End Game Mindset. Why?

I personally do not do anything end game. I don't exactly see the point. I mean...I get awesome gear so that I can...what? Make my enfeebles stick on gods longer? Why just not do gods then? Yeah I suppose ONE day I will go do dynamis, sky, HNMs, ect again. But for now, with RDM being my only 75 job, I don't see the point. I don't exactly NEED gear for RDM to do the things I do(which consist mainly of helping people with limit breaks and AF).

the reason that one would do it is just to be better...to do more things

the analogy you could make to what you are saying is this-- you're content with a honda accord with basic options. thats fine. itll get from point A to point B. or you could work harder, save more money, and buy a lexus with all the options... and then get to point A to point B in more style, and have more options to do more things.

:)

I think the problem I've had with endgame Sky is that my (limited) experiences with it have been unfocused beyond "farm pop items, kill gods, get gear," which got old pretty fast. I didn't get a sense that the gear was going to be used for anything other than to pimp out players for more efficient god-killing.

Maybe I was just in the wrong shells. I think if someone had said "We're going to Sky to get these specific pieces of gear to outfit our troops and then in x number of months we're going to start taking down dragons," I would've enjoyed it more instead of feeling like I was on a hamster wheel going nowhere. I don't know if that makes sense other than saying I need clear goals.

I felt the exact same way.

I always just wanted an active shell where there were lots of events to benefit everyone who participated.

I think it is easier to say that the majority of these posts are why i quit endgame, than to quote them all.

I did enjoy Kirin, and the attempt on Jorm. I don't care if we fail - although victory is much sweeter.

This is exactly right though... very little that you do at 75, apart from HNMs needs the gear from HNMs.

As I said before though, I do it for the challenge of fighting the biggest mobs and because I like the people I play with and playing RDM. The gear is a bonus that lets us fight bigger mobs. Joining a HNM shell for gear alone is pretty pointless... (just like buying a Ferrari to only drive the five miles to and from work every day...)

I can relate to what you're saying. Hell, I was finished for god gear and I STILL applied for a Sky LS because it has awesome people/skill etc. That's one of the reasons I refused to join a 'nazi' end game shell that has events every day, or one that didn't understand that people have work schedules. Luckily when I tell my LS leader that I have to work on day with a big event, he says "Np". I guess you just need to find level-headed LS.

i agree with that completely. Endgame can be fun if your ls leader and members are level headed and not obsessive.

I couldn't agree more with Hal's post. After doing Dynamis, limited HNM and Gods stuff, I'm just not excited about any of it yet. Sure, it's fun the first couple of times, and getting the win is a huge plus, but my heard isn't in it ATM. On the other hand, helping a level 52 (insert job here) with AF or limit break stuff.. I may have done that a hundred times, but it never gets old... :)
