Endgame MNK Equipment - Need opinions!

I'm talking about the real game. This is the endgame forum, people ask what gear is the best, for MONK it's salvage obviously, hence why I insist on range attack.

The thread isn't even about Salvage, it's about what decked out End Game(universally) equipment a monk should shoot for. The only mention of Salvage is gear obtained through it before you started posting shit. Quit masturbating over Salvage because it's the only event your shit jobs(both in quality and personal play style) are invited to.

Pulling with ninjutsu is retarded, you need to be extremly close to the mob for it to work, it's even more retarded than provoke. The idea of range attack is "range" attack, got it ? This grenade is fail, until they make it unthrowable.

As long as you're not in range to get natural aggro, it's a ranged attack, retard. And 1300 units in 2 inventory spaces beats stacks of 12 or 99 over many. Not to mention they'd be significantly cheaper.

Pulling with ninjustu means you have to get almost in sneak range, then when you go back to camp your are half dead because the mob was always in melee range for him. Might as well Blood pull, it will have the same effect pretty much, it will save you one slot.

What kind of drugs are you doing to equate casting range(of anything) as being almost within sound range? Sound aggro is pretty god damn shallow.

I solo'd on NIN yesterday casting Jubaku:ichi to pull mobs. Properly done, I didn't lose a shadow until I turned around back where I was fighting.

Yeah I was going to say it's easy to ninjutsu pull and get to camp without being hit, you've got to be fucking stupid not to be able to do it.

IT'S GONNA SOUND AGGRO LOOK OUT.

Oh wait, it wouldn't. Sight, maybe(doubtful) you've got an arguement there, but not sound. No fucking way.

There are gears that magic/ja aggro in salvage, where you do have to rely on a pure ranged, but it's not because of sound aggro. Even then I was able to do it as a war/nin casting bloody bolts, mnk isn't a necessity.

Haha all this trouble to pull a .. worm. Makes me laugh, you can pull mobs from at least double this distance with a real range attack, and aside from being safer it is way faster : 1st no casting time, second you get to camp faster. Now GL with farming copper ore, I personnaly farm Hikazy Hara-ate, kabutos, freya's Jerkin etc. But I have to admit, since you provide us with a picture on this renowned end-game forum :

You don't need a range attack to pull an immobile mob, that doesn't even move when aggroed.

Ninjutsu should be a viable pull since it doesn't trigger magic aggro. YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS JAMAL.

However, thats still entirely up to mob placement and the environment itself.

Mob type doesn't fucking matter. You said casting range for Ninjutsu is just outside sound aggro. It's not. Not only did I give you proof(If you know sound aggro range, you can tell I'm well outside of it.) But two others have told you they pull with Ninjutsu and have no problems getting back to camp unscathed. I just used that worm because it was the first fucking thing I saw.

You're right though, a ranged attack would be faster. However, if you're a monk, playing to your fullest, you don't have the inventory to support several stacks of pebbles. And if you're money smart, you have more than enough sense to use Tathlum and Astralagos. Yes, you can use a bane chakram. They're 70+ to use however, and require you gimping your stats slightly or hosing any built up TP.

Can we ban this moron already?

Again; Thanks everyone for the opinion. I have a good idea of what is good for endgame monk.

I have to apologize to you. My advice to you is the next time you need end-game advice. Don't take it here. It'll just end up being moronic salvage debate.

I'm really sorry.

If you pull with provoke it means you suck because that's only one mob every 30 sec lol. Also range attack, meditate this.
I never said to pull with ranged attacks, dumbass, I said provoke as in, to provoke it off of the puller. Just like you do every other time someone pulls. Of course, that involves being intelligent, so I'm not talking about you or your retard butt buddy mdkuser.

Except that salvage isn't the only thing in this game(you're like peregrine was with dynamis), and even then, your monks shouldn't be pulling unless the rest of your salvage group is brain dead. You're talking about one very, very small section of endgame, and you're even giving out bad advice to boot. Stay out of discussions you know nothing about.

Monk's don't see a whole lot of endgame anyways. Dynamis, Limbus(non-boss), salvage, farming sea/sky; that's really about all they're good for. Chi Blast is pathetic damage given the time involved, and letting them melee is like giving the mob meditate.
You said it yourself, MNKs are not used for a whole lot of end game for the very reasons you listed. In every single situation a MNK can be used for in end game, it can be replaced by another high end DD job and thus the job becomes just a secondary position... except in salvage. In salvage, it's the only event in which MNK is the primary job choice at least for the beginning segments. If you're a MNK, you should be aquainted with salvage since at the very least, you'll want one piece of armor (Usukane Sune-ates) if not the whole set. For a carreer MNK, I would imagine this is one of the few times you can actually be expect to go MNK rather than be asked for another job all the time.

Except that even doing Salvage exclusively as MNK still shouldn't require you to be pulling as MNK. Most salvage groups I know of have a THF for TH, so why the hell have a MNK pull when you have a job that's optimally suited for it?

Prior to the addition of Retaliation yes, MNK's were the ultimate salvage job. WAR can do just as much as a MNK now, the only stipulation being one of the two initial weapons must be given to the WAR.

Fuck your TP gaining free hit being better than my damage avoiding TP-less free hit that still gives mobs TP.

Need abilities and subjob active to get that though, MNK is fully capable upon entering. Don't get me wrong, we use both, but in areas where the cells are a low percentage, I'd go MNK over WAR.

why would you need sub job? all you need is weapon and abilities... lol axes.

2 weapons and at least 1 ability drop in the first chest.
