It's been close to a year since my last FMV release (If you'd like to see it, click here). I have released a few other videos as well, but nothing really like the one I linked above.

I have been working on a video for quite a while now, yet I haven't released it because I've been sort of lazy about it. Although I've also hit a snag in production (in a way). I've seen that Recollection video before that was posted in General, but I didn't rememebr it really showing some of the other stuff besides the jobs. Problem is that some of the footage I already have is in that. So I may continue on with this one and change it around a little, or I'm going with something different.

Either way, I want to get it done. So I've given myself the release date of Monday, Februrary 27th to get this done. So look here on the 27th. If the video isn't here on that date, then I suck.

Update! I've sort of been lacking with working on this video lately. Been doing NM's, leveling, etc. But the good news is that I logged early tonight and spent about two to three hours editing it, and it's coming along nicely. With over two weeks left to go, I think it'll be ready in time for the target date of the 27th.

I have named this video Enfants du Cristal, which translates from French to Children of the Crystal. I'm doing it in a different style than the last one. I was thinking of making some sort of preview of it, but I think I'd rather just wait.

Check back here at QCDN on the 27th for it, as well as http://ffxi.swishiee.com.

what editing/video software did you do that w/ swishie...i'm looking for a good one and i was looking at adobe premiere until i saw it's price tag >.>;;; [Help me out!]

I've just been using Windows Movie Maker. I believe it comes with XP. I didn't have a shortcut to it in my Entertainment folder with WMP and stuff, but it was in the following directory for me.

C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe

I just emailed SE about their fan movie contest. If at all possible, I'd like to enter it even though I can't be there. If I can enter it and not have to be there if I win, I'm soooo doing it. I'm loving it so far and it's still incomplete by about 20 seconds.

oooo Put me in it lol Make me a star ^^

Keep it up Swish, I really wanna see the video. I am a film major and love editting, so I'll definitely be your critic lol

Swish, let me have a private screening because you love me. :D

Well, it's "done". The reason it's "done" is because it's possibly the final version, but I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to publicly release this version, or redo a few things. I'm going to do a "test screening" for some of my friends and then see what their comments are.

And I got a reply from SE. My original email and their reply are quoted below.

My email to SE said:
I am currently making a FFXI movie for fun, and I am interested in entering it in the contest. But I have a question about it before I finish it up and enter. I read through the rules, and I read that prizes will be awarded at the FFXI Fan Fest. Does this mean that if I enter and become a finalist, I have to be there? I would like to go, but tickets have sold out, and I wasn't able to plan a trip to Santa Monica for it anyway. But I would like to enter the contest if I don't have to be there to win. Please let me know, and if I can enter, I'll send a link to it as soon as it's done.

Greetings Eric,

You do not need to attend the Festival to receive the Art or Movie contest prizes.

So I'm entering this one and the Honeymoon one I made last year in the contest.

Thing is, that only lists the art or movie prize, unless i'm mistaken, isn't the grand prize the home sound system? or is 'that' the movie prize?
