Yeah this is pretty good defently beats haveing the M sign or whatever next to your head.
 
So, basically you level cap yourself in order to party with someone lower level than you?

It's interesting, especially the part about keeping the equipment (you can use equipment from your uncapped level, although it will perform as if it were at your capped level), but I think it's just a fancy way to let several people of different levels still party with each other.

It's a little different, but in FFXI you can party with friends in level cap areas (such as the promys or aqueducts). Plus you've got up to 15 different jobs on one character; chances are you can find -something- to use to party with.
 
I think FFXI just needs to increase the requirements for becoming a mentor, like having a job that is 60 and has completed genkai 3.
