now i know staffs dont enhance bar-spells, or en-spells. but the spectulation of mine, dose the same apply to earthstaff/stoneskin blink/sneak.invisible.lolblink? and so on...

never had a clean cut answer with proof in the pudding

I don't think you'd be able to accurately test blink, sneak or invis, since the duration or the number of shadows is random. With stoneskin it's probably possible to check by measuring the amount of damage done.

I usually swap in Wind Staff for sneak/invis anyways, but I haven't heard any solid evidence either. However my rdm buddy is quite sure that Earth Staff affects Stoneskin.

I don't see how Blink could be affected.

No. it does nothing. Only reason Light Staff affects Cure, is because of the Healing Spells +10% stat, not because of the Light Element.

Yeah, it's only +10/15% to offensive magic, unless otherwise stated like the Light Staff. Which is why Apollo's doesn't do Cure+15%. It does however give a 15% boost to Banish/Holy. Dia and Flash too, but you are not going to notice with those given their nature.

Well, mainly offensive, yeah, but it also gives -perp cost for avatars ;p

But ya ^^

The only thing you could *possibly* make a case for is sneak/invis, and even then, that's only if you believe that the variable duration is due to a player "resisting" the buff somehow, and that using the staff would cut down on resists. Most of us think it's just plain random though (outside of that one cape that directly states that it helps them).

hmm that intresting. Lot people Believe earth staff effect the amount of dmg stoneskin can withstand. I myself have my doughts of this so i never used it with stoneskin.

Are they keeping Earth Staff equipped? I mean, given the average players helplessness in regards to finding answers to their questions with ingame references, I wouldn't put it past them to not realize that would be why.

Stoneskin = hidden hp boost. Casting it is like having an extra 100-350 hp that can extend past your max hp. Haivng an earth staff equipped while being hit with stoneskin up will decrease the damage you take, just like any other time you have earth staff on. The potency of Stoneskin is determined by Enhancing Magic as MND, Kirin's Pole > Neptune's Staff > Water Staff while casting.

Skulker's Cape. That's one of my all-time favorite pieces of gear in the game, because it does exactly what it says it does. I won't leave my moghouse without it when I'm on White Mage, and it frosts my taru balls that I can't equip it on Beastmaster.

Theres always the IS Boots and Rainbow Powder :P

I wasn't aware of them, but I'll look into it. I'd still like to use my Skulker's on more jobs.

Life must be hard sitting back at camp while I Sneak/Invis as needed and go out to pull the prey back. Wocka wocka wocka.

Pffht. You say you enjoy pullling. Who am I to argue?

At any rate, I wish Earth Staff boosted the hell out of Stoneskin. I'd be macroing it in every time, especially in Dynamis-Windurst with all the AoE goodness from the yags.

Some of you are going to shoot me but I believe that wind staff helps out sneak and invis @_@ either that or I'm really lucky that it sticks longer when i cast with a wind staff equipped

no one can say sneak/invs is so dam random

Depends on the area I believe ie where mobs are epish to dcish it seems to last longer than in areas like monastic cavern

It can be pretty random it can last like a full 5mins to it getting the wearing off sign as soon as you cast it

I don't really believe that, because I usually have horrible luck with sneak/invis out in Wajaom Woodlands, where pretty much everything is EP-DC. I've also had it wear off after a few seconds in places where I was 40+ levels above everything, while it's lasted significantly longer in areas where I was surrounded by IT's. I believe it is truely random.

Don't forget about Stone Gorget. Well, if you can convince anyone to fight NMs in Promyvions ...
