Okay, my last topic was "emotional" or whatever but now I'm livid.. but I will stick dead to the facts.. If you delete this, you will simply be smothering truth that needs to be heard.. I'm sorry but now we have -another- person Nichole has lied to and used.

Nichole:
Liar, cheat, thief.. take your pick. This guy goes out and finds a victim, pretends to be a female.. and tries to get with them.

I have never found someone so repulsive in all my life.. to go out and lie about their gender to use people... it's horrible.

Does this belong here this time? Yes. He lied to me throughout our relationship on his gender and activities.. and now.. I see he has manipulated -another- person with his vile ways.

I only know because its friend of mine... how many more people should he be allowed to hurt? If this is not the foundation of the board.. to protect people.. Delete not my post, but the entire board.

I'm not giving out a name right now.. maybe this time Nich will have the guts to stop lying and come clean.. Perhaps man up to apologize... though I doubt it.. he will just hide behind his LS again which have nothing to do with this and still can maintain their pretty image..

I won't drop this.. I won't let it go.. That's 3 people Nich has hurt within my knowledge.. How many others are there? more importantly.. how many others will you all allow there to be?

I don't don't care if youre a mithra, manthra, or androgenous.. you don't manipulate people and use them then expect people to be okay with that.. This is not okay, this has to stop.
*edit* Forgot to mention his stalkerish tencendies and the fact he lies about people to try and not only get others to pull away from them but he needs his lill power fixes.

This is a copy of the original thread as Shaidalyn had posted to the NW, just moved here for future reference.

Simple answer.

STOP CYBERING PEOPLE YOU LONELY SAD PEOPLE.

GO OUT, GET LAID IRL.

this is pretty jerry springer or maury to me. i mean, with any relationship, there are certain inherent risks involved. i doubt any real life couples that played together would come to the NW board if one of them cheated on the other with a post similar to this. it sounds like you were emotionally invested enough to make a phone call. if you had no prospects of meeting IRL, what more could you expect from a relationship online except for kind words exchanged on a screen?

on the flip side, haven't most alot of dumpees heard the "i just want to be friends" line? that can be construed as a lie if it doesn't happen. it may sound weird but what if it's just his way of dumping someone. you thought he was a she initially, then she says she is a he. what makes you so sure now? in the end it just looks like you got dumped. like another poster said, there's no gender online.

All these threads need a little Dashboard Confessional playing in the background for that extra emo edge.

Thinking an online video game is not a dating pool isn't warped. Using an online video game to try to find a date, well you tell me. All of your friends are on your side huh? Wow, shocking.

I've been married for 13+ years. I met my wife using what may seem to you a very unorthodox approach, I met her in real life ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!

You say this is real life emotions being bent and twisted. Why would you invest real life emotions into text!? You don't know if that's a 13 year old boy from Wisconsin or a 55 year old woman in Sweden. Just because the persons says something doesn't mean it's true. That's true in real life and even more so online because of anonymity.

What exactly are you looking for? If it's companionship in real life there are several forums/webistes etc that are designed to help you with such a thing. Are you using FFXI for that purpose? Is FFXI your social playground?

PS I met my RL husband online and 1) I don't think that is something to be ashamed of and 2) we are going on three years - stronger than ever.

How long have you lived together? Sadly the person I met online long ago dated for six years, actually living together for three and ended up parting ways. Like a dumbass I met someone else online and we've been together for three years and it's going much better since we have real interests.

We moved in together in July of 2003. We were married in November.

There's a difference between meeting someone at a dating service website with obvious intents to meet up in real life and a game where the purpose is not to hook up with that hot cyber-babe, but rather to kill things, make virtual money, and chat with people.

Just because you can't find someone online (with your attitude I can see why) doesn't mean no one should try.

and Rambaldi.. I don't care about how -you- met anyone.

Thought I would clarify the 1st statement. As I said, some of us meet people without the necessity of the internet.

Shaidalyn said:
I know multiple couples who have been together 10+ years because they put out an ad in the paper on the SLIGHT off chance.. that 1/10000... and they hit jackpot..

For every 1 positive result how many negative are there? I have no problems with online dating. IF you do it and it works out, you're very lucky. The "problem" I find is you choosing FFXI for it and then getting all emo+1 over it because something didn't work out. Of all these "multiple couples" you know, how many of them met there partner through an online MMORPG?

If you are ok using a method that yourself states the odds are that terrible, you have more issues than are being discussed in this thread. Is there a reason why you are desperate to find an online companion? Is there a reason you have been unable to do so in person? Is there a reason why you fight with us all day in this meaningless thread even though our opinions don't matter? OMG do you realized you might have just missed your chance at meeting Mr/Mrs Right because you chose to do this all morning?!

This entry from [GM]Dave's blog says it all:

You want insight into an internet relationship? I can explain it very clearly.

You're both men.

One or both of you is pretending to be a woman.

One or both of you lives in your parents' basement.

One or both of you looks nothing like you say you do.

One or both of you is going to suggest getting together.

One or both of you is going to be very, very, very disappointed.

And that's an internet relationship in a nutshell.

Psssssttt. She's (read: he's) not really a model, either.

Well... maybe a "before" model.

And by "before," I mean "before the operation."

And by "before the operation," I mean "she has a penis."

Unless you're a fan of swordfighting, you might want to get the hell out now.

Meeting someone over the internet is like going to a restaurant you've never been to and picking something randomly off the menu.

You don't know what you're getting, you're probably not going to like it, and you won't know until it's already in your mouth.

Okay... that analogy sounded less graphic in my head.

My point is that anyone you meet over the internet is a stranger. Even after those hours and hours and hours you spent talking, they are still a stranger.

So, I find the whole idea of in-game weddings just plain hilarious.

My favorite are the stories that go "I met her, I fell in love, we got married, she had a penis, she took all of my stuff."

These are not isolated incidents. This happens quite often.

You realllllllllllly take your life into your own hands when you get hooked up with someone in-game.

I think this thread needs to get back on track, which is that Nichole pretended to be a female while he in reality is a male. He has successfully done so multiple times, and that's the gripe really.

Everything else in indeed irrelevant. I am sure we can place any amount of blame with Nichole or his cyber buddies (male or female, such as they are). Luckily this thread isn't about blame, but about the simple fact to point out that there is an in-game character called Nichole who is male in real life.

Perhaps the topic should be renamed to "Nichole is male IRL" and locked and the whole thing is as done as it will ever get on here.

I've talked to him in game about it, and he's telling everyone he meets he's a guy now. Pretty much resolved eh? Not to mention this topic is horribly one-sided. Nichole said he's going to refrain from posting in this topic but he might reply to clear some things up.

Edit: Do you really think that cure potency is the only thing that makes a white mage good, Xean? If so, quit playing white mage now please.

LOL I knew someone would try take a shot.

No, it's not the only thing. That was one example. I've discussed other things with him, such as MP conservation and regeneration, when he would come into my LS like that. Last time I partied in Bibiki Bay, my DDs go hasted, my PLD is hasted occasionally every two battles, and no one dies on my own fault, and by the end of a fight I still have over 400 MP. Do you think me giving one example surrounds an entirety? If so, stop arguing.

Oh, and to the rest who like to say that RL relationships > online: you may know what someone looks like in real life, but, as it is in real life or online, just because you know how someone looks (and touched, no doubt) doesn't mean you know a person's heart. And whoever wants to, don't ask what that is.

The things I look for in a good white mage are speed. How fast you erase that dia, how fast you flash that mob if the nin is having trouble, how fast you paralyna and silena, etc. along with MP conservation and such.

And it's a lot easier to fake emotions and the way you come off to people on the internet than RL so don't try to feed us that garbage about "knowing their heart"

just shut up and quit trolling the topic.

"OMG the player on FFXI said he was a woman but it turns out he was a man" threads deserved to be trolled excessively. I'm actually a 14 year old Goat. Who knew? Perhaps you should take your own advice.

y halo thar OPINION. I for one don't think it deserves to be trolled excessively. I'm sure others agree.

Now go make me some milk for some goat cheese.

Come on.. This is a ROLE PLAYING GAME... You can play as whatever gender you like. If your friends are going for a Cyber Relationship/Girlfriend, so be it, who cares Nichole is a male or female? it's not like as if they will be meeting each other IRL getting married ._."

Just remember this is a role playing game, not a Relationship Seeking Chatline.

This game isn't that fast compared to many things I've played before that require much faster reflexes (ie SSBM, Ninja Gaiden) so it's not hard to be quick at it. I hit my "Erasega" macro the moment I see the party debuffed, for example, I've never missed a closing sata sc as THF, among many things. But words only speak so much. I'd have no other way other than to show it in game to prove that. But it does annoy me when some people aren't fast enough with crucial things, and one of the worst examples is when tanks can't provoke a mob before it even reaches 15 feet away from camp.

Yes, it is easier to fake emotions online, but it is trickier to spot fake people in real life. The more clever ones can do it in RL, so what I said holds truth when people can't know someone even if they know that person in RL.
