I was just saying that this kind of self-important, "spread awareness" language would be more appropriate for a
real cause. There's no derailing here. I'm saying that the attitude of those that run the site you linked to is humorous. The other links I provided are just examples of what this silly little organization is trying to pretend it is.
The self-praising for having the "guts" to "speak up" about something, or the insistence that everyone "spread awareness" is more suited towards threats like fatal diseases, atrocities committed, abusive business practices, toxins in the water supply ... whatever.
To apply this kind of militant, righteous tone to something like this is just ... well, funny or sad. I don't know which. It's not just a "helpful site." I like "helpful sites." I appreciate the people who put time into them. This one, however ... well, they genuinely seem to be portraying this issue as if it were a major threat.
Did you really
read what they were saying? The
Take Action! link alone is all the example one needs of how ridiculous the overall tone of their language is. Sure, the program might be helpful. They're just wrapping it in wording that suggests its something along the lines of a solution to world hunger.
You honestly didn't find the way they were talking about themselves at all funny? I wasn't even sure if the site was a hoax or not, until I looked into the forums.
Whatever. If you honestly can't see how ridiculous their tone is (the only thing I was trying to point out), I won't press the issue. Enjoy your "fight" against lag.
