English class?

Yeah, I know was just messing around too. LMAO

This is why punctuation/grammar matters:

Dear Jack,

I want a man who knows what love is all about. You are generous, kind, thoughtful. People who are not like you admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me for other men. I yearn for you. I have no feelings whatsoever when we're apart. I can be forever happy - will you let me be yours?

Now, for the dimwitted people out there, the whole point is basically that if you take out all the punctuation from either or the interpretation is left up to the reader. And as you can clearly see, the message is completely different in both quotes.

have to wonder how many people who responded to this thread checked their spelling and grammar before posting

This thread needs more Hellstorm

Though if it pisses skaw or bajaratt off I must be doing something right,

Don't be confused. Your typing isn't what gets to people(even though it is pretty disgraceful,) but the fact that you're a gigantic fucking retard, who probably got beat with a shovel as a child, and are completely oblivious to the fact.

I expect you to be legible when you write a post. If I cannot understand what you are saying, or I do not wish to spend 5-10 minutes deciphering your post, I deem you inferior. Yes, it does mean a lot to people how well you can write. Try getting a job “wen u tipe leik dis.” It's not that hard to know basic spelling and grammar rules. I even mess up sometimes, and I'm an English major.

But please, is it too much to ask to try and create a coherent sentence?

1. I do tend to over-comma things
2. Have I told you lately that I love you? Serious props, man!

I'm typing above the quotes so that I can warn people before reading everything. I believe that I have found at least one mistake performed by everyone who has posted thus far at least once. At least, with exception to those who only posted one sentance to obtain their PC+1 (Hali >.>). Anyhow, I expect "rate up's" for putting so much work into this. Also, in comparison to Neyla's correction post, I win.

Can I ask why you put things you're quoting below your response? I've seen you do that for a while now, and it doesn't make any sense to me at all. It's kind of annoying, you're the only one who does it and it breaks up the flow of your posts significantly.

I'm an English major too! Hurray!

I don't believe there were any grammatical errors in my quote. Furthermore, you misspelled "sentance" numerous times all throughout this thread. Last I checked it was spelt "sentence".

I've never quite understood why so many people fuck up the spelling of "sentence."

When I first starting posting on BBSes, way back when I was a pup, you always posted the most current addition to the thread on top, on the premise that most people reading the thread already knew what was written that you were responding to. Old habits can be hard to break. Honestly it makes no difference to me, I just forget to post under instead of over.

prolly cause when they say it they say something similar to "ant" like "ance" or whatever and so they think "sentANCE" when it's "sentENCE" like "essence" or "ent!" :P

No need for either of those comma's as the sentance is appropriate without them.

I'm going to argue my comma usage took place to set off parenthetical elements.
