Ever needed to know how to say "There's no WHM!" in Japanese? Well look no further than the linked site. It has many great phrases that would be very useful when dealing with the minority of NON-JP-ONRY people out there. Check it out, lemme know what ya think, I can't believe someone took the time to make it, lol.

Orange juice – orenji jyu-su
Pineapple juice – pain jyu-su
Yagudo drink – yagu-do dorinku

:lol: :lol:

Fun stuff!

Problem is after you ask a lot of those questions, you won't be able to understand their answer. :oops: Nice page though.

this is kinda cool. I do find it amusing how a lot of the translations are simply english words spoken with a heavy japanese accent...

I don't trust any website with translations 100% but they are helpful. Just from the amount of exposure to anime I have begun picking up on single words, (In anime it is frequent for someone to yell a word 2 or 3 times in rapid succession for emphasis. So you learn the word and how it is pronounced.) Even that I take with a grain of salt since people don't talk how people on TV talk in ANY country really. Still I've begun to piece together a pretty good picture, and can get a general idea of what is going on in a conversation just from keywords I recognize. A very painstakingly slow way to learn a lanaguage but it's kinda fun to realize how may words and phrases I know now than I didn't 2 years back...

Even on this page though theres little things they don't explain like

Quadav – kudafu, kame

Kame is literally turtle, which of course applies to quadavs but is a much broader word than quadav is. Good site anyways :)

a lot of words in the japanese language are spoken like the english way but with japanese syllables instead of english

like the way

potion = po-shun

spoken its actually written like

potion = po-shi-yu-n

in katakana.

Yeah most the english words are just imported to use Japanese sylabels. In fact they have an alphabet specifically designed for foreign words. It is called Katakana and youll usually see JP's use it. It looks slightly different than Hiragana but there are certain ones that are almost exactly the same. The letter for Ki would be a good example. Kanji is Chinese lettering that they use to shorten up sentences and basically make it easier on the eyes and on paper for the Japanese. The only real problem with Kanji is that it can number above 10'000 letters. They litterally have dictionaries devoted to Kanji. I have one but it is still time taking to point out each seperate Kanji letter. A lot of those on that page are very accurate, for me though I would probably change it around for dialect purposes.
