Etiquette for Item parties

All,

Just wanted opinions on etiquette for item parties like coffer keys, genkai items, etc.

One opinion I've heard is that who ever puts the party together gets the first drop.

The other opinion I've heard is that you just lot the results like other item drops.

What does everybody think?

Lot. only fair way Otherwise you get people who put the party together getting theirs and disbanding

I'm all about lotting personally. Not in a normal party but only pt's where you're going after specific drops. Allthough i do hate the lotting system - I have piss poor luck

Oy I tried the Garrison last night...Some guy joined, the minute the Legs dropped he lotted on it, grabbed them and then disbanded - I was supremo-cheesed!

I was supremo-cheesed!

Sabia, you crack me up, even when you're pissed off you sound happy!

I agree on the lotting thing for -any- situation in which someone wants/needs an item! My beliefs are biting me in the ass, though, as I've lotted 11, 55, and 504 (beaten by a 764) on Exoray mold the last 3 times it's dropped :) Shame on anybody who gets that one item they need and disband! Bad player, bad! *hits on nose with roll of newspaper*

Sabia I was in that Garrison with you. That guy's name was Kronin. He had the highest lot for that mannaquien legs (900 something) then when he got them, he ran and stood right at the gate of sandy. Never trust Kronin.

That reminds me of the movie "The Mummy", in which that little wormy guy steals all sorts of junk from the tomb and runs away, abandoning his "friends", and eventually he gets his in the end. Deader than hell. I'm sure this guy will get what's coming to him ^^ hehe have to admit, it is kinda funny picturing some armor, sword and shield clad adventurer scrambling to pick up mannequein legs that he could get from like J.C. Penny and clutching them to his chest like they were his baby, then fleeing off towards the town gates to huddle in a corner mumbling to his "preciouses".

Kronin.. what an ass. /comfort Sabia.

I too believe in Lotting for needed / high priced items. I prefer the no lot practice during XP sessions coz it is one thing less for me to worry about... well unless it's a high priced item of course. Playing with JP sometimes frustrate me coz they are Lot happy. Being a tank, I have no time/focus on lotting since I am awaiting the next mob or checking the status of the puller. This, of course, gets me nothing or close to nothing   . Perfect example would be last night... In 3 hours of XP'n in Dragon's Aery on Darters and Spiders, I got 3 wind crystals.. and thats coz I finally realized to lot during the last 4 chains  .

bothers me how there are people out there who will work there way into something then as soon as they got what they need they take off and then come back when they need something.

Yup, I generally am super opposed to lotting during exp parties. For rare items though, lotting is generally the only way to go with a leader you TRUST (as in won't quartermaster, which is a stupid stupid feature especially since it doesn't actually let him distribute it and puts it directly into their inventory which doesn't let double circled items leave them).

Lotting is a good way to go because it is the most fair way, if not very random. i've been in many parties with Sabia and her lots are soooo hilarious. The Van'diel gods are definitely against her... when I see a lot under 100 three times a night for her...things aren't definitely going good..lol. all in all, lot for expensive/rare stuff.
