a hard to get item. Don't know a thing about Ebisu fishing rod though, not really a big fan of it, but if I had to say something, I'd guess 1 for that very reason.

Morrigan body alone makes more dmg than igkira.

Magick attack+5 INT+8 is more dmg for blm than Magic atck+6 or 7 for HQ Igqira

I think you're alittle off on your assumptions.
First, it's unknown at this time what the additional Mag.Att bonus is on the set, the Robe alone has +5, I am assuming you missread the Item description and made the association that the set bonus was +5, it's not. Second, I highly doubt a RDM could get a dalmatica quicker than a Morrigan's Robe. While a morrigan's robe takes 3 Pieces, one being a bullshit drop rate, you can still in theory attempt to get it more frequently. The main prohibiting factor is the Cost of the ingots in todays ecconomy, but coincidentally, they cost almost as much as what I see cursed Dalms go for in the downs. Back to the point, Nid pops once a week at best, Aspid pops once a week as well. they each have a 100% chance of dropping 1 Abj, and what appears to be a 50% chance at dropping a second. Nid shares that drop with N.Legs, M.Body, and E.Body; Aspid shares it with M.Feet, D.Feet, and W.Body. So you get a 25% chance at aquiring a A.Body on Nid a week, and a 25% chance on Aspid. As well, the 50% x 25% chance at getting it to drop on the 'second' abj. so between the two, you have a total chance at roughly 75% chance at it dropping over all. However... when you factor in competition, and Botting, if you're a legitimate LS, your chances drop exponentially. On top of that, you need to be able to kill the mobs in question.

SO where 1 pretty much is exclusively the droprate on 3 rats you have 100% chance at claiming in Salvage, the other is a 3-6 day window for one mob to spawn and a manditory 3 day wait in between, while competeing with 120+ people that lie, cheat, bot, and hack.

Unless you are in said linkshells. I think your chances of getting a Morrigan's Robe is much higher.

Did I mention you don't Schedule Nidhogg like you can slavage? Good luck wakign up at 3:30am to try to claim on most occasions....
