Tonight I was in a party that had a lot of negativity about various members. I find this to be the single most annoying aspect of playing Final Fantasy XI. Please keep your negativity to yourself. Some people actually did this fairly admirably, even when they had complaints about the way the party was being handled. No single party member was being overly harsh, but it added up and really hurt the experience to the point that I just left the party. And I'm a monk in the 50's, and therefore NEVER leave a party before I have to.

I think we could all stand to remember that the people we play with are in this for the same adventure we are, and that the most fun aspect of the game is working together; that's what makes this different from other FF games.

Oh, and I guess if I'm on the flameboard already . . . would it KILL you guys to invite a monk to your parties? We do good damage, and we DID help you with that 5-1 fight when you hit 50, remember?

Hugs and Kisses,
Val

People have been unwilling to fix the problems and thus the problem just persists. I am annoyed that whenever I party, there is usually 1 person, if not more, who cannot play their job right or messes up repeatedly so badly that the experience is not worth the time. No one and I mean no one wants to say a thing. Why? They are too afraid if they say anything that they will be kicked from the party and will lose out on experience. First off, you are the idiots for not saying anything. How is this person an idiot if no one is willing to teach him or her how to play the job properly? You expect them to magically figure out everything on their own when most everyone in this game has asked others about one fact or another at some point in the game? What’s the worst that could happen? You get kicked from a bad party that more than likely is not worth the time, effort and annoyance? If you do get kicked, all the better, that means you slowed the leveling of someone who should not be getting any further in the first place.

seems to explain each other rather well.

It's also dependant on what job I'm playing.

For example: When I was leveling Monk I basically kept my feelings to myself (until about 72-3 when I was actually getting MULTIPLE invites in a day - imagine that!) But if I'm on a more in-demand job, i.e. RNG, PLD, WHM etc, I feel like I have a little more leeway in determining my tenure in a party and my acceptance of poor play. If only for the fact that you can basically say "Fuck you, I'm (Job X) and I get invites while I'm in parties."

And yes, this attitude on someone's first job is where more than one by a bunch of the truly elitist fuckers have spawned from in this game.
