Endgame

Depends how well you can balance your life between school and work. I've made it work, so its not to say that it's not possible.

Whoops forgot about that one! (*'-')

Didn't leave it out on purpose... I do go out. :D

Endgame before level 75 (dare I say, 73? ;o ) is a joke.

You'll die alot, you wont do any damage, and it'll slow your leveling down.

Get 75, then apply to a Sky, CoP or HNM ls ;)

Any shell that'll invite you at 65 is probably not worth joining unless you're a super in-demand job that's not too affected by level. At 65 the concept seems nice, to be in a shell and start early, even get some gear to help you while you're levleing. At 75 when you're merited and geared up you probably won't want to be working with 65 paladins that they'll still be inviting in the future. Imagine you're a level 75 with god gear and full merits and you are getting the shit kicked out of you by a god, and your backup voker can't tank a Ro'Maeve weapon.

Get 75. Get merits, which are more useful than endgame gear then worry about endgame.

A friend of mine got an Endgame LS invite the other day for his 67 blm. He turned it down, but seems they are starting to invite earlier these days.

I will wait till my 75 before I mess with endgame.

I started doing Dynamis when I was 70, and let me just say that it was no fun at all when everyone else was 75. =/ No awesome gear, and 5 levels worth of axe skill plus the merits I lacked really hurt my ability to make a dent in the mobs. I was blasting out mighty 300 damage Rampages, as opposed to something closer to 1000 at 75. Definitely worth holding off on endgame till you get at least 73, when you have access to most of the good stuff.

Not even going to worry about it until i get out of parents house I have plenty of time to lv my mains after all subs are done I'll grind rdm to 75 or retire rdm and get blu to 75

I'm just a bit intimidated just by Darth telling he has only 2 days of free online time while the rest is devoted to fury, dynamis, etc.

I know 1 person who started endgame at 65 and kicked ass, but by no means is that the standard. You know who you are.

i recently joined sky. if they had said i had too be in sky shell most of the time i woulda bailed. i dont think they have a right to tell you that you cant have a social shell. as far as im concerned you were right to turn it down. i woulda told to piss off too. :)

Sky only shells won't ask that. Especially if they only farm at scheduled times.

HNMs however pop whenever the hell they want, there's usually something to camp at all times of day, but if you never have ppl showing you can't camp/claim/kill, thus why people need to be in shell to receive notice. Also, most people in HNM shells become good friends. I know i don't need a social, my HNM shell IS my social.

/agreed.. 65 is way too early for any job.

Endgame is a huge time sink, and a lot of it can't be regularly scheduled. If you decide that you want to experience it, you have to understand that it will take up most of your on line time. For some people it's worth the commitment, for some people it isn't. Endgame shells do need people who will spend most of their time in shell though.

Runs that can be regularly scheduled though, like Dynamis, Limbus, assault, BCNMs etc still let you experience some of the endgame stuff, without making such a large comittment, and there are a lot of smaller shells (often aligned with the larger shells) that let you try out endgame.

yeah, pretty much what court said.

the biggest thing is that with alot of HNM shells, if you arent in the shell, you'll miss out on alot of activities and maybe even hurt your shell.

and im sorry but when you are in a HNM shell of any kind, that shell deserves 90% of your online time in that shell. there is nothing more annoying than trying to schedule an event that just came about because "such and such" NM popped, needs people, and you have to seach whore people because they wont stay in their damn shell.

that is one reason i wont join a HNM shell. i dont like to have MY game time dictated to me. i choose what and when i do things in game.

Yes, because there's a person that controls when a mob pops. :nyam:

people can choose to have thier time dictated if they want. i was just posting my opinion that i choose not too play that way.

Something extremely important about hnm shells, you prettey much have to like fighting hnms, or else it simply isn't worth it, and on top of that you need to get along with the linkshell you're in.

I personally like fighting gods, kings, and sea gods. So having a hnmls isn't so much as having my time being dictated to me, rather it's just that much more oppurtunity to do what I like. Plus I like the people in my linkshells and in the end, it's enjoyable to be in the shell even if I'm standing in town in an exp party, waiting 3 hours to lose a claim, or fighting an oversized jelly fish.

If you can't part with your current social shell, at best you might just have to try to make your social shell do endgame activites, or start your own hnmls with members from your social. Splitting up times doens't work too well for "serious" endgame, but I'm sure there are linkshells (once you're a bit higher level) that would welcome help for god pops, or random events on your own time, just don't expect to ever get any rewards from it.
