I typed this up in response to Trippy's thread about the long hair, but I realized it would probably completely derail the thread, and I don't wanna do that, so it's going here.:


Ever since those dizzy bitches tried to pass that ERA in the 70's and started whining about "equal rights", I say all double-standards should be done away with. If a girl can have long hair in school, so can a guy. If a girl can have piercings, so can a guy. If a girl can wear a skirt, so can a guy. And I'm not just talking in the context of school here either. I think the woman should sometimes pay for MY meal when we go out, SHE should hold the door open for ME. Men should also have the same right to hit woman as woman do to hit men. When you hear about a woman slapping a man it's always because "oh he must have deserved it", but when a guy slaps a girl suddenly he's a monster and an evil terrible person and the police must be called! And I don't want to hear any bullshit about how women are more fragile(unless you really wan't to say you're the weaker sex), I don't buy that for a second.

Same goes for men though, men should be able to cook and clean and raise the kids. Personally I cook and clean for my household all the fuckin time, and no one gives me shit for doing "womens work". If people want equal rights, it's gotta be equal across the board, you can't have the best of both worlds. Either accept this or learn your place.

I agreed with everything that pertained to Trippy's thread about long hair. But after that...mostly what Halftaru said.
 
That sounds familiar lol, or ive heard a rant like that somewhere else. Either way i guess I agree to an extent. Double standards are bull shit, however I think your men being able to hit women is also bull shit. Thats not a double standard and it has nothing to do with women being weaker. Men and women are just different, you can't compare them so it can't be a double standard. Atleast thats my opinion. I do agree they can buy me a dinner though. Maybe in the past it'd be legit considering men USE to make more then women. But now that women make the same as men, or atleast should, they can buy me a steak every once in awhile. Or get off my god damn internet and get back in the kitchen to make me a fucking sandwich, which every works.

I'm not saying all women are like this, just some, and those some need to change. That's all I'm saying. I don't know the exact percentage of women that are still in this mindset, but it seems like the majority.

Why would I want to hit a woman? Cause sometimes they're a huge pain in the ass, same reason I would want to hit a guy. Disclaimer: I've never hit a girl, but there are alot of times where I've really wanted to. I can give you an example if you really want.

You don't hit a woman.

However, if they randomly come up to you and go bitchfest on you they kind of have a slap coming to calm em down. I'm not talking about one of your chick friends just having a bad day and bitching at you to vent; I'm talking a random girl you don't know just being a bitch I wouldn't tolerate that kind of behavior. So the situations are few and rare, or they literally asked to be hit.

Don't know about you but girls hold doors for me on a daily basis, and I've had enough meals paid for by a girl, as recently as yesterday.

Other than that little bit of bullshit, I think you've got some points. But like Hal said, I don't know where you're livin' but the people I know and see on a regular basis already do the things you're bitching about. Schools and private institutions have dress codes, and guess what, that's their prerogative. As far as I'm concerned, when you're out in the real world, you want to grow your shit to look like the Unabomber living up in some random log cabin, good for you. But when you are going to a school, a job, etc, you play by their rules. It's the way the world works, and it's the way its always worked. Be happy you weren't living in the 50's when you had to wear a dress shirt and dress pants to school as a guy and were forced to wear a skirt as a chick.

Guess what if they dont hire you you can sue them for discrimination for not hiring you because of having long hair. Discrimination is a 2 way street.

Great way to generalize every person that has long hair that we all look like the Unabomber.
 
just fyi, Ted Kaczynski, does not have long hair.

The day that you win that case in court is the day that i eat my hat. Not hiring you because of long hair is pretty far from discrimination. You want to have long hair, then you should be prepared to deal with what comes along with it.

FYI, when he was arrested, he was seriously unkempt. His hair was far from short. But whatever floats your boat. Way to miss the whole point though.

Every time I think to take you off ignore list and give you a shot you just remind me why I have you on it. I didn't generalize anyone, moron. I said If you want to grow your hair like the Unabomber in the real world, that's your prerogative. Nowhere did I say that all guys with long hair are the Unabomber or that all of them are unkempt. But you go ahead and try to put words in my mouth. It's about as much as is typical of you.
